1 (KJV) Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,
1 (B21) A Job pokračoval ve své promluvě:
2 (KJV) As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
2 (B21) "Při Bohu živém, který mi upřel právo, při Všemohoucím, jenž naplnil mě trpkostí,
3 (KJV) All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
3 (B21) přísahám, že dokud je ve mně život, dokud mám v chřípí Boží dýchání,
4 (KJV) My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
4 (B21) nevypustím ze rtů žádnou podlost, nebudu mluvit jazykem falešným.
5 (KJV) God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
5 (B21) V žádném případě vám nedám za pravdu, své bezúhonnosti se jakživ nezřeknu.
6 (KJV) My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
6 (B21) Trvám na své nevině - té se nepustím, po celý život mám čisté svědomí!
7 (KJV) Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.
7 (B21) Kéž by mí protivníci byli odhaleni jako zlosyni a ti, kdo mě napadají, jako zločinci!
8 (KJV) For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
8 (B21) Copak má bezbožný nějakou naději, když ho Bůh zabíjí, obírá o duši?
9 (KJV) Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
9 (B21) Copak Bůh vyslyší jeho volání, když na něj přijde soužení?
10 (KJV) Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
10 (B21) Copak je Všemohoucí jeho rozkoší? Volá snad k Bohu bez ustání?
11 (KJV) I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
11 (B21) Poučil jsem vás o Božím jednání, o Všemohoucím jsem nic netajil.
12 (KJV) Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?
12 (B21) Vždyť jste to všichni sami viděli - proč tedy mluvíte takové nesmysly:
13 (KJV) This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
13 (B21) ‚Takový osud dává Bůh ničemům, dědictví, jež Všemohoucí svěřuje tyranům.
14 (KJV) If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
14 (B21) I kdyby měl spoustu dětí, všechny čeká meč, chlebem jeho ratolesti nenasytí se.
15 (KJV) Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.
15 (B21) Pozůstalé po něm pohřbí mor, nebudou oplakáváni od svých vdov.
16 (KJV) Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;
16 (B21) I kdyby stříbra jak prachu nakupil, i kdyby šatů jak bláta navršil,
17 (KJV) He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
17 (B21) spravedlivý oblékne si, co on hromadil, jeho stříbro po něm zdědí nevinný.
18 (KJV) He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh.
18 (B21) Jak pavouk buduje si svůj dům, je ale chatrný jak chýše hlídačů.
19 (KJV) The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
19 (B21) Ulehne jako boháč, a je to naposled; když oči otevře, nic mu nezbude.
20 (KJV) Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
20 (B21) Hrůzy ho postihnou jako povodeň, uprostřed noci ho vichr odnese.
21 (KJV) The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.
21 (B21) Východní vítr ho odnese kdovíkam, odvane ho daleko z jeho domova.
22 (KJV) For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
22 (B21) Vrhne se na něj beze vší lítosti, právě když bude chtít před ním utéci.
23 (KJV) Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
23 (B21) Posměšně zatleská mu svýma rukama, s pískotem vyžene ho z jeho domova.'"

Verš 8
For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
Mt 16:26 - For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Lk 12:20 - But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
Jób 35:12 - There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
Ž 18:41 - They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.
Ž 109:7 - When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
Prís 1:28 - Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
Prís 28:9 - He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Iz 1:15 - And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
Jer 14:12 - When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.
Ez 8:18 - Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
Mi 3:4 - Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.
Jn 9:31 - Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
Jak 4:3 - Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
Jób 20:29 - This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
Verš 14
If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
Dt 28:41 - Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
Oz 9:13 - Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.

Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.
Ž 78:64 - Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.
Verš 17
He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
Prís 28:8 - He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
Kaz 2:26 - For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
Verš 19
The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
Ž 49:17 - For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
Verš 20
Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
Jób 15:21 - A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
Jób 18:11 - Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.
Job 27,8 - Verš 8 doslovne znie: "Lebo načo ešte čaká bezbožník – až mu raz Božstvo vytrhne dušu?"
Job 27,18 - "Palác dal si postaviť sťa hniezdo". – Táto čiastka verša je v hebrejskom texte neistá. Niektorí prekladajú: dom si vystaval, aký má moľ (t. j. z hmoty nestálej, ktorá sa ide rozpadnúť, ako látka moľami zožratá). Iní zasa majú: Veď vybudoval si akoby z trávy dom… podobný chyžke, akú si schystá hájnik.
