Jób 38, 1-41

1 (KJV) Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
1 (B21) Vtom Hospodin promluvil k Jobovi z vichru:

2 (KJV) Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
2 (B21) "Kdo to zatemňuje mé záměry řečmi, v nichž není poznání?

3 (KJV) Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
3 (B21) Jako muž si teď vyhrň rukávy, budu se tě ptát a ty mě poučíš:

4 (KJV) Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
4 (B21) Kde jsi byl, když jsem zemi založil? Jen pověz, když tomu rozumíš.

5 (KJV) Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
5 (B21) Kdo určil její rozměry? To jistě víš! Kdopak ji mírou přeměřil?

6 (KJV) Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
6 (B21) Do čeho jsou zapuštěny její základy? Kdo položil její kámen úhelný,

7 (KJV) When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
7 (B21) když jitřní hvězdy sborem zpívaly a všichni Boží synové jásali radostí?

8 (KJV) Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?
8 (B21) Kdo že to dveřmi moře uzavřel, když se tehdy z lůna vyvalilo ven,

9 (KJV) When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,
9 (B21) když jsem je přioblékl oblakem, zahalil mračnem jako do plenek,

10 (KJV) And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,
10 (B21) když jsem mu vytyčil meze své, závory osadil na dveře

11 (KJV) And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
11 (B21) a řekl: ‚Smíš až sem, a dál už ne, tvé vzduté vlny se zlomí zde'?

12 (KJV) Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;
12 (B21) Poručil jsi jitru někdy v životě, ukázals někdy místo Jitřence,

13 (KJV) That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
13 (B21) aby uchopila zem za okraje a ničemy z ní hnala ven?

14 (KJV) It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.
14 (B21) Tehdy se země tvaruje jak jíl pod pečetí, jak roucho začíná hýřit barvami.

15 (KJV) And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
15 (B21) Ničemové tehdy své světlo ztrácejí, jejich napřažená paže se přerazí.

16 (KJV) Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?
16 (B21) Pronikls tam, kde moře pramení, prošel ses po dně propasti?

17 (KJV) Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
17 (B21) Odhalily se ti brány smrti? Spatřil jsi brány temnoty?

18 (KJV) Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.
18 (B21) Pochopils zemské rozměry? Jen pověz, když všemu rozumíš!

19 (KJV) Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
19 (B21) Kudy vede cesta k příbytku světla? A kde přebývá temnota?

20 (KJV) That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?
20 (B21) Umíš je dovést na jejich místa? Znáš stezku do jejich domova?

21 (KJV) Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?
21 (B21) Dávno ses narodil, jistě to znáš, délka tvého života je nesmírná!

22 (KJV) Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
22 (B21) Dostal ses do sněžných skladišť, viděl jsi, kde se kroupy skladují,

23 (KJV) Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
23 (B21) které uchovávám pro čas soužení, pro dny bojů a válčení?

24 (KJV) By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?
24 (B21) Kudy vede cesta, kterou se štěpí blesky? Odkud se východní vítr žene na zemi?

25 (KJV) Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
25 (B21) Kdo vyryl koryto vodní průtrži a dráhu pro mrak bouřkový,

26 (KJV) To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;
26 (B21) aby zaléval liduprázdnou zemi i poušť, kde nikdo nebydlí,

27 (KJV) To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?
27 (B21) aby zavlažil opuštěné trosky a novou trávu nechal vyrašit?

28 (KJV) Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
28 (B21) Má snad déšť otce? Kdo počal rosné krůpěje?

29 (KJV) Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
29 (B21) Z kterého lůna vyšel led? Kdo rodí jíní nebeské,

30 (KJV) The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
30 (B21) když voda ztvrdne na kámen, povrch propasti když zamrzne?

31 (KJV) Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
31 (B21) Umíš Plejády pouty připoutat anebo povolit Orionův pás?

32 (KJV) Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?
32 (B21) Dáváš v jejich čas vyjít planetám, vedeš Medvědici a její mláďata?

33 (KJV) Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
33 (B21) Ovládáš nebeská pravidla? Zařídíš, aby se jimi země řídila?

34 (KJV) Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?
34 (B21) Dokážeš na mrak zavolat, aby tě vodní průtrž zalila?

35 (KJV) Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?
35 (B21) Umíš na cestu blesky vysílat? Ohlásí se ti: ‚Zde nás máš'?

36 (KJV) Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?
36 (B21) Kdo moudrost ibisovi dal, kdo vložil rozum do kohouta?

37 (KJV) Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,
37 (B21) Kdo má tu moudrost, aby mraky spočítal, kdo nebeské džbány může vylévat,

38 (KJV) When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?
38 (B21) když se prach speče jako slitina, když hlína pevně drží ve hroudách?

39 (KJV) Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,
39 (B21) Umíš ulovit kořist pro lvici, můžeš hlad lvíčat nasytit,

40 (KJV) When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?
40 (B21) když se krčí ve svých peleších, když v úkrytu v houští číhají?

41 (KJV) Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.
41 (B21) Kdo připravuje pokrm krkavci, když jeho mláďata k Bohu volají, když bloudí kolem a nemají co jíst?

Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?

Jer 31:35 - Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

Jób 42:3 - Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,

Gn 1:9 - And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

Jób 26:10 - He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.

Ž 33:7 - He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.

Ž 104:9 - Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

Prís 8:29 - When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

Jer 5:22 - Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.

Ž 147:9 - He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

Mt 6:26 - Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Verš 36

Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?

Jób 32:8 - But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

Kaz 2:26 - For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Dan 1:17 - As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?

Ž 107:35 - He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

Verš 31

Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

Jób 9:9 - Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

Am 5:8 - Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
