Kniha Jób

1 (KAT) Tu Jób odpovedal Pánovi:
1 (VUL) Respondens autem Iob Domino dixit:
1 (UKJV) Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

2 (KAT) „Nuž dobre viem ja, že ty všetko urobíš, nijaký tvoj zámer nemožno prekaziť.
2 (VUL) “ Scio quia omnia potes, et nulla te latet cogitatio.
2 (UKJV) I know that you can do every thing, and that no thought can be withheld from you.

3 (KAT) Hovoril som, lenže neuvážil som tie divy, čo chápať ver’ som nemohol.
3 (VUL) Quis est iste, qui celat consilium absque scientia? Ideo insipienter locutus sum et mirabilia, quae excederent scientiam meam.
3 (UKJV) "Who is he that hides counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. "

4 (KAT) Vypočuj ma, prosím, budem hovoriť, budem sa ťa pýtať a ty pouč mňa.
4 (VUL) Audi, et ego loquar; interrogabo te, et responde mihi.
4 (UKJV) Hear, I plead to you, and I will speak: I will demand of you, and declare you unto me.

5 (KAT) Len z počutia som teba dosiaľ poznával, lež moje oko teraz ťa už uzrelo.
5 (VUL) Auditu auris audivi te; nunc autem oculus meus videt te.
5 (UKJV) I have heard of you by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye sees you.

6 (KAT) Tak korím sa už, budem robiť pokánie a (posypem sa) prachom, taktiež popolom.“
6 (VUL) Idcirco ipse me reprehendo et ago paenitentiam in favilla et cinere ”.
6 (UKJV) Wherefore I detest myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

7 (KAT) Keď Pán dohovoril tie slová Jóbovi, povedal Temančanovi Elifazovi: „Môj hnev vzkypel proti tebe i proti tvojim dvom priateľom, lebo ste o mne nehovorili pravdivo ako môj služobník Jób.
7 (VUL) Postquam autem locutus est Dominus verba haec ad Iob, dixit ad Eliphaz Themanitem: “ Iratus est furor meus in te et in duos amicos tuos, quoniam non estis locuti coram me rectum sicut servus meus Iob.
7 (UKJV) And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends: for all of you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.

8 (KAT) Nuž vezmite si sedem býčkov a osem baránkov, choďte k môjmu služobníkovi Jóbovi a obetujte za seba celopal! A môj služobník Jób sa za vás pomodlí. Na neho budem mať ohľad a nepostihnem vás súžením, lebo ste o mne nehovorili pravdivo ako môj služobník Jób.“
8 (VUL) Sumite ergo vobis septem tauros et septem arietes et ite ad servum meum Iob et offerte holocaustum pro vobis; Iob autem servus meus orabit pro vobis. Faciem eius suscipiam, ut non vobis imputetur stultitia; neque enim locuti estis ad me recta sicut servus meus Iob ”.
8 (UKJV) "Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that all of you have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job. "

9 (KAT) Tu Temančan Elifaz, Šuachčan Bildad a Naamčan Sofar odišli a urobili ako im prikázal Pán. A Pán mal ohľad na Jóba.
9 (VUL) Abierunt ergo Eliphaz Themanites et Baldad Suhites et Sophar Naamathites et fecerunt, sicut locutus fuerat Dominus ad eos, et suscepit Dominus faciem Iob.
9 (UKJV) So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.

10 (KAT) Potom Pán zmenil Jóbov údel, lebo sa modlil za svojich druhov. A Pán dvojnásobne rozmnožil Jóbovo imanie.
10 (VUL) Dominus vertit sortem Iob, cum oraret ille pro amicis suis; et addidit Dominus omnia, quaecumque fuerant Iob, duplicia.
10 (UKJV) And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 (KAT) Tu prišli k nemu všetci jeho bratia a všetky jeho sestry a všetci jeho predošlí známi. Jedli s ním chlieb v jeho dome, ľutovali ho a potešovali ho vo všetkom tom trápení, ktoré Pán na neho zoslal. Každý mu daroval baránka a zlatý prsteň.
11 (VUL) Venerunt autem ad eum omnes fratres sui et universae sorores suae et cuncti, qui noverant eum prius; et comederunt cum eo panem in domo eius et moverunt super eum caput et consolati sunt eum super omni malo, quod intulerat Dominus super eum; et dederunt ei unusquisque argenteum unum et inaurem auream unam.
11 (UKJV) Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.

12 (KAT) A Pán požehnal koniec Jóbovho života viac ako jeho začiatok, takže mal štrnásťtisíc oviec, šesťtisíc tiav, tisíc záprahov rožného statku a tisíc oslíc.
12 (VUL) Dominus autem benedixit novissimis Iob magis quam principio eius; et facta sunt ei quattuordecim milia ovium et sex milia camelorum et mille iuga boum et mille asinae.
12 (UKJV) So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

13 (KAT) Mal tiež sedem synov a tri dcéry.
13 (VUL) Et fuerunt ei septem filii et tres filiae;
13 (UKJV) He had also seven sons and three daughters.

14 (KAT) Jednej dal meno Holubica, druhej meno Škorica, tretej meno Roh líčidla.
14 (VUL) et vocavit nomen unius Columbam et nomen secundae Cassiam et nomen tertiae Cornustibii.
14 (UKJV) "And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch. "

15 (KAT) A v šírom kraji nebolo takých krásnych žien ako Jóbove dcéry. A otec im dal podiel na dedičstve s ich bratmi.
15 (VUL) Non sunt autem inventae mulieres speciosae sicut filiae Iob in universa terra; deditque eis pater suus hereditatem inter fratres earum.
15 (UKJV) And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

16 (KAT) Jób žil potom ešte stoštyridsať rokov a uzrel svoje deti i deti svojich detí až do štvrtého pokolenia.
16 (VUL) Vixit autem Iob post haec centum quadraginta annis et vidit filios suos et filios filiorum suorum usque ad quartam generationem; et mortuus est senex et plenus dierum.
16 (UKJV) After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations.

17 (KAT) A zomrel Jób starý a sýty (svojich) dní.

17 (UKJV) So Job died, being old and full of days.
