Jób 28, 1-28

1 (UKJV) Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.
1 (KAT) Zaiste striebro má svoje náleziská a zlato miesto, kde ho vyplavujú.

2 (UKJV) Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.
2 (KAT) Železo zo zeme dobývajú taktiež a tvrdý kameň obráti sa na meď.

3 (UKJV) He sets an end to darkness, and searches out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.
3 (KAT) Temnotám hranice oni vymerali a dolujú už až po najďalšie medze i kamenie ver’, kde temravy, tône.

4 (UKJV) "The flood breaks out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men. "
4 (KAT) Chodby si prekopal cudzí národ také, že na ne celkom zabúdajú nohy, a chvejú, vznášajú sa ponad ľudí.

5 (UKJV) As for the earth, out of it comes bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.
5 (KAT) Pod zemou, na ktorej (zrno na) chlieb rástlo, je všetko ako ohňom spustošené.

6 (UKJV) The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it has dust of gold.
6 (KAT) V končinách, v ktorých je zafírové skálie a zlatý prášok v sebe skrytý majú,

7 (UKJV) There is a path which no fowl knows, and which the vulture's eye has not seen:
7 (KAT) sú zasa chodníky, že ich orol nezná a nezbadá ich ani oko supa.

8 (UKJV) The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.
8 (KAT) Nijaká divá zver po nich nekráčala, neprešiel po nej ani lev (doposiaľ).

9 (UKJV) "He puts forth his hand upon the rock; he overturns the mountains by the roots. "
9 (KAT) Aj na tvrdý kameň položili ruku a od základov vrchy prevrátili.

10 (UKJV) "He cuts out rivers among the rocks; and his eye sees every precious thing. "
10 (KAT) Kanály povytesávali v skale a všetko, čo cenné je, uzrelo ich oko.

11 (UKJV) "He binds the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid brings he forth to light. "
11 (KAT) Aj riečne pramene presliedili dobre a skryté veci na svit vynosili.

12 (UKJV) But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
12 (KAT) Odkiaľ teda vyviera tá múdrosť a kde je to umu nálezisko?

13 (UKJV) "Man knows not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living. "
13 (KAT) Jej cenu nepozná ani jeden človek a v kraji živých nijak nájsť sa nedá.

14 (UKJV) The depth says, It is not in me: and the sea says, It is not with me.
14 (KAT) Hĺbka vraví: »Vo mne nie je veru« a more hovorí: »Ja ju tobôž nemám.«

15 (UKJV) It cannot be got for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
15 (KAT) Nedáva sa za ňu ani rýdze zlato, ani neváži sa striebro za jej menu.

16 (UKJV) It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
16 (KAT) Jej neblíži sa cenou ni zlato ofírske, ani ónyx vzácny, kameň zafírový.

17 (UKJV) The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.
17 (KAT) Zlato nie, sklo tiež nie, jej sa nevyrovná, ju nevymeníš za zlatú nádobu.

18 (UKJV) No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
18 (KAT) Koraly, kryštály nehodno spomenúť, bo múdrosť získať si je nad všetky perly.

19 (UKJV) The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
19 (KAT) Veď sa jej nerovná topás etiópsky a zlato čistené nemôže ju zvážiť.

20 (UKJV) Whence then comes wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
20 (KAT) Odkiaľže vychádza teda táto múdrosť a kde je to umu vlastné nálezisko?

21 (UKJV) Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
21 (KAT) Ukrytá je očiam všetkých živých tvorov, utajená je aj nebeskému vtáctvu.

22 (UKJV) Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
22 (KAT) Zhubca aj so smrťou toto prehlasujú: »My počuli sme vravieť o nej iba.«

23 (UKJV) God understands the way thereof, and he knows the place thereof.
23 (KAT) Boh jediný len cestu ku nej pozná a iba on sám vie, kde jej bydlisko je,

24 (UKJV) "For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole heaven; "
24 (KAT) lebo on rozhľad má k samým medziam zeme a vidí všetko, čo len pod nebom je.

25 (UKJV) "To make the weight for the winds; and he weights the waters by measure. "
25 (KAT) Vtedy, keď určoval vetru jeho váhu a presnou mierou odmeriaval vody,

26 (UKJV) When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:
26 (KAT) aby takto určil jeho zákon dažďu a dráhu vlastnú hučaniu i hromu,

27 (UKJV) "Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out. "
27 (KAT) vtedy ju uvidel, presne vypočítal a naskrze spoznal, celkom prenikol ju.

28 (UKJV) "And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. "
28 (KAT) Človeku povedal: »Hľa, bázeň pred Pánom, to je táto múdrosť rozumnosť je zasa vystríhať sa zlého.«“

Verš 14

The depth says, It is not in me: and the sea says, It is not with me.

Jób 28:22 - Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.

Verš 15

It cannot be got for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

Prís 3:14 - For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Prís 8:11 - "For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. "

Prís 8:19 - "My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. "

Prís 16:16 - How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

Whence then comes wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?

Jób 28:12 - But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?

Verš 22

Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.

Jób 28:14 - The depth says, It is not in me: and the sea says, It is not with me.

Verš 25

"To make the weight for the winds; and he weights the waters by measure. "

Prís 8:29 - When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

Verš 28

"And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. "

Ž 111:10 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures for ever.

Prís 1:7 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Prís 9:10 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Job 28,1n - Umiestnenie a originálny význam tejto vsuvky 28. hl. v dialógu Jóbových priateľov zostáva nejasný. Pripomína Knihu prísloví 8,22 n., kde sa opisuje múdrosť ako "inšpirátorka" prvotných Božích diel a "osnovateľka" človeka. Táto kapitola ju oslavuje ako neprístupnú človeku. Kniha proroka Barucha preberá tú istú tému, ale hovorí o múdrosti, ktorá sa zjavila Izraelovi v Zákone. Jedná sa teda o múdrosť, ktorá má transcendentálnu povahu. Do nej sa vteľuje tajomstvo Božích ciest, ona je časťou atribútu Božej múdrosti. Teraz je tento atribút personifikovaný a hoci človek vyvíja veľké úsilie, aby ju dosiahol, jej tajomstvo, známe iba Bohu, ho presahuje.

Job 28,4 - Osnova je veľmi nejasná. Je porušená najskôr preto, že pisár pri odpisovaní nechápal, že sa tu opisuje, ako si preráža človek podzemné chodby do vnútra zeme, odkiaľ vynášal na svetlo cennú rudu. Mohlo by sa preložiť aj takto: Prerúbe údolia, akoby ich pílou (rezal) – po ktorých noha zabúda chodiť – pri čerpaní visia vzdialení od ľudí.

Job 28,17 - Sklo – používané v dávnej dobe na výrobu nádob alebo aj na výrobu ozdobných predmetov – pokladali za veľmi cennú a vzácnu hmotu.

Job 28,23-27 - Múdrosť ľudská je iba čiastočná a aj ona má svoj prameň jedine v Bohu.

Job 28,27 - Boh jediný je majiteľom všetkej múdrosti a výlučne on oznamuje ľuďom pravú múdrosť. Pravá múdrosť pre nich pozostáva v bázni Božej, t. j. v pokornom a vernom zachovávaní mravného zákona, ktorého pôvodcom je Boh.
