3 (KJV) In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces, being before him:
6 (B21) Toho plátna bílého a modrého, na stříbrných tyčích šňůrami z kmentu a purpuru vázaného, těch sloupů z bělostného mramoru, těch lůžek zlatých i stříbrných na dláždění z porfyru, bělostného mramoru i perleti a drahých kamenů!

4 (KJV) When he shewed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honour of his excellent majesty many days, even an hundred and fourscore days.
8 (B21) Dle nařízení se pilo bez omezení; král nařídil všem dvorním služebníkům, ať každého obsluhují, co hrdlo ráčí.

5 (KJV) And when these days were expired, the king made a feast unto all the people that were present in Shushan the palace, both unto great and small, seven days, in the court of the garden of the king's palace;
9 (B21) Královna Vašti zatím v Xerxově královském paláci uspořádala hostinu pro ženy.

10 (B21) Sedmého dne si král Xerxes, rozjařen vínem, zavolal Mehumana, Bizta, Charbona, Bigta, Abagta, Zetara a Karkasa. Těmto sedmi eunuchům, kteří ho obsluhovali,

6 (KJV) Where were white, green, and blue, hangings, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and pillars of marble: the beds were of gold and silver, upon a pavement of red, and blue, and white, and black, marble.
11 (B21) nařídil, ať před něj přivedou královnu Vašti v královské koruně, aby lidu i velmožům předvedl její krásu. A že to byla krasavice!

6 (KJV) Where were white, green, and blue, hangings, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and pillars of marble: the beds were of gold and silver, upon a pavement of red, and blue, and white, and black, marble.
12 (B21) Když jí ale eunuchové vyřídili královský rozkaz, královna Vašti přijít odmítla. Král se rozlítil, že hněvem jen hořel.

7 (KJV) And they gave them drink in vessels of gold, (the vessels being diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king.
13 (B21) Poradil se však s mudrci znalými postupů (královské záležitosti se totiž řešily se všemi znalci práv a řádů;

7 (KJV) And they gave them drink in vessels of gold, (the vessels being diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king.
14 (B21) nejblíže mu byli Karšena, Šetar, Admata, Taršiš, Meres, Marsena a Memuchan - sedm perských a médských velmožů, kteří měli přístup k samému králi a zaujímali přední místa v říši):

8 (KJV) And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure.

9 (KJV) Also Vashti the queen made a feast for the women in the royal house which belonged to king Ahasuerus.
Budou říkat: ‚Král Xerxes poslal pro královnu Vašti, a nepřišla!'

9 (KJV) Also Vashti the queen made a feast for the women in the royal house which belonged to king Ahasuerus.
18 (B21) Ještě dnes se manželky perských a médských velmožů doslechnou zprávu o královně a začnou všem královským velmožům odmlouvat! Jako by nebylo dost nevážnosti a hádek!

10 (KJV) On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king,
19 (B21) Nechť král ráčí vydat královské slovo, jež bude zapsáno mezi práva perská a médská jako nepomíjivé, a sice že Vašti už nesmí přijít před krále Xerxe. Král si pak bude moci vybrat za královnu jinou, lepší.

11 (KJV) To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on.
21 (B21) Ta rada se králi i velmožům líbila. Král se zařídil podle Memuchanovy rady

Est 1, 1-44

Boli to kráľovskí ministri, ktorí vykonávali štátne záležitosti.

Podľa hebrejského: nech ho zapíšu do zákonníka (porov. 9,27 n.; Dan 6,9.13).

Est 1,22 - "Rozposlal listiny": vydal písané ustanovenie, teda výnos. Vo viacjazyčnej Perzskej ríši bolo zvykom uverejňovať zákony v rozličných jazykoch a písmach, aby im všetci mohli porozumieť.
