Žalmy

1 (KJV) Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
1 (KAT) ALELUJA. Blažený muž, ktorý sa bojí Pána a má veľkú záľubu v jeho príkazoch.

2 (KJV) His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
2 (KAT) Jeho potomstvo bude mocné na zemi; pokolenie spravodlivých bude požehnané.

3 (KJV) Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
3 (KAT) V jeho dome bude úspech a bohatstvo, jeho spravodlivosť ostane naveky.

4 (KJV) Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
4 (KAT) Spravodlivým žiari svetlo v temnotách, milosrdný, milostivý a spravodlivý.

5 (KJV) A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
5 (KAT) V obľube je človek, čo sa zľutúva a rád pomáha, čo svoj majetok čestne spravuje;

6 (KJV) Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
6 (KAT) nikdy nezakolíše. Vo večnej pamäti bude spravodlivý,

7 (KJV) He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
7 (KAT) nebude sa báť zlej zvesti. Jeho srdce je pevné, dôveruje v Pána,

8 (KJV) His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
8 (KAT) bezpečné je jeho srdce, nebojí sa, kým nepokorí svojich nepriateľov.

9 (KJV) He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
9 (KAT) Rozdeľuje a dáva chudobným; jeho dobročinnosť potrvá naveky a jeho moc a sláva budú stále rásť.

10 (KJV) The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
10 (KAT) Hriešnik to uvidí a zanevrie, zubami bude škrípať a hynúť závisťou. Želanie hriešnikov vyjde nazmar.
