Jób 5, 1-27

1 (CPDV) Therefore call, if there are any who will respond to you, and turn to one or another of the saints.
1 (KAT) Krič, či niekto odpovie ti! Na ktorého z duchov sa obrátiš?

2 (CPDV) Truly, anger condemns the foolish to death, and envy kills the petty.
2 (KAT) Pošetilca ničí roztrpčenosť, blázna zasa žiarlivosť zabije.

3 (CPDV) I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I have cursed his excellence without hesitation.
3 (KAT) Pošetilca koreň pustiť zrel som, ale hneď som preklial jeho príbytok.

4 (CPDV) His sons will be far from prosperity and will be crushed at the gate, and there will be none who can rescue them.
4 (KAT) Jeho deti blaho nedosiahnu, v bránach zdeptajú ich, zástancu nemajú.

5 (CPDV) Their harvest, the starving will eat. The armed man will rob him, and the thirsty will drink his resources.
5 (KAT) Čo sebe nažali, poje hladný, ba aj sprostred tŕnia uchváti to; smädní vyčerpajú ich imanie.

6 (CPDV) Nothing on earth occurs without a reason, and sorrow does not rise from the earth.
6 (KAT) Veď nešťastie z prachu nevyrastá, ani bieda nevypučí z pôdy.

7 (CPDV) Man is born to labor, and the bird to fly.
7 (KAT) Človek si sám plodí trápenie, ako z ohňa vyletujú iskry.

8 (CPDV) Therefore, because of this, I will beg the Lord, and place my eloquence before God.
8 (KAT) Ja sa však iba k Pánovi utiekam, Bohu zverím svoje právo.

9 (CPDV) He does great and unfathomable and miraculous things without number.
9 (KAT) Preveľké, tajomné veci robí, skutky prepodivné, počtu im niet!

10 (CPDV) He gives rain over the face of the earth and irrigates all things with the waters.
10 (KAT) Povrchu zemskému on dažde dáva, zosiela tiež rosu na tvár polí.

11 (CPDV) He places the humble on high and encourages the grieving towards health.
11 (KAT) Ponížených vysoko pozdvihuje, tých, čo trúchlia, blaženými robí.

12 (CPDV) He dispels the thoughts of the spiteful, lest their hands be able to complete what they had begun.
12 (KAT) Chytrákov úmysly on celkom marí, že ich ruky vždy sú bez úspechu.

13 (CPDV) He catches the wise in their cleverness and dissipates the counsel of the perverse.
13 (KAT) Múdrych on v chytráctve ich polapuje, potuteľných plány sa nesplnia.

14 (CPDV) They will encounter darkness in the daytime, and they will grope at midday just as in the night.
14 (KAT) Aj za dňa bieleho do tmy rútia sa, napoludnie tápu ako v noci.

15 (CPDV) Thereafter, he will act to save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent.
15 (KAT) Úbožiaka chráni pred mečom ich úst, pred zlými rukami bedára,

16 (CPDV) And there will be hope for those in need, for iniquity will diminish its speech.
16 (KAT) takže človek ubitý môže dúfať, ničomnosť však ústa zavrie si.

17 (CPDV) Blessed is the man whom God corrects; therefore, do not reject the chastisement of the Lord.
17 (KAT) Koho Pán tu kára, blažený je. Trestom Všemocného nepohŕdaj!

18 (CPDV) For he wounds and he cures; he strikes and his hands will heal.
18 (KAT) On udiera, ale aj obväzuje, raní, no jeho ruky liečia aj.

19 (CPDV) He will deliver you into six tribulations, and in the seventh, evil will not touch you.
19 (KAT) Zo šiestich súžení ťa vyslobodí, siedme zlo ťa už nestihne.

20 (CPDV) During famine, he will rescue you from death, and during war, from the hand of the sword.
20 (KAT) Za hladu ťa zachráni od smrti, pred ostrím meča za vojny.

21 (CPDV) You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, and you will not fear calamity when it arrives.
21 (KAT) Pred šľahmi jazyka sa skryješ, neľakneš sa skazy, keď ťa stihne.

22 (CPDV) In desolation and in famine, you will laugh, and you will not dread the beasts of the earth.
22 (KAT) Vysmeješ sa z nešťastia, z hladomoru, ani zemskej zveri sa báť nebudeš.

23 (CPDV) For you are in harmony with the stones of the land, and the beasts of the earth will make peace with you.
23 (KAT) Ale aj s poľným kamením budeš zmluvu mať, aj poľná zverina bude žiť s tebou v pokoji.

24 (CPDV) And you will know that your home has peace, and, concerning your appearance, you will not sin.
24 (KAT) Uvidíš, že tvoj stan je bez poruchy, a keď prídeš domov, nepochybí tam nič.

25 (CPDV) Likewise, you will know that your offspring will be manifold and your progeny will be like the grass of the earth.
25 (KAT) Spoznáš, že tvoje potomstvo je početné a tvojich výhonkov je ako bylín na poli.

26 (CPDV) You will enter the grave with abundance, just as a crop of wheat is gathered in its time.
26 (KAT) Do hrobu zostúpiš vo vysokom veku, ako keď vŕšia snopy v pravom čase.

