Kniha Nehemiášova

1 (KAT) Keď Sanabalatovi, Tobiášovi, Arabovi Gešemovi a ostatným našim nepriateľom doletelo do uší, že som postavil múr a že na ňom niet trhliny, hoci dovtedy som ešte neosadil vráta do brán,
1 (VUL) Factum est autem cum audisset Sanaballat et Thobias et Gosem Arabs et ceteri inimici nostri, quod aedificassem ego murum, et non esset in ipso residua interruptio — usque ad tempus autem illud valvas non posueram in portis —
1 (UKJV) "Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had built the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;) "

2 (KAT) poslali mi Sanabalat s Gešemom odkaz: „Poď, pohovoríme si v jednej z dedín na rovine Ono!“ Lenže oni zamýšľali urobiť mi zlé.
2 (VUL) miserunt Sanaballat et Gosem ad me dicentes: “ Veni, et conveniamus in Cephirim in campo Ono ”. Ipsi autem cogitabant, ut facerent mihi malum.
2 (UKJV) That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.

3 (KAT) Preto som k nim poslal poslov s týmto odkazom: „Robím veľké dielo, preto nemôžem ísť. Akiste by práca postála, keby som ju nechal tak a šiel za vami dolu.“
3 (VUL) Misi ergo ad eos nuntios dicens: “ Opus grande ego facio et non possum descendere; cur cessare oportet opus, si desistero et descendero ad vos? ”.
3 (UKJV) And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?

4 (KAT) Štyri razy posielali ku mne takým istým spôsobom a ja som im vždy odpovedal ako prv.
4 (VUL) Miserunt autem ad me secundum verbum hoc per quattuor vices, et respondi eis iuxta sermonem priorem.
4 (UKJV) "Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner. "

5 (KAT) Potom poslal Sanabalat ku mne svojho sluhu s otvoreným listom piaty raz tým istým spôsobom.
5 (VUL) Et misit ad me Sanaballat iuxta verbum prius quinta vice puerum suum, et epistulam non obsignatam habebat in manu sua, in qua erat scriptum:
5 (UKJV) "Then sent Sanballat his servant unto me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand; "

6 (KAT) V ňom stálo: „Medzi národmi sa povráva a Gešem hovorí to isté, že vy, ty a Židia, strojíte sa vzbúriť, preto staviaš múr, a že by si rád bol ich kráľom podľa týchto rečí.
6 (VUL) “ In gentibus auditum est, et Gosem dixit quod tu et Iudaei cogitetis rebellare, et propterea aedifices murum et levare te velis super eos regem; iuxta hanc vocem
6 (UKJV) Wherein was written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu says it, that you and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause you build the wall, that you may be their king, according to these words.

7 (KAT) Aj prorokov že si postavil, aby o tebe roznášali po Jeruzaleme: »V Judei je kráľ!« Teraz sa kráľ dozvie o týchto pletkách. Preto len príď, aby sme sa poradili spolu!“
7 (VUL) et prophetas posueris, qui praedicent de te in Ierusalem dicentes: “Rex in Iudaea est!”. Nunc autem auditurus est rex verba haec; idcirco nunc veni, ut ineamus consilium pariter ”.
7 (UKJV) And you have also appointed prophets to preach of you at Jerusalem, saying, There is a king in Judah: and now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.

8 (KAT) Poslal som mu odkaz: „Nestalo sa nič také, ako hovoríš, ale ty sám si si to navymýšľal vo svojom srdci.“
8 (VUL) Et misi ad eum dicens: “ Non est factum secundum verba haec, quae tu loqueris; de corde enim tuo tu componis haec ”.
8 (UKJV) Then I sent unto him, saying, There are no such things done as you say, but you feign them out of your own heart.

9 (KAT) Všetci nám totiž chceli nahnať strachu, lebo si mysleli, že naše ruky nechajú tak prácu, takže ona vyjde na zmar. Preto som tým väčšmi dodával sily svojim rukám.
9 (VUL) Omnes enim hi terrebant nos cogitantes: “ Fatigabuntur manus eorum ab opere, et non complebitur ”. Quam ob causam magis confortavi manus meas.
9 (UKJV) For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.

