Jób 35, 1-16

1 (CPDV) After this, Eliu again spoke in this way:
1 (ROH) A ešte odpovedal Elíhu a riekol:

2 (CPDV) Does it seem right to you in your thoughts, that you should say, “I am more just than God?”
2 (ROH) Či to považuješ za súd? Hovoríš: Moja spravedlivosť je nad silného Boha.

3 (CPDV) For you said, “Having done what is right does not please you,” and, “How will it benefit you, if I sin?”
3 (ROH) Lebo hovoríš: Čo ti to prospeje? Čo mi to pomôže viac, ako keď budem hrešiť?

4 (CPDV) And so, I will respond to your words, and to your friends who are with you.
4 (ROH) Ja ti dám odpoveď i tvojim priateľom s tebou.

5 (CPDV) Look up towards heaven and consider; also, think about the sky, which is higher than you.
5 (ROH) Pozri na nebesia a vidz a pozoruj oblaky! Sú vyššie ako ty.

6 (CPDV) If you sin, how will it hurt him? And if your iniquities are multiplied, what will you do against him?
6 (ROH) Ak budeš hrešiť, čo mu tým urobíš? A jestli bude mnoho tvojich prestúpení, čo mu učiníš?

7 (CPDV) Furthermore, if you act justly, what will you give him, or what will he receive from your hand?
7 (ROH) Ak budeš spravedlivý, čo mu tým dáš? Alebo čo vezme z tvojej ruky?

8 (CPDV) Your impiety may hurt a man who is like you, though your justice may help the son of the man.
8 (ROH) Tvoja bezbožnosť uškodí človekovi jako si ty, a tvoja spravedlivosť prospeje synovi človeka.

9 (CPDV) Because of the multitude of false accusers, they will cry out; and they will lament because of the strong arm of the tyrants.
9 (ROH) Kričia pre množstvo útisku; volajú o pomoc pre tvrdé rameno mnohí.

10 (CPDV) Yet he has not said: “Where is God, who made me, who has given songs in the night,
10 (ROH) Ale človek nepovie: Kde je Bôh, ktorý ma učinil, ktorý dáva piesne vnoci,

11 (CPDV) who teaches us in addition to the beasts of the earth, and who educates us along with the birds of the air?”
11 (ROH) ktorý nás vyučuje, aby sme boli rozumnejší ako hovädá zeme, a činí nás múdrejších ako vtáctvo nebies?

12 (CPDV) There they will cry, and he will not heed them, because of the arrogance of the wicked.
12 (ROH) Tam potom kričia, ale sa neohlasuje, pre pýchu zlých ľudí.

13 (CPDV) Therefore, God does not hear in vain, and the Almighty will look into each and every case.
13 (ROH) Isté je, že silný Bôh nepočuje márnosti, ani Všemohúci nebude hľadieť na to.

14 (CPDV) And so, when you say, “He does not examine,” be judged before him, but wait for him.
14 (ROH) A čo ešte, keď hovoríš: Neuvidíš ho. - Súd je pred ním. Očakávaj na neho!

15 (CPDV) For, at the present time, he does not bring forth his fury, nor does he punish sin exceedingly.
15 (ROH) Ale teraz istotne navštívi jeho hnev ničotu, a on nepozná nijakej prílišnej spupnosti.

16 (CPDV) Therefore, Job has opened his mouth in vain and has multiplied words without knowledge.
16 (ROH) A Job otvára svoje ústa na márnosť a množí svoje slová bez známosti.