27 (CPDV) Behold, this is just as we have found it, which you have heard; walk it through your mind.
27 (KAT) Pozri, toto sme skúsili a tak to je. Počúvni a vezmi si to k srdcu!“

Verš 3

I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I have cursed his excellence without hesitation.

Verš 9

He does great and unfathomable and miraculous things without number.

Jób 9:10 - He accomplishes great and incomprehensible and miraculous things, which cannot be numbered.

Ž 72:18 - So, because of deceitfulness, truly, you have placed it before them. While they were being lifted up, you were casting them down.

Rim 11:33 - Oh, the depths of the richness of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are his judgments, and how unsearchable are his ways!

Verš 11

He places the humble on high and encourages the grieving towards health.

1Sam 2:7 - The Lord impoverishes, and he enriches. He humbles, and he lifts up.

Ž 113:7 - Before the face of the Lord, the earth was moved, before the face of the God of Jacob.

Verš 12

He dispels the thoughts of the spiteful, lest their hands be able to complete what they had begun.

Neh 4:15 - Then it happened that, when our enemies had heard that it had been reported to us, God defeated their counsel. And we all returned to the walls, each one to his own work.

Ž 33:10 - Fear the Lord, all you his saints. For there is no destitution for those who fear him.

Iz 8:10 - Undertake a plan, and it will be dissipated! Speak a word, and it will not be done! For God is with us.

Verš 13

He catches the wise in their cleverness and dissipates the counsel of the perverse.

1Kor 3:19 - For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. And so it has been written: “I will catch the wise in their own astuteness.”

Verš 14

They will encounter darkness in the daytime, and they will grope at midday just as in the night.

Dt 28:29 - And may you grope at midday, just as a blind man is accustomed to grope in darkness, and may your paths not be straight. And at all times may you suffer slander and be oppressed with violence, and may you have no one who may free you.

Verš 16

And there will be hope for those in need, for iniquity will diminish its speech.

Blessed is the man whom God corrects; therefore, do not reject the chastisement of the Lord.

Prís 3:11 - My son, do not discard the discipline of the Lord, and do not fall away when you are corrected by him.

Heb 12:5 - And you have forgotten the consolation which speaks to you like sons, saying: “My son, do not be willing to neglect the discipline of the Lord. Neither should you become weary, while being rebuked by him.”

Jak 1:12 - Blessed is the man who suffers temptation. For when he has been proven, he shall receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him.

Zjv 3:19 - Those whom I love, I rebuke and chastise. Therefore, be zealous and do penance.

Verš 18

For he wounds and he cures; he strikes and his hands will heal.

Dt 32:39 - See that I am alone, and there is no other god beside me. I will kill, and I will cause to live. I will strike, and I will heal. And there is no one who is able to rescue from my hand.

1Sam 2:6 - The Lord brings death, and he gives life. He leads away to death, and he brings back again.

Oz 6:1 - In their tribulation, they will arise early to me. Come, let us return to the Lord.

Verš 19

He will deliver you into six tribulations, and in the seventh, evil will not touch you.

Ž 91:3 - to announce your mercy in the morning, and your truth throughout the night,

Verš 23

For you are in harmony with the stones of the land, and the beasts of the earth will make peace with you.

Oz 2:18 - And in that day, I will strike a deal with them, with the beasts of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creatures of the earth. And I will crush the bow and the sword, and I will wipe away war from the earth. And I will let them sleep securely.

Job 5,1 - Nepomáha pokus a opovážlivosť človeka, keby chcel Boha ťahať pred súd za to, že musí znášať ťažký osud. Nijaký človek, ba ani anjel, by sa neodvážil zaujať úrad sudcu v tomto prípade, keby šlo o to, aby sa vynášal súd nad Bohom.

Job 5,2 - Boh iba pokorným, t.j. kajúcim, priznáva zvláštne milosti.

Job 5,4 - V bránach mesta konali sa súdy.

Job 5,6 - Utrpenie človeka nie je čisto výplodom prírody, ale sám hriešnik si je najčastejšie príčinou svojho utrpenia.

Job 5,17-27 - Úsek opisuje opätovné nadobudnutie šťastia trpiaceho človeka, ktorý zo svojej hriešnosti obráti sa k Bohu. Je to pre Jóba nepriame povzbudenie, aby sa usiloval v duchu pokánia k Bohu sa obrátiť. Má sa priznať k svojej hriešnosti, odprosiť Boha a oddať sa jeho milosrdenstvu. Boh nikoho nesklame.

Job 5,19 - Číslicový výrok, ktorý sedmičku uvádza ako pojem plnosti (porov. 33,14.29; 40,5; Prís 30,15 a i.).

Job 5,22 - Poľná úroda mala mnoho škodcov aj z radov zvierat. Tak hubila úrodu divá zver (Ez 14,21), myši (1 Sam 6,4 n.), kobylky (Joel 1, 4), mravce (Prís 6,6–8).

Job 5,23 - V kamenistej pôde darila sa oliva (29,6; Dt 32,13 n.) a najmä vinič.
