1 (KAT) Na siedmy rok sa Jojada vzmužil, vzal k sebe veliteľov stotín: Jerohamovho syna Azariáša, Johananovho syna Izmaela, Obedovho syna Asariáša, Adaiho syna Másiáša a Zechriho syna Elisafata a uzavrel s nimi dohodu.
1 (VUL) Anno autem septimo confor tatus Ioiada assumpsit centu riones, Azariam videlicet filium Ieroham et Ismael filium Iohanan, Azariam quoque filium Obed et Maasiam filium Adaiae et Elisaphat filium Zechri, et iniit cum eis foedus.
1 (UKJV) And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.

2 (UKJV) And they went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the chief of the fathers of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

3 (KAT) Celé zhromaždenie uzavrelo s kráľom v Božom dome zmluvu a Jojada im povedal: „Hľa, kráľov syn! Má kraľovať, ako hovoril Pán o Dávidových synoch.
3 (VUL) Iniit igitur omnis congregatio pactum in domo Dei cum rege. Dixitque ad eos Ioiada: “ Ecce filius regis regnabit, sicut locutus est Dominus super filios David.
3 (UKJV) And all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said unto them, Behold, the king's son shall reign, as the LORD has said of the sons of David.

4 (KAT) Budete robiť toto: Tretina z vás kňazov a levitov, ktorí prichádzate v sobotu, bude strážiť pri prahoch,
4 (VUL) Hoc est ergo, quod facietis.
4 (UKJV) "This is the thing that all of you shall do; A third part of you entering on the sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be porters of the doors; "

5 (KAT) tretina v kráľovskom dome, tretina v Bráne základu a všetok ľud v nádvoriach Pánovho domu.
5 (VUL) Tertia pars vestrum, qui veniunt ad sabbatum sacerdotum et Levitarum et ianitorum, erit in portis, tertia vero pars ad domum regis et tertia in porta, quae appellatur Fundamenti; omne vero reliquum vulgus sit in atriis domus Domini.
5 (UKJV) "And a third part shall be at the king's house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation: and all the people shall be in the courts of the house of the LORD. "

6 (KAT) Do Pánovho domu nevkročí nik, iba kňazi a z levitov tí, čo posluhujú. Oni vojdú, lebo sú posvätení; všetok ľud však nech zachováva, čo kázal zachovávať Pán.
6 (VUL) Nec quisquam alius ingrediatur domum Domini, nisi sacerdotes et qui ministrant de Levitis; ipsi tantummodo ingrediantur, quia sanctificati sunt. Et omne reliquum vulgus observet observationem Domini.
6 (UKJV) "But let none come into the house of the LORD, save the priests, and they that minister of the Levites; they shall go in, for they are holy: but all the people shall keep the watch of the LORD. "

7 (KAT) Leviti nech dookola obkľúčia kráľa, každý so zbraňou v ruke, a keby niekto vnikol do chrámu, treba ho zabiť! Nech sú pri kráľovi, či pôjde dnu alebo von!“
7 (VUL) Levitae autem circumdent regem habentes singuli arma sua in manu. Et si quis alius ingressus fuerit templum, interficiatur. Sintque cum rege et intrante et egrediente ”.
7 (UKJV) "And the Levites shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand; and whosoever else comes into the house, he shall be put to death: but be all of you with the king when he comes in, and when he goes out. "

8 (KAT) Leviti a všetci Júdovci urobili všetko tak, ako im nariadil kňaz Jojada. Každý vzal svojich mužov, ktorí v sobotu prichádzali, aj s tými, čo v sobotu odchádzali, lebo kňaz Jojada neprepustil oddiely,
8 (VUL) Fecerunt igitur Levitae et universus Iuda iuxta omnia, quae praeceperat Ioiada pontifex; et assumpserunt singuli viros suos, qui veniebant sabbato cum his, qui sabbato egressuri erant: siquidem Ioiada pontifex non dimisit abire turmas, quae sibi per singulas hebdomadas succedere consueverant.
8 (UKJV) So the Levites and all Judah did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest had commanded, and took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that were to go out on the sabbath: for Jehoiada the priest dismissed not the courses.

9 (KAT) a kňaz Jojada dal veliteľom stotín kopije, štíty a pavézy kráľa Dávida, ktoré boli v Božom dome.
9 (VUL) Deditque Ioiada sacerdos centurionibus lanceas clipeosque et peltas regis David, quae erant in domo Dei.
9 (UKJV) Moreover Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds spears, and bucklers, and shields, that had been king David's, which were in the house of God.

