1 (UKJV) Lo, mine eye has seen all this, mine ear has heard and understood it.
1 (KAT) Hľa, moje oko všetko toto videlo i ucho moje čulo, vnímalo.
2 (UKJV) What all of you know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.
2 (KAT) Nuž čo viete vy, to ja poznám takisto, nie som od vás nijako podlejší.
3 (UKJV) Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.
3 (KAT) Ale ja budem hovoriť so Všemohúcim a pred Bohom sa chcem obhájiť.
4 (UKJV) But all of you are forgers of lies, all of you are all physicians of no value.
4 (KAT) Vy však vymýšľate klamné luhárstva, všetci ste nanič lekári.
5 (UKJV) O that all of you would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.
5 (KAT) Ach, keby aspoň umĺknuť ste chceli, to za múdrosť by sa vám rátalo.
6 (UKJV) Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.
6 (KAT) Len počúvajte perí mojich výčitky a úst mojich čujte žalobu!
7 (UKJV) Will all of you speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?
7 (KAT) To namiesto Boha hovoríte luhárstva a miesto neho lesti vravíte?
8 (UKJV) Will all of you accept his person? will all of you contend for God?
8 (KAT) Chcete sa postaviť na jeho stranu a zástupcami Boha chcete byť?
9 (UKJV) Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocks another, do all of you so mock him?
9 (KAT) To dobre bude, keď sa o vás presvedčí, že jak ľudí klamú, tak ho klamete?
10 (UKJV) He will surely reprove you, if all of you do secretly accept persons.
10 (KAT) On vás isto stihne trestom veľmi prísnym, ak tajne komu stranu držíte.
11 (UKJV) Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?
11 (KAT) Nedesí vás jeho velebnosť a hrôza z neho nezachváti vás?
12 (UKJV) Your remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.
12 (KAT) Tie vaše reči nie sú hádam z popola a nie sú z hliny vaše pevnosti?
13 (UKJV) Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.
13 (KAT) Nuž mlčte trochu, by som mohol aj ja hovoriť, nech potom príde na mňa čokoľvek!
14 (UKJV) Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?
14 (KAT) Však svoje telo držím medzi zubmi a svoju dušu na dlaň kladiem si.
15 (UKJV) Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
15 (KAT) Ak znivočí ma, ani sa nezachvejem, len nech si pred ním poviem svoje.
16 (UKJV) He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
16 (KAT) To bude potom moja spása, veď nemá prístup k nemu darebák.
17 (UKJV) Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.
17 (KAT) Tak počúvajte moje slovo a v ušiach vašich nech je výklad môj!
18 (UKJV) "Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified. "
18 (KAT) Pripravil som sa na súd a som presvedčený, že ja v práve som.
19 (UKJV) Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the spirit.
19 (KAT) Kto sa teda chce pravotiť so mnou? Lebo potom zmĺknem a zahyniem…!
20 (UKJV) Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from you.
20 (KAT) Len od dvoch vecí ma teraz ušetri a pred tebou sa skrývať nebudem:
21 (UKJV) Withdraw your hand far from me: and let not your dread make me afraid.
21 (KAT) Odtiahni odo mňa svoju ruku a hrôza z teba nech ma nedesí!
22 (UKJV) Then call you, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer you me.
22 (KAT) A zavolaj ma, budem ti odpovedať, alebo ja budem hovoriť a ty mi odpovieš.
23 (UKJV) How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.
23 (KAT) Koľko mám pokleskov a hriechov? Tak moje viny, hriechy oznám mi!
24 (UKJV) Wherefore hide you your face, and hold me for your enemy?
24 (KAT) Prečo svoju tvár skrývaš predo mnou a máš ma za svojho nepriateľa?
25 (UKJV) Will you break a leaf driven back and forth? and will you pursue the dry stubble?
25 (KAT) Či desiť chceš lístok vetrom zmietaný a za slamkou suchou sa naháňať? -
26 (UKJV) For you write bitter things against me, and make me to possess the iniquities of my youth.
26 (KAT) že výrok trpký zapisuješ proti mne, že pričítaš mi viny z mladosti,
27 (UKJV) "You put my feet also in the stocks, and look narrowly unto all my paths; you set a print upon the heels of my feet. "
27 (KAT) že moje nohy zatváraš do klady, všetky moje kroky strážiš bedlivo a nôh mi stopy skúmaš pozorne?
28 (UKJV) And he, as a rotten thing, consumes, as a garment that is moth eaten.
28 (KAT) Rozpadá sa ako hniloba nejaká, jak šaty, čo ich mole vyžerú.

Verš 4
But all of you are forgers of lies, all of you are all physicians of no value.
Jób 16:2 - I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are all of you all.
Verš 5
O that all of you would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.
Prís 17:28 - Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
Verš 7
Will all of you speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?
Jób 17:5 - He that speaks flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
Jób 32:21 - Let me not, I pray you, accept any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.
Jób 36:4 - For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with you.
Verš 15
Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
Ž 23:4 - "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. "
Prís 14:32 - The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous has hope in his death.

Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from you.
Jób 9:34 - Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me:
Jób 33:7 - Behold, my terror shall not make you afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon you.
Verš 24
Wherefore hide you your face, and hold me for your enemy?
Jób 16:9 - "He tears me in his wrath, who hates me: he gnashes upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpens his eyes upon me. "
Jób 19:11 - He has also kindled his wrath against me, and he counts me unto him as one of his enemies.
Jób 33:10 - Behold, he finds occasions against me, he counts me for his enemy,
Nár 2:5 - The LORD was as an enemy: he has swallowed up Israel, he has swallowed up all her palaces: he has destroyed his strong holds, and has increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.
Verš 26
For you write bitter things against me, and make me to possess the iniquities of my youth.
Ž 25:7 - Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to your mercy remember you me for your goodness' sake, O LORD.
Verš 27
"You put my feet also in the stocks, and look narrowly unto all my paths; you set a print upon the heels of my feet. "
Jób 33:11 - He puts my feet in the stocks, he marks all my paths.
Job 13,4 - Keď Jóbovi priatelia ustavične tvrdia, že každý trpiaci nešťastlivec musí byť súčasne aj veľkým hriešnikom, podliehajú veľkému omylu a hovoria veľkú lož. Preto ich menuje Jób "nanič lekármi".
Job 13,14 - "Telo držať medzi zubmi" znamená: svoj život a svoje právo až do krajnosti brániť. Aj zvrat "dušu na dlaň klásť" znamená: nebezpečenstvu vystaviť svoj život, ak by sa tak nejaké zlo dalo odvrátiť (Sdc 12,3; 1 Sam 19,5).
