2 (KAT) Nenapajedí sa, keď ho vyrušia? Ktože vtedy pred ním môže vydržať?
2 (VUL) Nemo tam audax, ut suscitet eum. Quis enim resistere potest vultui eius?
2 (UKJV) Can you put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?

3 (KAT) Kto sprotivil sa mu, a zachránil sa? Pod šírym ver’ nebom nikto zaiste.
3 (VUL) Quis eum aggressus est et salvus fuit? Sub omni caelo quisnam?
3 (UKJV) Will he make many supplications unto you? will he speak soft words unto you?

4 (KAT) Tiež o údoch jeho mlčať nebudem, a o jeho moci, ktorej rovnej niet.
4 (VUL) Non tacebo super membra eius et eloquar robur et gratiam struis.
4 (UKJV) Will he make a covenant with you? will you take him for a servant for ever?

5 (KAT) Ktože môže zobliecť vrchný odev mu, do dvojitého mu vniknúť brnenia?
5 (VUL) Quis revelabit faciem indumenti eius, et duplicia mandibulae eius quis intrabit?
5 (UKJV) Will you play with him as with a bird? or will you bind him for your maidens?

6 (KAT) Brány tlamy jeho ktože rozovrie? Hrôza obkľučuje jeho zubiská.
6 (VUL) Portas vultus eius quis aperiet? Per gyrum dentium eius formido.
6 (UKJV) Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?

7 (KAT) Ako husté štíty jeho chrbát je, pospájané tmelom sťaby z kremeňa.
7 (VUL) Corpus illius quasi scuta fusilia, compactum sigillo siliceo:

8 (KAT) Tesno jeden s druhým pospájané sú, ani dych by cez ne vskutku neprešiel.
8 (VUL) unum uni coniungitur, et ne spiraculum quidem incedit per ea;
8 (UKJV) Lay your hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.

9 (KAT) Priliehajú takto k sebe navzájom, držia pohromade, nerozštiepia sa.
9 (VUL) unum alteri adhaeret, et tenentes se nequaquam separantur.
9 (UKJV) Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?

10 (KAT) Keď sa mu (raz) kýchne, až sa zablysne, jeho oči sú sťa brvy zornice.
10 (VUL) Sternutatio eius favillae ignis, et oculi eius ut palpebrae diluculi.
10 (UKJV) None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?

11 (KAT) Z jeho pažeráka jak by plameň šiel, sťaby sršali tiež iskry ohnivé.

14 (KAT) V jeho šiji iste sila spočíva, všade ho predchádza hrôza desivá.
14 (VUL) In collo eius morabitur fortitudo, et faciem eius praecedit angor.
14 (UKJV) Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.

15 (KAT) Svaly jeho tela pevne poja sa, môžeš tlačiť na ne, nepovolia však.
15 (VUL) Palearia eius cohaerentia sibi compressa non moventur.
15 (UKJV) His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.

16 (KAT) Tuhé ani kameň jeho srdce je, ani spodný žarnov, také tvrdé je.
16 (VUL) Cor eius induratur tamquam lapis et duratur quasi mola inferior.
16 (UKJV) One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.

17 (KAT) Pred jeho velebou vlny trasú sa, ba aj mora príboj (pred ním) ustúpi.
17 (VUL) Cum surrexerit, tremunt fortes et ab undis retrorsum convertuntur.
17 (UKJV) They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.

18 (KAT) Meč ak zasiahne ho, nič mu nespraví, ani pika, oštep, strela vôbec nič.
18 (VUL) Qui impegerit in eum, gladius eius non stabit nec hasta neque pilum neque thorax;
18 (UKJV) By his exhaling a light does shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.

19 (KAT) Železo on má len sťaby za sečku, mosadz mu je iba drevom práchnivým.
19 (VUL) reputat enim quasi paleas ferrum et quasi lignum putridum aes.

21 (KAT) Kyj sa mu jak steblo tŕstia pozdáva, keď oštepy svištia, on sa rehoce.
21 (VUL) Quasi stipulam aestimat fustem et deridet vibrantem acinacem.
21 (UKJV) His breath kindles coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.

22 (KAT) Pod ním jak by boli ostré črepiny, sanicu on (nimi) v bahne vytlačí.
22 (VUL) Sub ipso acumina testae, et sternit tribula super lutum.
22 (UKJV) In his neck remains strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.

23 (KAT) Zvíri ani kotol hlbočinu on z mora si nádobku robí na olej.
23 (VUL) Fervescere facit quasi ollam profundum et mare ponit quasi vas unguentarium.
23 (UKJV) "The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. "