10 (KAT) Keď som tak raz vošiel do príbytku Šemaiáša, syna Mehetabelovho syna Delaiáša, ktorý sa zavrel, povedal mi: „Poďme spolu do Božieho domu, dnu do chrámu, a zamknime dvere chrámu, lebo ťa prídu zabiť, za noci ťa prídu zmárniť.“
10 (VUL) Et ingressus sum domum Semeiae filii Dalaiae filii Meetabel, ubi erat detentus. Qui ait: “ Tractemus nobiscum in domo Dei, in medio templi, et claudamus portas aedis, quia venturi sunt, ut interficiant te; utique nocte venturi sunt ad occidendum te”.
10 (UKJV) "Afterward I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay you; yea, in the night will they come to slay you. "

11 (KAT) Lenže ja som odpovedal: „Utekal by vari niekto taký, ako som ja? A kto taký, ako som ja, by sa opovážil vkročiť do chrámu a zostať nažive?! Nejdem!“
11 (VUL) Et dixi: “ Num quisquam similis mei fugit? Et quis ut ego ingredietur templum et vivet? Non ingrediar ”.
11 (UKJV) And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.

12 (KAT) Poznal som hneď, že ho neposlal Boh, ale že to proroctvo mi povedal len preto, že ho Tobiáš a Sanabalat najali za odmenu.
12 (VUL) Et intellexi quod Deus non misisset eum, sed quasi vaticinans locutus esset ad me, quia Thobias et Sanaballat conduxerant eum.
12 (UKJV) "And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. "

13 (KAT) Bol najatý za odmenu, aby som sa zľakol, urobil to a zhrešil. Bolo by sa im také niečo hodilo na mrzkú ohováračku mojej osoby, aby mi mohli utŕhať na cti.
13 (VUL) Acceperat enim pretium, ut territus sic agerem et peccarem, et haberent malum, quod exprobrarent mihi.
13 (UKJV) Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me.

14 (KAT) Pamätaj, môj Bože, na Tobiáša a na Sanabalata podľa ich skutkov a takisto na prorokyňu Noadiu a na ostatných prorokov, ktorí by mi boli radi nahnať strachu.
14 (VUL) Memento, Deus meus, Thobiae et Sanaballat iuxta opera eorum talia, sed et Noadiae prophetae et ceterorum prophetarum, qui terrebant me!
14 (UKJV) My God, think you upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.

15 (KAT) No i tak bol dokončený múr za päťdesiatdva dní dvadsiateho piateho elula.
15 (VUL) Completus est autem murus vicesimo quinto die mensis Elul, quinquaginta duobus diebus.
15 (UKJV) So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

16 (KAT) Keď sa o tom dozvedeli všetci naši nepriatelia, zachveli sa všetky národy, čo boli vôkol nás, a zmalomyseľneli veľmi, lebo poznali, že toto dielo sa dokonalo vďaka nášmu Bohu.
16 (VUL) Factum est ergo, cum audissent omnes inimici nostri, et vidissent universae gentes, quae erant in circuitu nostro, ut conciderent intra semetipsos et scirent quod a Deo factum esset opus hoc.
16 (UKJV) And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.

17 (KAT) No aj vtedy premnohí poprední Židia odosielali Tobiášovi listy a zasa od Tobiáša prichádzali im.
17 (VUL) Sed et in diebus illis, multae optimatum Iudaeorum epistulae mittebantur ad Thobiam, et a Thobia veniebant ad eos.
17 (UKJV) Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters unto Tobiah, and the letters of Tobiah came unto them.

18 (KAT) Lebo v Judei bolo veľa takých, ktorých s ním viazala prísaha. Bol totiž zaťom Arachovho syna Šechaniáša. Jeho syn Jochanan si zas vzal dcéru Berechiášovho syna Mešulmana.
18 (VUL) Multi enim in Iudaea coniurationem fecerunt cum eo, quia gener erat Secheniae filii Area, et Iohanan filius eius acceperat filiam Mosollam filii Barachiae.
18 (UKJV) "For there were many in Judah sworn unto him, because he was the son in law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah. "

19 (KAT) Ba pekne sa vyjadrovali o ňom aj predo mnou a zasa moje slová vynášali jemu. Aj Tobiáš posielal listy, aby ma strašil.
19 (VUL) Sed et laudabant eum coram me et verba mea nuntiabant ei; et Thobias mittebat epistulas, ut terreret me.
19 (UKJV) Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. And Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear.
