Biblia - Sväté písmo

(VUL - Latinský - Nova Vulgata)

Jób 1, 1-22

1 (VUL) Vir erat in terra Us nomine Iob, et erat vir ille simplex et rectus ac timens Deum et recedens a malo.
1 (UKJV) "There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. "

2 (UKJV) And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

3 (UKJV) "His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east. "

4 (UKJV) "And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. "

Sic faciebat Iob cunctis diebus.
5 (UKJV) And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

6 (UKJV) Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

7 (VUL) Cui dixit Dominus: “ Unde venis? ”.
7 (UKJV) And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence come you? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

8 (UKJV) And the LORD said unto Satan, Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that fears God, and turns away from evil?

9 (VUL) Cui respondens Satan ait: “ Numquid Iob frustra timet Deum?
9 (UKJV) Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Does Job fear God for nothing?

10 (UKJV) Have not you made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he has on every side? you have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

11 (VUL) Sed extende paululum manum tuam et tange cuncta, quae possidet, nisi in faciem benedixerit tibi ”.
11 (UKJV) But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.

12 (VUL) Dixit ergo Dominus ad Satan: “ Ecce, universa, quae habet, in manu tua sunt; tantum in eum ne extendas manum tuam ”. Egressusque est Satan a facie Domini.
12 (UKJV) "And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power; only upon himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. "

13 (UKJV) And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

14 (VUL) nuntius venit ad Iob, qui diceret: “ Boves arabant, et asinae pascebantur iuxta eos;
14 (UKJV) And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

15 (UKJV) "And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell you. "

16 (UKJV) "While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and has burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell you. "

17 (UKJV) "While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell you. "

18 (VUL) Adhuc loquebatur ille, et ecce alius intravit et dixit: “ Filiis tuis et filiabus vescentibus et bibentibus vinum in domo fratris sui primogeniti,
18 (UKJV) While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

19 (UKJV) "And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and stroke the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell you. "

20 (VUL) Tunc surrexit Iob et scidit vestimenta sua et, tonso capite, corruens in terram adoravit
20 (UKJV) Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

21 (UKJV) "And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. "

22 (UKJV) In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Kaz 5:15 - Miserabilis prorsus infirmitas: quomodo venit, sic revertetur. Quid ergo prodest ei quod laboravit in ventum?
1Tim 6:7 - Nihil enim intulimus in mundum, quia nec auferre quid possumus;

Verš 7
Cui dixit Dominus: “ Unde venis? ”.
1Pt 5:8 - Sobrii estote, vigilate. Adversarius vester Diabolus tamquam leo rugiens circuit quaerens quem devoret.

Job 1,2 - Početné potomstvo (najmä značný počet živých synov) bolo dôkazom a znamením priazne Božej (Dt 28,4.11; Ž 128,3).

Job 1,6-12 - Porov. 1 Kr 22,19 n. Nebeská scéna je básnickým znázornením rozhodnutia Božieho, ktorým Boh satanovi dovolí trápiť aj spravodlivých ľudí. "Boží synovia" sú dobrí anjeli. Oproti nim stojí "satan" ako odporca úmyslov Božích. Boh chce len dobré. Zlo iba dopúšťa, lebo aj to vie podriadiť svojej službe. Celý výjav treba chápať obrazne. Znázorňuje skutočnosť, že iba zlý duch, ako nepriateľ spravodlivosti, si žiada prenasledovať dobrých ľudí. Ale potrebuje na to súhlas od Boha. Zlo teda nepochádza bezprostredne od Boha. On iba dopustí zlo.

Gn 37,29; Lv 10,6 a i.), ostrihať si hlavu (Iz 15,2; Jer 7,29 a i.) boli obvyklé znaky smútku v tých krajoch.

Job 1,21 - Zem sa prirovnáva k materskému lonu.
