1 (KJV) I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 (KJV) My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 (KJV) He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 (KJV) Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 (KJV) The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 (KJV) The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 (KJV) The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 (KJV) The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Z 121 - Nadpis je ten istý ako v žalme predchádzajúcom. Žalm vystihuje city tých, čo sa vybrali na cestu do Jeruzalema.
Z 121,1 - Izraeliti sa modlievali obrátení k svätyni. Pri modlitbe zdvíhali ruky. Keď išlo o vzdialenejších veriacich, tak sa obracali smerom k Júdskym horám, kde bol Jeruzalem.
Z 121,6 - "Za dňa ťa slnko nezraní" (porov. 2 Kr 4,19; Jdt 8,3), "ani mesiac za noci" - orientálci aj dnes pripisujú niektoré choroby vplyvu mesiaca; iní myslia na nočný chlad (porov. Gn 31,40).
