Žalmy

1 (KJV) Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.
1 (ROH) Modlitba biedneho, keď úpel v trápení a pred Hospodinom vylieval svoju žiaľbu.

2 (KJV) Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
2 (ROH) Hospodine, počuj moju modlitbu, a moje pokorné volanie nech prijde k tebe!

3 (KJV) For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.
3 (ROH) Neskrývaj predo mnou svojej tvári v deň, keď mi je úzko. Nakloň ku mne svoje ucho. V deň, keď volám, rýchle sa mi ozvi.

4 (KJV) My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.
4 (ROH) Lebo moje dni miznú jako dym a moje kosti sú vypálené jako ohnište.

5 (KJV) By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.
5 (ROH) Moje srdce je zbité jako bylina a schne, lebo som zabudol jesť svoj chlieb.

6 (KJV) I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
6 (ROH) Od hlasu môjho vzdychania prischla moja kosť k môjmu mäsu.

7 (KJV) I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
7 (ROH) Podobný som pelikánovi na púšti. Som ako sova v sboreninách.

8 (KJV) Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.
8 (ROH) Bdejem a som ako osamelý vrabec na streche.

9 (KJV) For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,
9 (ROH) Každý deň ma hanobia moji nepriatelia; tí, ktorí bláznia oproti mne, posmešne prisahajú na mňa.

10 (KJV) Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.
10 (ROH) Lebo jem popol ako chlieb a svoj nápoj miešam so slzami.

11 (KJV) My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
11 (ROH) Je to pre tvoje rozhnevanie sa a pre tvoj prchký hnev, lebo si ma vyzdvihol a hodil na zem.

12 (KJV) But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.
12 (ROH) Moje dni sú jako miznúci tieň a ja schnem ako bylina.

13 (KJV) Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
13 (ROH) Ale ty, Hospodine, trváš na veky a tvoja pamiatka na pokolenie a pokolenie.

14 (KJV) For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.
14 (ROH) Ty povstaneš a zľutuješ sa nad Sionom, lebo je čas učiniť mu milosrdenstvo, lebo už prišiel určený čas.

15 (KJV) So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

16 (KJV) When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
16 (ROH) A pohania sa budú báť mena Hospodinovho a všetci kráľovia zeme tvojej slávy.

17 (KJV) He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
17 (ROH) Lebo Hospodin vystaví Sion; ukáže sa vo svojej sláve.

18 (KJV) This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
18 (ROH) Pohliadne na modlitbu obnaženého a neopovrhne ich modlitbou.

19 (KJV) For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
19 (ROH) Zapíše sa to pre budúce pokolenie, a ľud, ktorý má byť stvorený, bude chváliť Hospodina,

20 (KJV) To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
20 (ROH) pretože pozrel s výsosti svojej svätosti, Hospodin, s nebies sa podíval na zem,

21 (KJV) To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
21 (ROH) aby počul stonanie väzňa, aby rozviazal synov smrti,

22 (KJV) When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
22 (ROH) aby rozprával meno Hospodinovo na Sione a jeho chválu v Jeruzaleme,

23 (KJV) He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.
23 (ROH) keď sa dovedna shromaždia národy a kráľovstvá, aby slúžily Hospodinovi.

24 (KJV) I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.
24 (ROH) Strápil moju silu na ceste, ukrátil moje dni.

25 (KJV) Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
25 (ROH) Vravel som: Môj Bože, neber ma preč v polovici mojich dní, veď tvoje roky sú cez pokolenia pokolení.

26 (KJV) They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
26 (ROH) Ty si tam predtým založil zem, a dielom tvojich rúk sú nebesia;

27 (KJV) But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
27 (ROH) ony zahynú, ale ty stojíš, a všetky zvetšejú ako rúcho; zameníš ich ako odev, a budú zamenené.

28 (KJV) The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.
28 (ROH) Ale ty si ten istý, a tvojim rokom nebude konca.

29 (ROH) Synovia tvojich služobníkov budú bývať, a ich semeno bude stáť pevne pred tebou.
