1 (UKJV) Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,
1 (KAT) Tu Jób začal opäť hovoriť:
2 (UKJV) "As God lives, who has taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who has vexed my soul; "
2 (KAT) „Ako žije Boh, čo odobral mi právo, a Všemohúci, čo ma roztrpčil,
3 (UKJV) "All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils; "
3 (KAT) kým vo mne duša ešte bude, kým v mojich nozdrách trvá Boží dych,
4 (UKJV) My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
4 (KAT) nuž moje pery nepovedia neprávosť, ani môj jazyk nepreriekne lož.
5 (UKJV) God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
5 (KAT) Mne nenapadne, by som vám za pravdu dal, kým dýcham, nedám si vziať statočnosť.
6 (UKJV) My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
6 (KAT) Som v práve iste, toho nevzdávam sa, mňa za dni moje srdce nekarhá.
7 (UKJV) Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that rises up against me as the unrighteous.
7 (KAT) Nech ako bezbožník má sa aj môj nepriateľ, ako naničhodník môj odporca!
8 (UKJV) For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he has gained, when God takes away his soul?
8 (KAT) Ak zlostník prosí, akú nádej môže mať, keď svoju dušu k Bohu povznesie?
9 (UKJV) Will God hear his cry when trouble comes upon him?
9 (KAT) Či jeho vzlykot Boh raz azda vyslyší, keď postihne ho dáke súženie?
10 (UKJV) Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
10 (KAT) Vari sa bude môcť kochať vo Všemohúcom a každú chvíľu volať Boha o pomoc?!
11 (UKJV) I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
11 (KAT) Nuž poučím vás, ako si Boh počína, a ciele Všemocného neskryjem.
12 (UKJV) "Behold, all you yourselves have seen it; why then are all of you thus altogether vain? "
12 (KAT) Veď ak ste všetci sami toto videli, tak hlúpo konať ako môžete?!
13 (UKJV) This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
13 (KAT) Bezbožný má ten podiel pred Bohom, ten údel dostane tyran od Všemohúceho:
14 (UKJV) If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
14 (KAT) Ak synov početných má, sú len pod meč, výhonky mu chleba dosť nemajú.
15 (UKJV) Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.
15 (KAT) Tých, čo po ňom zostali, smrť do hrobu schváti, ani vdovy nezaplačú po nich.
16 (UKJV) "Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay; "
16 (KAT) Hoci striebra nahromadil ani prachu, ako blata nazhŕňal rúch drahých,
17 (UKJV) He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
17 (KAT) statočný si oblečie, čo zhŕňal on, striebro nevinný zas po ňom zdedí.
18 (UKJV) He builds his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper makes.
18 (KAT) Palác dal si postaviť sťa hniezdo, ako keď si hájnik búdku zrobí.
19 (UKJV) The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he opens his eyes, and he is not.
19 (KAT) Bohatý však ľahne si a nevstane už, oči otvoriť chce, už ho nieto.
20 (UKJV) Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest steals him away in the night.
20 (KAT) Hrôzy ako záplava ho stihnú, v noci zasa víchor uchváti ho.
21 (UKJV) The east wind carries him away, and he departs: and as a storm hurls him out of his place.
21 (KAT) Vietor predný schmatne ho a pominie sa, odfúkne ho z miesta, kde si sídli.
22 (UKJV) For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
22 (KAT) Neľútostne sa naň stále vrhá, pred bijúcou rukou prchať musí.
23 (UKJV) Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
23 (KAT) Zatlieskajú si nad ním rukami a vypískajú ho z jeho miesta.

Verš 8
For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he has gained, when God takes away his soul?
Mt 16:26 - For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Lk 12:20 - But God said unto him, You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have provided?

Will God hear his cry when trouble comes upon him?
Jób 35:12 - There they cry, but none gives answer, because of the pride of evil men.
Ž 18:41 - They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.
Ž 109:7 - When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
Prís 1:28 - "Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: "
Prís 28:9 - He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Iz 1:15 - And when all of you spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when all of you make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
Jer 14:12 - "When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence. "
Ez 8:18 - Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
Mi 3:4 - Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.
Jn 9:31 - Now we know that God hears not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and does his will, him he hears.
Jak 4:3 - All of you ask, and receive not, because all of you ask amiss, that all of you may consume it upon your lusts.

This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
Jób 20:29 - This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
Verš 14
If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
Dt 28:41 - "You shall brought forth sons and daughters, but you shall not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity. "
Oz 9:13 - Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.
Verš 15
Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.
Ž 78:64 - "Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation. "
Verš 17
He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
Prís 28:8 - He that by interest and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
Kaz 2:26 - For God gives to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
Verš 19
The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he opens his eyes, and he is not.
Ž 49:17 - For when he dies he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
Verš 20
Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest steals him away in the night.
Jób 15:21 - A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
Jób 18:11 - Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.
Job 27,8 - Verš 8 doslovne znie: "Lebo načo ešte čaká bezbožník – až mu raz Božstvo vytrhne dušu?"
Job 27,18 - "Palác dal si postaviť sťa hniezdo". – Táto čiastka verša je v hebrejskom texte neistá. Niektorí prekladajú: dom si vystaval, aký má moľ (t. j. z hmoty nestálej, ktorá sa ide rozpadnúť, ako látka moľami zožratá). Iní zasa majú: Veď vybudoval si akoby z trávy dom… podobný chyžke, akú si schystá hájnik.
