Kniha Ezdrášova

1 (KAT) Prorokoval však prorok Aggeus a Idov syn Zachariáš a prorokovali tým Židom, ktorí boli v Judei a v Jeruzaleme, v mene Izraelovho Boha, ktorý vládol nad nimi.
1 (VUL) Prophetae autem Aggaeus et Zacharias filius Addo propheta verunt ad Iudaeos, qui erant in Iudaea et Ierusalem, in nomine Dei Israel, quod erat super eos.
1 (UKJV) Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied unto the Jews that were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, even unto them.

2 (KAT) I chytili sa Šealtielov syn Zorobábel a Josadakov syn Jozue a začali stavať Boží chrám v Jeruzaleme a ruka v ruke s nimi pracovali Boží proroci a podporovali ich.
2 (VUL) Tunc surrexerunt Zorobabel filius Salathiel et Iesua filius Iosedec et coeperunt aedificare templum Dei in Ierusalem; prophetae autem Dei adiuvabant eos.
2 (UKJV) Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem: and with them were the prophets of God helping them.

3 (KAT) V tom čase prišiel k nim vladár Záriečia Tatenai, Šetar Bozenai a ich spolupracovníci a opýtali sa ich: „Kto vám dovolil stavať tento chrám a opravovať tieto hradby?“
3 (VUL) In ipso autem tempore venit ad eos Thathanai, qui erat dux trans flumen, et Stharbuzanai et consiliarii eorum, sicque dixerunt eis: “ Quis dedit vobis potestatem, ut domum hanc aedificaretis et materiam istam praepararetis?
3 (UKJV) At the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shetharboznai and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who has commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall?

4 (KAT) Ďalej sa ich spytovali: „Ako sa volajú mužovia, čo stavajú túto budovu?“
4 (VUL) Quae sunt nomina hominum auctorum aedificationis illius? ”.
4 (UKJV) Then said we unto them after this manner, What are the names of the men that make this building?

5 (KAT) Ale Božie oko spočívalo na starších Židoch, a tak im neprerušili prácu, kým sa nepredostrie správa Dáriovi a kým odtiaľ nedostanú rozhodnutie o tom.
5 (VUL) Oculus autem Dei eorum factus est super senes Iudaeorum, et non obstiterunt eis, usque dum res ad Darium referretur, et tunc sententia de hac re redderetur.
5 (UKJV) But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, that they could not cause them to cease, till the matter came to Darius: and then they returned answer by letter concerning this matter.

6 (KAT) Odpis listu, ktorý poslal vladár Záriečia Tatenai, Šetar Bozenai a ich spolupracovníci Afarsechičania spoza Rieky kráľovi Dáriovi.
6 (VUL) Exemplar epistulae, quam misit Thathanai dux regionis trans flumen et Stharbuzanai et consiliatores eius et duces, qui erant trans flumen, ad Darium regem.
6 (UKJV) The copy of the letter that Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shetharboznai and his companions the Apharsachites, which were on this side the river, sent unto Darius the king:

7 (KAT) Poslali mu správu a v nej bolo napísané toto:
7 (VUL) Sermo, quem miserant ei, sic scriptus erat: “ Dario regi pax omnis.
7 (UKJV) "They sent a letter unto him, wherein was written thus; Unto Darius the king, all peace. "

8 (KAT) „Kráľovi Dáriovi dokonalý pokoj! Nech je známe kráľovi, že sme sa vypravili do júdskej krajiny k domu veľkého Boha. Stavajú ho z kvádrov. Steny obkladajú drevom. Pracuje sa usilovne na tom diele a ono im rastie pod rukami.
8 (VUL) Notum sit regi isse nos ad Iudaeam provinciam, ad domum Dei magni, quae aedificatur lapide quadrato, et ligna ponuntur in parietibus; opusque illud diligenter exstruitur et crescit in manibus eorum.
8 (UKJV) Be it known unto the king, that we went into the province of Judea, to the house of the great God, which is built with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work goes fast on, and prospers in their hands.

9 (KAT) Opýtali sme sa teda starších a takto sme im vraveli: »Kto vám dovolil stavať tento chrám a opravovať tieto hradby?«
9 (VUL) Interrogavimus ergo senes illos et ita diximus eis: “Quis dedit vobis potestatem, ut domum hanc aedificaretis et materiam istam praepararetis?”.
9 (UKJV) Then asked we those elders, and said unto them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to make up these walls?

