1 (KJV) Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD.
1 (ROH) Hallelujah! Chváľte meno Hospodinovo, chváľte, služobníci Hospodinovi,
2 (KJV) Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,
2 (ROH) ktorí stojíte v dome Hospodinovom, vo dvoroch domu nášho Boha!
3 (KJV) Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.
3 (ROH) Chváľte Hospodina, lebo je dobrý Hospodin! Spievajte jeho menu žalmy, lebo je to krásne.
4 (KJV) For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
4 (ROH) Lebo Jakoba si vyvolil Hospodin, Izraela za svoje zvláštne vlastníctvo.
5 (KJV) For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
5 (ROH) Lebo ja viem, že je Hospodin veľký a náš Pán nado všetkých bohov.
6 (KJV) Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
6 (ROH) Hospodin činí všetko, čo sa mu ľúbi, na nebi i na zemi, v mori a vo všetkých priepastiach,
7 (KJV) He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.
7 (ROH) ktorý pôsobí to, aby vystupovaly pary od konca zeme, robí dažďu blesky a vyvodí vietor zo svojich pokladov,
8 (KJV) Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.
8 (ROH) ktorý pobil prvorodené Egypta od človeka až do hoväda.
9 (KJV) Who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
9 (ROH) Poslal znamenia a zázraky do tvojho stredu, Egypte, na faraona a na všetkých jeho sluhov,
10 (KJV) Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;
10 (ROH) on, ktorý porazil mnohé národy a pobil mocných kráľov,
11 (KJV) Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:
11 (ROH) Síchona, amorejského kráľa, a Óga, bázanského kráľa, a všetky kráľovstvá Kanaána.
12 (KJV) And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.
12 (ROH) A dal ich zem za dedičstvo, za dedičstvo Izraelovi, svojmu ľudu.
13 (KJV) Thy name, O LORD, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.
13 (ROH) Hospodine, tvoje meno až na veky; Hospodine, tvoja pamiatka na pokolenie a pokolenie.
14 (KJV) For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.
14 (ROH) Lebo Hospodin bude súdiť svoj ľud a zmiluje sa nad svojimi služobníkmi.
15 (KJV) The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
15 (ROH) Modly pohanov sú striebro a zlato, sú dielom rúk človeka.
16 (KJV) They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
16 (ROH) Majú ústa, ale nehovoria; majú oči, ale nevidia;
17 (KJV) They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
17 (ROH) majú uši, ale nečujú; ani nieto ducha v ich ústach.
18 (KJV) They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.
18 (ROH) Nech sú ako ony tí, ktorí ich robia, každý, kto sa nadeje na ne.
19 (KJV) Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:
19 (ROH) Dome Izraelov, dobrorečte Hospodinovi! Dome Áronov, dobrorečte Hospodinovi!
20 (KJV) Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.
20 (ROH) Dome Léviho, dobrorečte Hospodinovi! Vy, ktorí sa bojíte Hospodina, dobrorečte Hospodinovi!
21 (KJV) Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
21 (ROH) Požehnaný Hospodin so Siona, ktorý prebýva v Jeruzaleme. Hallelujah!

Verš 4
For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
Ex 19:5 - Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.

Verš 8
Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.
Ex 12:12 - For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

Who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;

For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.
Dt 32:36 - For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

Z 135,4 - Izraelský ľud sa viac ráz nazýva "vlastníctvo" (Dt 7,6), vec, ktorá je zvláštnym spôsobom Pánova (Ex 19,5; Dt 14,2; 26,18).
Z 135,5 - "Že náš Boh je nad všetkými bohmi"- nanajvýš možno pripustiť, že žalmista hovorí za pohanov, akoby povedal: Pán je aj nad tými, ktorých pohania považujú za bohov (porov. Ž 97,9), ale v skutočnosti nie sú ničím (15-18).
Z 135,7 - Blesky oznamujú blížiacu sa búrku a sprevádzajú ju - "bleskami vyvoláva dážď" (Gn 7,11; 28,17; Iz 40,22; Jób 26,11; Ž 24,2; 29,3; Zach 10,1 n. atď.).
