1 (KAT) Jób pokračoval vo svojich výrokoch:
1 (VUL) Addidit quoque Iob assumens parabolam suam et di xit:
1 (UKJV) Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,

2 (VUL) “ Quis mihi tribuat, ut sim iuxta menses pristinos, secundum dies, quibus Deus custodiebat me?
2 (UKJV) "Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me; "

3 (UKJV) "When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness; "

4 (KAT) Jak bývalo mi v dňoch mojej jesene, keď sám Boh ochraňoval môj stan,
4 (VUL) Sicut fui in diebus adulescentiae meae, quando familiaris Deus erat in tabernaculo meo,
4 (UKJV) "As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; "

5 (KAT) keď ešte Všemohúci býval so mnou, keď moje dietky boli okolo mňa,
5 (VUL) quando erat Omnipotens mecum, et in circuitu meo pueri mei,
5 (UKJV) "When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me; "

6 (KAT) keď nohy mliekom sa mi temer brodili, keď tvrdá skala tiekla olejom.
6 (VUL) quando lavabam pedes meos lacte, et petra fundebat mihi rivos olei.
6 (UKJV) "When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; "

7 (UKJV) When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street!

8 (KAT) zhliadli ma mladí, hneď sa poukrývali, a starci vstali, až sa vzpriamili.
8 (VUL) videbant me iuvenes et abscondebantur, et senes assurgentes stabant.
8 (UKJV) The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up.

9 (VUL) Principes cessabant loqui et digitum superponebant ori suo.
9 (UKJV) The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.

10 (VUL) Vocem suam cohibebant duces, et lingua eorum palato suo adhaerebat.
10 (UKJV) The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.

11 (KAT) To ucho čulo, hneď mi blahožičilo, to oko zrelo, pre mňa svedčilo.
11 (VUL) Auris audiens beatificabat me, et oculus videns testimonium reddebat mihi,
11 (UKJV) "When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me: "

12 (UKJV) Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.

13 (KAT) Ku mne sa nieslo požehnanie úbohých a radosť lial som vdove do srdca.
13 (VUL) Benedictio perituri super me veniebat, et cor viduae iubilare feci.
13 (UKJV) The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

14 (KAT) Ja spravodlivosť odel som si, ona mňa, mne právo bolo rúchom, turbanom.
14 (VUL) Iustitia indutus sum et vestivi me, sicut vestimento et diademate, iudicio meo.
14 (UKJV) I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.

15 (VUL) Oculus fui caeco et pes claudo;
15 (UKJV) I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.

16 (VUL) pater eram pauperum et causam viri ignoti diligentissime investigabam.
16 (UKJV) I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

17 (KAT) Zločincovi som rozbil čeľuste a z jeho zubov korisť vyrval som.
17 (UKJV) And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.

18 (KAT) Nuž vravel som si: »V hniezde svojom vydýchnem a sťaby piesok dni si rozmnožím.
18 (VUL) Dicebamque: In nidulo meo moriar et sicut palma multiplicabo dies.
18 (UKJV) Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand.

19 (VUL) Radix mea aperta est secus aquas, et ros morabitur in ramis meis.
19 (UKJV) My root was spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch.

20 (KAT) Aj sláva vo mne nová bude vždy a v mojej ruke luk sa omladí.«
20 (VUL) Gloria mea semper innovabitur, et arcus meus in manu mea instaurabitur.
20 (UKJV) My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand.

21 (KAT) Čo ma počúvali, celkom ticho ostali a moju radu s túžbou čakali.
21 (VUL) Qui me audiebant, blandiebantur et intenti tacebant ad consilium meum.
21 (UKJV) Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel.

22 (KAT) Dohovoril som, nerobili námietky a moje slová na nich kvapkali.
22 (VUL) Verbis meis addere nihil audebant, et super illos stillabat eloquium meum.
22 (UKJV) "After my words they spoke not again; and my speech dropped upon them. "

23 (VUL) Exspectabant me sicut pluviam et os suum aperiebant quasi ad imbrem serotinum.
23 (UKJV) "And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain. "

24 (UKJV) "If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down. "

25 (KAT) Im smer som určil, bol som im tiež na čele, sťa kráľ som trónil vo vojsku, kam viedol som ich, tam sa pobrali.
25 (VUL) Si voluissem ire ad eos, sedebam primus; cumque sederem quasi rex, circumstante exercitu, eram tamen maerentium consolator.
25 (UKJV) I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforts the mourners.

Job 29,25 - Určil som, čo majú robiť, a všetci ma poslúchali vo vykonaní mojich rozkazov, ako to robia vojaci, keď im velí ich kráľovský vojvodca.
