1 (KJV) Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
1 (B21) Žalm Davidův. Dobrořeč, duše má, Hospodinu a celé nitro mé jeho svatému jménu!
2 (KJV) Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
2 (B21) Dobrořeč, duše má, Hospodinu a nikdy nezapomeň na jeho odměnu!
3 (KJV) Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
3 (B21) On ti všechny tvé viny odpouští, on tě uzdravuje ze všech nemocí.
4 (KJV) Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
4 (B21) On tě vykupuje od smrti v propasti, on tě korunuje láskou a něžností.
5 (KJV) Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
5 (B21) On štědře naplňuje tvé žádosti, mládí ti obnovuje jako orlovi!
6 (KJV) The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
6 (B21) Hospodin spravedlnost zjednává, všem utlačeným k právu pomáhá.
7 (KJV) He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
7 (B21) Své cesty Mojžíšovi poznat dal, synům Izraele své skutky ukázal.
8 (KJV) The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
8 (B21) Hospodin je milostivý a soucitný, nesmírně trpělivý a velmi laskavý.
9 (KJV) He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
9 (B21) Nevznáší stále výčitky, nechová zlobu navěky.
10 (KJV) He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
10 (B21) Nenakládá s námi, jak zaslouží náš hřích, neodplácí nám podle našich vin.
11 (KJV) For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
11 (B21) Jako je vysoko nebe nad zemí, tak velkou lásku má k těm, kdo ho ctí.
12 (KJV) As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
12 (B21) Jako je od západu východ vzdálený, tak vzdálil od nás naše přestupky.
13 (KJV) Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
13 (B21) Jako je otec k dětem laskavý, tak je laskavý Hospodin k těm, kdo ho ctí!
14 (KJV) For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
14 (B21) On přece ví, z čeho jsme složeni, to, že jsme prach, si nosí v paměti.
15 (KJV) As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
15 (B21) Vždyť jako tráva trvá smrtelník, jak polní kvítí kvete si.
16 (KJV) For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
16 (B21) Poryvem větru ale mizí pryč, nezbude památky, kde dříve byl.
17 (KJV) But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
17 (B21) Hospodinova láska trvá odevždy, navždy zůstane s jeho ctiteli. Jeho spravedlnost bude i s vnoučaty
18 (KJV) To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
18 (B21) těch, kdo jeho smlouvu dodrží, kdo pamatují plnit jeho příkazy.
19 (KJV) The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
19 (B21) Hospodin ustavil svůj trůn na nebi, svou královskou mocí vládne nade vším!
20 (KJV) Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
20 (B21) Dobrořečte Hospodinu, jeho andělé, vy mocní hrdinové, kteří jeho slovo konáte, vy, kteří jeho slovo plníte poslušně!
21 (KJV) Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
21 (B21) Dobrořečte Hospodinu, všechny jeho zástupy, vy, jeho služebníci, kteří jste mu po vůli!
22 (KJV) Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.
22 (B21) Dobrořečte Hospodinu, všechna jeho stvoření, všude tam, kam sahá jeho vládnutí! Dobrořeč duše má Hospodinu!

Verš 8
The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Ex 34:6 - And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
Nm 14:18 - The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
Dt 5:10 - And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
Iz 57:16 - For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.
Jer 3:5 - Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.

To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
Dt 7:9 - Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

Z 103,5 - "Obnovuje mladosť ako orlovi" - sv. Hieronym k Iz 40,31: "Hovorievame, že starý orol omladne, keď mu vymenia krídla."
Z 103,8 - Tieto slová sú aj v Ex 34,6, kde ich hovorí sám Pán (porov. Ž 145,8).
Z 103,16 - "Nezostane po ňom ani stopa" (Ž 90,5; Iz 40,6-8; Jób 7,10; 8,18; 14,2 atď.). - Človek je úbohý, pominuteľný tvor, Božie milosrdenstvo a láska sú však večné.
