1 (HEM) הדו ליהוה כי טוב כי לעולם חסדו׃
1 (UKJV) O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever.

2 (HEM) יאמרו גאולי יהוה אשר גאלם מיד צר׃
2 (UKJV) "Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy; "

3 (HEM) ומארצות קבצם ממזרח וממערב מצפון ומים׃
3 (UKJV) And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

4 (HEM) תעו במדבר בישימון דרך עיר מושב לא מצאו׃
4 (UKJV) "They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. "

5 (HEM) רעבים גם צמאים נפשם בהם תתעטף׃
5 (UKJV) Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

6 (HEM) ויצעקו אל יהוה בצר להם ממצוקותיהם יצילם׃
6 (UKJV) Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

7 (HEM) וידריכם בדרך ישרה ללכת אל עיר מושב׃
7 (UKJV) And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

8 (HEM) יודו ליהוה חסדו ונפלאותיו לבני אדם׃
8 (UKJV) Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

9 (HEM) כי השביע נפש שקקה ונפש רעבה מלא טוב׃
9 (UKJV) For he satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.

10 (HEM) ישבי חשך וצלמות אסירי עני וברזל׃
10 (UKJV) "Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; "

11 (HEM) כי המרו אמרי אל ועצת עליון נאצו׃
11 (UKJV) Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

12 (HEM) ויכנע בעמל לבם כשלו ואין עזר׃
12 (UKJV) "Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help. "

13 (HEM) ויזעקו אל יהוה בצר להם ממצקותיהם יושיעם׃
13 (UKJV) Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

14 (HEM) יוציאם מחשך וצלמות ומוסרותיהם ינתק׃
14 (UKJV) He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in two.

15 (HEM) יודו ליהוה חסדו ונפלאותיו לבני אדם׃
15 (UKJV) Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16 (HEM) כי שבר דלתות נחשת ובריחי ברזל גדע׃
16 (UKJV) For he has broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in two.

17 (HEM) אולים מדרך פשעם ומעונתיהם יתענו׃
17 (UKJV) Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18 (HEM) כל אכל תתעב נפשם ויגיעו עד שערי מות׃
18 (UKJV) "Their soul detests all manner of food; and they draw near unto the gates of death. "

19 (HEM) ויזעקו אל יהוה בצר להם ממצקותיהם יושיעם׃
19 (UKJV) Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saves them out of their distresses.

20 (HEM) ישלח דברו וירפאם וימלט משחיתותם׃
20 (UKJV) He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

21 (HEM) יודו ליהוה חסדו ונפלאותיו לבני אדם׃
21 (UKJV) Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22 (HEM) ויזבחו זבחי תודה ויספרו מעשיו ברנה׃
22 (UKJV) And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

23 (HEM) יורדי הים באניות עשי מלאכה במים רבים׃
23 (UKJV) "They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; "

24 (HEM) המה ראו מעשי יהוה ונפלאותיו במצולה׃
24 (UKJV) These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.

25 (HEM) ויאמר ויעמד רוח סערה ותרומם גליו׃
25 (UKJV) For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves thereof.

26 (HEM) יעלו שמים ירדו תהומות נפשם ברעה תתמוגג׃
26 (UKJV) They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

27 (HEM) יחוגו וינועו כשכור וכל חכמתם תתבלע׃
27 (UKJV) They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their know's end.

28 (HEM) ויצעקו אל יהוה בצר להם וממצוקתיהם יוציאם׃
28 (UKJV) Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distresses.

29 (HEM) יקם סערה לדממה ויחשו גליהם׃
29 (UKJV) He makes the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

30 (HEM) וישמחו כי ישתקו וינחם אל מחוז חפצם׃
30 (UKJV) "Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he brings them unto their desired haven. "

31 (HEM) יודו ליהוה חסדו ונפלאותיו לבני אדם׃
31 (UKJV) Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32 (HEM) וירממוהו בקהל עם ובמושב זקנים יהללוהו׃
32 (UKJV) Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

33 (HEM) ישם נהרות למדבר ומצאי מים לצמאון׃
33 (UKJV) "He turns rivers into a wilderness, and the fountains into dry ground; "

34 (HEM) ארץ פרי למלחה מרעת ישבי בה׃
34 (UKJV) A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 (HEM) ישם מדבר לאגם מים וארץ ציה למצאי מים׃
35 (UKJV) He turns the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into fountains.

36 (HEM) ויושב שם רעבים ויכוננו עיר מושב׃
36 (UKJV) "And there he makes the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation; "

37 (HEM) ויזרעו שדות ויטעו כרמים ויעשו פרי תבואה׃
37 (UKJV) And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

38 (HEM) ויברכם וירבו מאד ובהמתם לא ימעיט׃
38 (UKJV) "He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffers not their cattle to decrease. "

39 (HEM) וימעטו וישחו מעצר רעה ויגון׃
39 (UKJV) Again, they are diminished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

40 (HEM) שפך בוז על נדיבים ויתעם בתהו לא דרך׃
40 (UKJV) He pours contempt upon princes, and causes them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

41 (HEM) וישגב אביון מעוני וישם כצאן משפחות׃
41 (UKJV) Yet sets he the poor on high from affliction, and makes him families like a flock.

42 (HEM) יראו ישרים וישמחו וכל עולה קפצה פיה׃
42 (UKJV) The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 (HEM) מי חכם וישמר אלה ויתבוננו חסדי יהוה׃
43 (UKJV) Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the loving kindness of the LORD.