10 (KAT) Opýtali sme sa ich aj na ich mená, aby sme ti dali vedieť, aj sme zaznačili mená mužov, ktorí sú ich náčelníkmi.
10 (VUL) Sed et nomina eorum quaesivimus ab eis, ut nuntiaremus tibi, scripsimusque nomina eorum virorum, qui sunt principes in eis.
10 (UKJV) We asked their names also, to certify you, that we might write the names of the men that were the chief of them.

11 (KAT) Odpovedali nám takto: »My sme služobníci Boha nebies a zeme a staviame tento chrám, ktorý bol postavený už dávno pred mnohými rokmi. Staval ho a aj postavil veľký izraelský kráľ.
11 (VUL) Huiuscemodi autem sermonem responderunt nobis dicentes: “Nos sumus servi Dei caeli et terrae et aedificamus templum, quod erat exstructum ante hos annos multos, quodque rex Israel magnus aedificaverat et exstruxerat.
11 (UKJV) And thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and build the house that was built these many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and set up.

12 (KAT) Potom však, keď naši praotcovia popudili na hnev nebeského Boha, vydal ich do rúk babylonského kráľa, Chaldejca Nabuchodonozora, ktorý zboril tento chrám a ľud presídlil do Babylonu.
12 (VUL) Postquam autem ad iracundiam provocaverunt patres nostri Deum caeli, tradidit eos in manus Nabuchodonosor regis Babylonis Chaldaei, qui domum hanc destruxit et populum eius transtulit in Babylonem.
12 (UKJV) But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven unto wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.

13 (KAT) Ale v prvom roku babylonského kráľa Kýra kráľ Kýros vydal nariadenie postaviť tento Boží chrám.
13 (VUL) Anno autem primo Cyri regis Babylonis, Cyrus rex proposuit edictum, ut domus Dei haec aedificaretur.
13 (UKJV) But in the first year of Cyrus the king of Babylon the same king Cyrus made a decree to build this house of God.

14 (KAT) Ba ešte aj zlaté a strieborné nádoby, ktoré patrili Božiemu domu a ktoré Nabuchodonozor pobral z jeruzalemského chrámu a odniesol do babylonského chrámu, kráľ Kýros vyniesol z babylonského chrámu a odovzdal ich istému mužovi menom Sasabasár, ktorého vymenoval za vladára,
14 (VUL) Nam et vasa templi Dei aurea et argentea, quae Nabuchodonosor tulerat de templo, quod erat in Ierusalem, et asportaverat ea in templum Babylonis, protulit Cyrus rex de templo Babylonis, et data sunt viro cuidam nomine Sasabassar, quem et principem constituit,
14 (UKJV) "And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered unto one, whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor; "

15 (KAT) a povedal mu: »Vezmi tieto nádoby, choď a ulož ich v jeruzalemskom chráme! Nech sa stavia Boží dom na tom mieste, kde stál!«
15 (VUL) dixitque ei: 'Haec vasa tolle et vade et pone ea in templo, quod est in Ierusalem, et domus Dei aedificetur in loco suo'.
15 (UKJV) And said unto him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be built in his place.

16 (KAT) Nuž a tento Sasabasár došiel, postaral sa o základy jeruzalemského chrámu Božieho a odvtedy sa stavia dosiaľ, ale dostavaný nie je.«
16 (VUL) Tunc itaque Sasabassar ille venit et posuit fundamenta templi Dei in Ierusalem, et ex eo tempore usque nunc aedificatur et necdum completum est”.
16 (UKJV) Then came the same Sheshbazzar, and laid the foundation of the house of God which is in Jerusalem: and since that time even until now has it been in building, and yet it is not finished.

17 (KAT) A tak teraz, ak kráľ uzná za dobré, nech sa pátra v kráľovskej klenotnici tam v Babylone, či je to tak, že kráľ Kýros vydal rozkaz stavať Boží chrám v Jeruzaleme. Nech nám teda kráľ pošle rozhodnutie v tejto veci!“
17 (VUL) Nunc ergo, si videtur regi bonum, recenseat in aerario regis, quod est in Babylone, utrumnam a Cyro rege potestas data fuerit, ut aedificaretur domus Dei in Ierusalem, et voluntatem regis super hac re mittat ad nos ”.
17 (UKJV) Now therefore, if it seem good to the king, let there be search made in the king's treasure house, which is there at Babylon, whether it be so, that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.
