Žalmy

1 (KJV) Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;
1 (KAT) Zbormajstrovi. Dávidov žalm. Bože, chvála moja, nemlč,

2 (KJV) For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
2 (KAT) lebo sa proti mne otvorili ústa hriešnika a ústa podvodníka. Hovoria proti mne lživým jazykom,

3 (KJV) They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.
3 (KAT) zahŕňajú ma nenávistnými rečami a napádajú ma bez príčiny.

4 (KJV) For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.
4 (KAT) Za moju lásku broja proti mne; ale ja sa modlím.

5 (KJV) And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
5 (KAT) Zlom sa mi odplácajú za dobré a nenávisťou za lásku.

6 (KJV) Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.
6 (KAT) Postav nad neho hriešnika. Žalobca nech stojí po jeho pravici.

7 (KJV) When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
7 (KAT) Keď ho budú súdiť, nech vyjde ako odsúdený a jeho modlitba nech mu bude hriechom.

8 (KJV) Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
8 (KAT) Jeho dní nech je čím menej a jeho úrad nech prevezme iný.

9 (KJV) Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
9 (KAT) Jeho deti nech ostanú sirotami a vdovou jeho manželka.

10 (KJV) Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
10 (KAT) Jeho synovia nech sa voslep túlajú a nech žobrú, nech ich vyženú z ich spustošených príbytkov.

11 (KJV) Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.
11 (KAT) Nech ho úžerník oberie o celý majetok a plody jeho práce nech rozchvacujú cudzí.

12 (KJV) Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.
12 (KAT) Nech mu nik nepreukáže milosrdenstvo a nech sa nik nezľutuje nad jeho sirotami.

13 (KJV) Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
13 (KAT) Jeho potomstvo nech vyhynie, nech je vytreté v ďalšom pokolení ich meno.

14 (KJV) Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
14 (KAT) Pán nech pamätá na neprávosť jeho otcov a hriech jeho matky nech sa nezotrie.

15 (KJV) Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
15 (KAT) Pán nech ich má stále pred očami a nech vyhladí ich pamiatku zo zeme.

16 (KJV) Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
16 (KAT) Za to, že mu ani nenapadlo byť milosrdným, ale prenasledoval bedára a žobráka a skľúčeného v srdci chcel usmrtiť.

17 (KJV) As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.
17 (KAT) Miloval kliatbu, nech ho teda postihne; nechcel požehnanie, nech sa teda vzdiali od neho.

18 (KJV) As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.
18 (KAT) Preklínanie si obliekal sťa odev, nech vojde do jeho vnútra ako voda a do jeho kostí ako olej.

19 (KJV) Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.
19 (KAT) Nech mu je šatou, ktorou sa odeje, a pásom, ktorým sa vždy opáše.

20 (KJV) Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
20 (KAT) Tak nech Pán odplatí tým, čo na mňa žalujú a zle hovoria proti mne.

21 (KJV) But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.
21 (KAT) Ale ty, Pane, Pane, pre svoje meno sa ma zastaň, veď tvoje milosrdenstvo je láskavé; zachráň ma,

22 (KJV) For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
22 (KAT) lebo ja som úbohý a chudobný a moje srdce je vo mne ranené.

23 (KJV) I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.
23 (KAT) Odchádzam ako tieň, ktorý sa nakláňa, striasajú ma ako kobylku.

24 (KJV) My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.
24 (KAT) Od pôstu sa mi podlamujú kolená, a telo mi chradne bez oleja.

25 (KJV) I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.
25 (KAT) Som im už len na posmech; keď ma vidia, potriasajú hlavou.

26 (KJV) Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy:
26 (KAT) Pomôž mi, Pane, Bože môj, zachráň ma podľa svojho milosrdenstva.

27 (KJV) That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it.
27 (KAT) Nech poznajú, že to tvoja ruka, že si to ty, Pane, urobil.

28 (KJV) Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.
28 (KAT) Oni nech preklínajú, ty však žehnaj; nech sú zahanbení tí, čo vystupujú proti mne, a tvoj služobník nech sa raduje.

29 (KJV) Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.
29 (KAT) Nech hanba pokryje tých, čo ma osočujú, a potupa nech ich zahalí ako plášť.

30 (KJV) I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
30 (KAT) Veľmi budem oslavovať Pána svojimi ústami, budem ho chváliť uprostred zástupov,

31 (KJV) For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.
31 (KAT) lebo on stojí po pravom boku chudáka, aby ho zachránil pred jeho sudcami.
