Biblia - Sväté písmo

(KJV - Anglický - King James)

Jób 32, 1-22

1 (KJV) So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

2 (KJV) Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

3 (KJV) Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

4 (KJV) Now Elihu had waited till Job had spoken, because they were elder than he.
4 (B21) Dokud mluvili s Jobem, Elihu čekal, protože byli starší než on.

5 (KJV) When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.

6 (KJV) And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.

7 (KJV) I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.
7 (B21) Říkal jsem si: ‚Ať mluví starší, dříve narození ať učí moudrosti.'

8 (KJV) But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

9 (KJV) Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.
9 (B21) Dříve narození nejsou vždy moudřejší, starší nemusejí mít nejlepší úsudky.

10 (KJV) Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.
10 (B21) A proto říkám: Naslouchejte mi, teď zas já vyslovím své mínění.

11 (KJV) Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.
11 (B21) Dokud jste mluvili, já jsem čekal, pečlivě jsem naslouchal vašim úvahám. Dokud jste hledali správná slova,

12 (KJV) Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:
12 (B21) pozorně jsem vás sledoval. Joba však nikdo z vás usvědčit neuměl, nikdo jste pro něj nenašli odpověď.

13 (KJV) Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.
13 (B21) Jen neříkejte: ‚Našli jsme moudré řešení, Bůh, a ne člověk ať ho usvědčí!'

14 (KJV) Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.

15 (KJV) They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.
15 (B21) Zaraženi jsou, bez odpovědi, nemají, co by k tomu dodali!

16 (KJV) When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)
16 (B21) To mám čekat dál, když už nic neříkají, když stojí na místě, odpověď nemají?

17 (KJV) I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

18 (KJV) For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.
18 (B21) Jsem totiž přímo přeplněný slovy, duch mi roztahuje všechny vnitřnosti.

19 (KJV) Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

20 (KJV) I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.
20 (B21) Musím promluvit, abych si ulevil, otevřu ústa a odpovím!

21 (KJV) Let me not, I pray you, accept any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.
21 (B21) Nikomu jistě nebudu stranit, nikomu nechci lichotit.

22 (KJV) For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
22 (B21) Lichotit totiž ani neumím - to by mě můj Stvořitel rychle odstranil!
