Biblia - Sväté písmo

(UKJV - Anglický - Updated King James)

Jób 17, 1-16

1 (UKJV) My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.
1 (KAT) Môj duch je zbitý, moje dni už pohasli a nič, len hroby sú mi potrebné.

2 (UKJV) Are there not mockers with me? and does not mine eye continue in their provocation?
2 (KAT) Či nerobia si zo mňa iba posmešky a v utrpení oko nebdie mi?

3 (UKJV) "Lay down now, put me in a guarantor with you; who is he that will shake hands with me? "

4 (UKJV) For you have hid their heart from understanding: therefore shall you not exalt them.
4 (KAT) Lebo ich srdcu si odňal odvahu a vyhrať veru ty ich nenecháš!

5 (UKJV) He that speaks flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

6 (UKJV) "He has made me also a byword of the people; and in old times I was as a timbrel. "
6 (KAT) Ty dopustil si, že som ľuďom príslovím; a práve mne to pľujú do tváre.

7 (UKJV) Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.

8 (UKJV) Upright men shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.

9 (UKJV) The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that has clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
9 (KAT) Lež spravodlivý svojou cestou ide si a silu získa, kto je čistých rúk.

10 (UKJV) But as for you all, do all of you return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.
10 (KAT) Vy všetci teda, vráťteže sa, poďte sem, hoc medzi vami neznám múdreho.

11 (UKJV) My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
11 (KAT) Moje dni ušli, praskli moje úmysly aj túžby môjho srdca.

12 (UKJV) They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.

13 (UKJV) If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
13 (KAT) Či môžem dúfať? Domom mojím podsvetie a vo tmách som si lôžko popravil.

14 (UKJV) I have said to corruption, You are my father: to the worm, You are my mother, and my sister.
14 (KAT) Nuž: »Môj otec si« - tak som hrobu povedal a červom: »Ste mi matkou, sestrami.«

15 (UKJV) And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?
15 (KAT) V čom nádej moja môže ešte spočívať? A moje šťastie, kto ho pobadá?

16 (UKJV) They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.
16 (KAT) Či do podsvetia so mnou azda zostúpi a do prachu sa vedno vnoríme?“
