1 (KJV) Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
1 (KAT) Dobroreč, duša moja, Pánovi; Pane, Bože môj, ty si nesmierne veľký. Odel si sa do slávy a veleby,
2 (KJV) Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
2 (KAT) do svetla si sa zahalil ako do rúcha. Nebesia rozpínaš ako stan,
3 (KJV) Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
3 (KAT) nad vodami si buduješ komnaty. Po oblakoch vystupuješ ako po schodoch, na krídlach vánku sa prechádzaš.
4 (KJV) Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
4 (KAT) Vetry sú tvojimi poslami, ohnivé plamene tvojimi služobníkmi.
5 (KJV) Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
5 (KAT) Zem si postavil na jej základoch, nevychýli sa nikdy-nikdy.
6 (KJV) Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
6 (KAT) Oceán ju prikryl sťa odev, nad vrchmi vody zastali.
7 (KJV) At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
7 (KAT) Pred tvojou hrozbou odtiekli, zhrozili sa pred tvojím hlasom hromovým.
8 (KJV) They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
8 (KAT) Vybehli na vrchy, stiekli do údolia, na miesto, ktoré si im vyhradil.
9 (KJV) Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.
9 (KAT) Položil si hranicu a neprekročia ju, ani viac nepokryjú zem.
10 (KJV) He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.
10 (KAT) Prameňom dávaš stekať do potokov, čo tečú pomedzi vrchy
11 (KJV) They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.
11 (KAT) a napájajú všetku poľnú zver aj divým oslom hasia smäd.
12 (KJV) By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.
12 (KAT) Popri nich hniezdi nebeské vtáctvo, spomedzi konárov zaznieva ich pieseň.
13 (KJV) He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
13 (KAT) Zo svojich komnát zvlažuješ vrchy, plodmi svojich diel sýtiš zem.
14 (KJV) He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
14 (KAT) Tráve dávaš rásť pre ťažný dobytok a byli, aby slúžila človeku. Zo zeme vyvádzaš chlieb
15 (KJV) And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.
15 (KAT) i víno, čo obveseľuje srdce človeka; olejom rozjasňuješ jeho tvár a chlieb dáva silu srdcu človeka.
16 (KJV) The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
16 (KAT) Sýtia sa stromy Pánove aj cédre Libanonu, čo on zasadil.
17 (KJV) Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.
17 (KAT) Na nich si vrabce hniezda stavajú a na ich vrcholcoch bývajú bociany.
18 (KJV) The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.
18 (KAT) Vysoké štíty patria kamzíkom, v skalách sa skrývajú svište.
19 (KJV) He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
19 (KAT) Na určovanie času si mesiac utvoril; slnko vie, kedy má zapadať.
20 (KJV) Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.
20 (KAT) Prestieraš tmu a nastáva noc a povylieza všetka lesná zver.
21 (KJV) The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
21 (KAT) Levíčatá ručia za korisťou a pokrm žiadajú od Boha.
22 (KJV) The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.
22 (KAT) Len čo vyjde slnko, utiahnu sa a ukladajú sa v svojich dúpätách.
23 (KJV) Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
23 (KAT) Vtedy sa človek ponáhľa za svojím dielom, za svojou prácou až do večera.
24 (KJV) O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
24 (KAT) Aké mnohoraké sú tvoje diela, Pane! Všetko si múdro urobil. Zem je plná tvojho stvorenstva.
25 (KJV) So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.
25 (KAT) Tu more veľké, dlhé a široké, v ňom sa hemžia plazy bez počtu, živočíchy drobné i obrovské.
26 (KJV) There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.
26 (KAT) Po ňom sa plavia lode i Leviatan, ktorého si stvoril, aby sa v ňom ihral.
27 (KJV) These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
27 (KAT) Všetko to čaká na teba, že im dáš pokrm v pravý čas.
28 (KJV) That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.
28 (KAT) Ty im ho dávaš a ony ho zbierajú; otváraš svoju ruku, sýtia sa dobrotami.
29 (KJV) Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
29 (KAT) Len čo odvrátiš svoju tvár, už sa trasú; odnímaš im dych a hneď hynú a vracajú sa do prachu.
30 (KJV) Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
30 (KAT) Keď zošleš svojho ducha, sú stvorené a obnovuješ tvárnosť zeme.
31 (KJV) The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.
31 (KAT) Pánova chvála nech trvá naveky; zo svojich diel nech sa teší Pán.
32 (KJV) He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.
32 (KAT) Pozrie sa na zem a rozochvieva ju, dotkne sa vrchov a ony chrlia dym.
33 (KJV) I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
33 (KAT) Po celý život chcem spievať Pánovi a svojmu Bohu hrať, kým len budem žiť.
34 (KJV) My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
34 (KAT) Kiež sa mu moja pieseň zapáči; a ja sa budem tešiť v Pánovi.
35 (KJV) Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.
35 (KAT) Nech zo zeme zmiznú hriešnici a zločincov nech už niet. Dobroreč, duša moja, Pánovi. ALELUJA.

Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
Gn 1:6 - And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Jób 26:7 - He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
Ž 18:10 - And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.
Iz 19:1 - The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
Zjv 14:14 - And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
Jób 26:7 - He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
Jób 38:4 - Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
Ž 24:2 - For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
Ž 78:69 - And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.
Verš 33
I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
Ž 63:4 - Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
Ž 146:2 - While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
Verš 21
The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
Jób 38:39 - Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,
Iz 31:4 - For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
Verš 27
These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
Ž 145:15 - The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.
Verš 29
Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
Ž 30:7 - LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.
Z 104 - V žalme máme chválospev na Boha, stvoriteľa vesmíru. Tento hymnus zachováva poriadok Gn 1,1 - 2,3.
Z 104,2 - "Nebesia rozpínaš ako stan". Vesmír sa tu aj inde v SZ opisuje podľa toho, ako sa javí navonok, nie podľa vnútornej povahy vecí (porov. Iz 40,22; Gn 1,6).
Z 104,3 - "Nad vodami", čiže nad nebeským oceánom (horné vody Gn 1,7).
Z 104,26 - Boh predvídal a chcel, aby po mori brázdili lode, aj ony sú potom koniec koncov jeho dielom.
Z 104,31 - "Nech sa teší Pán" - porov. Gn 1,31: "A Boh videl… a bolo to veľmi dobré."
