1 (CPDV) A Canticle in steps. Those who trust in the Lord will be like the mountain of Zion. He will not be disturbed for eternity, who dwells
1 (HEM) שיר המעלות לדוד לולי יהוה שהיה לנו יאמר נא ישראל׃
2 (CPDV) in Jerusalem. Mountains surround it. And the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forward and even forever.
2 (HEM) לולי יהוה שהיה לנו בקום עלינו אדם׃
3 (CPDV) For the Lord will not allow the rod of sinners to remain over the lot of the just, so that the just may not extend their hands toward iniquity.
3 (HEM) אזי חיים בלעונו בחרות אפם בנו׃
4 (CPDV) Do good, O Lord, to the good and to the upright of heart.
4 (HEM) אזי המים שטפונו נחלה עבר על נפשנו׃
5 (CPDV) But those who turn away into obligation, the Lord will lead away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.

7 (HEM) נפשנו כצפור נמלטה מפח יוקשים הפח נשבר ואנחנו נמלטנו׃

8 (HEM) עזרנו בשם יהוה עשה שמים וארץ׃