10 (KAT) I postavil všetok ľud, každého so zbraňou v ruke, od pravej strany domu až po ľavú stranu domu (tvárou) k oltáru a k domu okolo kráľa.
10 (VUL) Constituitque omnem populum tenentium tela a parte templi dextra usque ad partem templi sinistram coram altari et templo per circuitum regis.
10 (UKJV) And he set all the people, every man having his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple, along by the altar and the temple, by the king round about.

11 (KAT) Potom vyviedli kráľovho syna, položili naň korunu a odznak, ustanovili ho za kráľa, Jojada a jeho synovia ho pomazali a volali: „Nech žije kráľ!“
11 (VUL) Et eduxerunt filium regis et dederunt ei diadema et testimonium et constituerunt eum regem. Unxerunt quoque illum Ioiada pontifex et filii eius; imprecatique sunt ei atque dixerunt: “ Vivat rex! ”.
11 (UKJV) Then they brought out the king's son, and put upon him the crown, and gave him the testimony, and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, God save the king.

Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason.

14 (KAT) Ale kňaz Jojada vyšiel k veliteľom stotín, ktorí stáli na čele vojska, a povedal im: „Vyveďte ju von z nádvorí a kto pôjde za ňou, treba ho zabiť mečom!“ Kňaz totiž povedal: „Nezabíjajte ju v Pánovom dome!“
14 (VUL) Praecepit autem Ioiada pontifex centurionibus, qui erant super exercitum, dicens: “ Educite illam extra saepta templi! Qui autem sequetur eam, interficiatur foris gladio! ”. Dixerat enim sacerdos: “ Non occidetis eam in domo Domini! ”.
14 (UKJV) Then Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host, and said unto them, Have her out of the ranges: and whoso follows her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest said, Slay her not in the house of the LORD.

15 (KAT) Položili na ňu ruky, a keď došla ku vchodu do Konskej brány kráľovského domu, tam ju usmrtili.
15 (VUL) Et imposuerunt ei manus; cumque intrasset portam Equorum domus regis, interfecerunt eam ibi.
15 (UKJV) "So they laid hands on her; and when she was come to the entering of the horse gate by the king's house, they slew her there. "

16 (KAT) Potom Jojada uzavrel zmluvu medzi sebou, ľudom a kráľom, že budú Pánovým ľudom.
16 (VUL) Pepigit autem Ioiada foedus inter se universumque populum et regem, ut esset populus Domini.
16 (UKJV) And Jehoiada made a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, that they should be the LORD's people.

17 (KAT) Nato všetok ľud vošiel do Bálovho domu a zboril ho. Jeho oltáre a sochy dolámali a Bálovho kňaza Matana zabili pred oltárom.
17 (VUL) Itaque ingressus est omnis populus domum Baal et destruxerunt eam et altaria ac simulacra illius confregerunt; Matthan quoque sacerdotem Baal interfecerunt ante aras.
17 (UKJV) Then all the people went to the house of Baal, and brake it down, and brake his altars and his images in pieces, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

18 (KAT) Jojada postavil v Pánovom dome stráže pod dozorom levitských kňazov, ktorých zadelil Dávid v Pánovom dome, aby prinášali Pánove celopaly, ako je napísané v Mojžišovom zákone, s radosťou a piesňami, podľa Dávidovho nariadenia.

18 (UKJV) Also Jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the LORD by the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of the LORD, to offer the burnt offerings of the LORD, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as it was ordained by David.

19 (KAT) Ku bránam Pánovho domu postavil stráže, aby nik nečistý po nič nevošiel.
19 (VUL) Constituit quoque ianitores in portis domus Domini, ut non ingrederetur eam immundus in omni re.
19 (UKJV) And he set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in.

20 (KAT) Potom pojal veliteľov stotín, mocnárov a vodcov ľudu a všetok vidiecky ľud a odprevadil kráľa z Pánovho domu. Išli cez Hornú bránu do kráľovského domu a posadili kráľa na kráľovský trón.
20 (VUL) Assumpsitque centuriones et fortissimos viros ac principes populi et omne vulgus terrae, et fecerunt descendere regem de domo Domini et introire per medium portae Superioris in domum regis et collocaverunt eum in solio regali.
20 (UKJV) And he took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of the LORD: and they came through the high gate into the king's house, and set the king upon the throne of the kingdom.

21 (KAT) Všetok vidiecky ľud sa tešil a mesto ostalo ticho. Ataliu však usmrtili mečom.
21 (VUL) Laetatusque est omnis populus terrae, et urbs quievit; porro Athalia interfecta est gladio.
21 (UKJV) And all the people of the land rejoiced: and the city was quiet, after that they had slain Athaliah with the sword.
