1 (B21) Synové Judovi: Peres, Checron, Karmi, Chur a Šobal.
1 (HEM) בני יהודה פרץ חצרון וכרמי וחור ושובל׃
1 (UKJV) "The sons of Judah; Pharez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal. "

2 (B21) Šobalův syn Reajáš zplodil Jachata. Jachat zplodil Achumaje a Lahada. To jsou corejské rody.
2 (HEM) וראיה בן שובל הוליד את יחת ויחת הליד את אחומי ואת להד אלה משפחות הצרעתי׃
2 (UKJV) "And Reaiah the son of Shobal brings forth Jahath; and Jahath brings forth Ahumai, and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites. "

3 (B21) Toto jsou synové otce Etama: Jizreel, Jišma a Jidbaš (jejich sestře se říkalo Haclelponi),
3 (HEM) ואלה אבי עיטם יזרעאל וישמא וידבש ושם אחותם הצללפוני׃
3 (UKJV) "And these were of the father of Etam; Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash: and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi: "

4 (B21) dále Penuel, otec Gedorův, a Ezer, otec Chušův. To jsou synové Efratina prvorozeného Chura, otce Betléma.
4 (HEM) ופנואל אבי גדר ועזר אבי חושה אלה בני חור בכור אפרתה אבי בית לחם׃
4 (UKJV) And Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah, the father of Bethlehem.

5 (B21) Ašchur, otec Tekoje, měl dvě manželky: Chelu a Naaru.
5 (HEM) ולאשחור אבי תקוע היו שתי נשים חלאה ונערה׃
5 (UKJV) And Ashur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

6 (B21) Naara mu porodila Achuzama, Chefera, Temniho a Achaštariho - ti všichni jsou synové Naary.
6 (HEM) ותלד לו נערה את אחזם ואת חפר ואת תימני ואת האחשתרי אלה בני נערה׃
6 (UKJV) And Naarah bare him Ahuzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.

7 (B21) Chela mu porodila Cereta, Jicchara a Etnana.
7 (HEM) ובני חלאה צרת יצחר ואתנן׃
7 (UKJV) And the sons of Helah were, Zereth, and Jezoar, and Ethnan.

8 (B21) Koc zplodil Anuba, Cobebu a rody Acharchela, syna Harumova.
8 (HEM) וקוץ הוליד את ענוב ואת הצבבה ומשפחות אחרחל בן הרום׃
8 (UKJV) And Coz brings forth Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.

9 (B21) Jábec byl slavnější než jeho bratři. Jeho matka ho pojmenovala Jábec, Trápení, neboť řekla: "Porodila jsem ho s trápením."
9 (HEM) ויהי יעבץ נכבד מאחיו ואמו קראה שמו יעבץ לאמר כי ילדתי בעצב׃
9 (UKJV) And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.

10 (B21) Jábec volal k Bohu Izraele: "Kéž bys mi požehnal a rozšířil mé území! Kéž by tvá ruka byla se mnou a chránila mě od zlého, abych neměl trápení!" A Bůh mu dal, oč žádal.
10 (HEM) ויקרא יעבץ לאלהי ישראל לאמר אם ברך תברכני והרבית את גבולי והיתה ידך עמי ועשית מרעה לבלתי עצבי ויבא אלהים את אשר שאל׃
10 (UKJV) And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

11 (B21) Kelub, bratr Šuchův, zplodil Mechira, který je otcem Eštona.
11 (HEM) וכלוב אחי שוחה הוליד את מחיר הוא אבי אשתון׃
11 (UKJV) And Chelub the brother of Shuah brings forth Mehir, which was the father of Eshton.

12 (B21) Ešton zplodil Bet-rafu, Paseacha a Techinu, otce Ir-nachaše. To jsou muži Rechabovi.
12 (HEM) ואשתון הוליד את בית רפא ואת פסח ואת תחנה אבי עיר נחש אלה אנשי רכה׃
12 (UKJV) And Eshton brings forth Bethrapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Irnahash. These are the men of Rechah.

13 (B21) Synové Kenazovi: Otniel a Serajáš. Synové Otnielovi: Chatat
13 (HEM) ובני קנז עתניאל ושריה ובני עתניאל חתת׃
13 (UKJV) "And the sons of Kenaz; Othniel, and Seraiah: and the sons of Othniel; Hathath. "

14 (B21) a Meonotaj, otec Ofry. Serajáš zplodil Joába, otce řemeslníků žijících v Ge-charašim.
14 (HEM) ומעונתי הוליד את עפרה ושריה הוליד את יואב אבי גיא חרשים כי חרשים היו׃
14 (UKJV) "And Meonothai brings forth Ophrah: and Seraiah brings forth Joab, the father of the valley of Charashim; for they were craftsmen. "

15 (B21) Synové Káleba, syna Jefunova: Iru, Ela a Naam. Syn Elův: Kenaz.
15 (HEM) ובני כלב בן יפנה עירו אלה ונעם ובני אלה וקנז׃
15 (UKJV) "And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh; Iru, Elah, and Naam: and the sons of Elah, even Kenaz. "

16 (B21) Synové Jehalelelovi: Zif, Zifa, Tirja a Asarel.
16 (HEM) ובני יהללאל זיף וזיפה תיריא ואשראל׃
16 (UKJV) "And the sons of Jehaleleel; Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asareel. "

17 (B21) Synové Ezry: Jeter, Mered, Efer a Jalon. Meredova žena Bitja mu porodila Mirjama, Šamaje a Jišbacha, otce Eštemoy.
17 (HEM) ובן עזרה יתר ומרד ועפר וילון ותהר את מרים ואת שמי ואת ישבח אבי אשתמע׃
17 (UKJV) And the sons of Ezra were, Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon: and she bare Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

18 (B21) (Jeho judská žena porodila Jereda, otce Gedoru, Hebera, otce Socha, a Jekutiela, otce Zanoachu.) To jsou synové faraonovy dcery Bitji, kterou si Mered vzal.
18 (HEM) ואשתו היהדיה ילדה את ירד אבי גדור ואת חבר אבי שוכו ואת יקותיאל אבי זנוח ואלה בני בתיה בת פרעה אשר לקח מרד׃
18 (UKJV) And his wife Jehudijah bare Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, which Mered took.

19 (B21) Synové Hodiášovy ženy, sestry Nachama, byli otcové garmijské Keíly a maachatské Eštemoy.
19 (HEM) ובני אשת הודיה אחות נחם אבי קעילה הגרמי ואשתמע המעכתי׃
19 (UKJV) And the sons of his wife Hodiah the sister of Naham, the father of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maachathite.

20 (B21) Synové Šimonovi: Amnon, Rina, Ben-chanan a Tilon. Synové Jišiho: Zochet a Ben-zochet.
20 (HEM) ובני שימון אמנון ורנה בן חנן ותולון ובני ישעי זוחת ובן זוחת׃
20 (UKJV) And the sons of Shimon were, Amnon, and Rinnah, Benhanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi were, Zoheth, and Benzoheth.

21 (B21) Synové Šely, syna Judova: Er, otec Lechy; Laada, otec Mareši a rodu tkalců kmentu v Bet-ašbeji,
21 (HEM) בני שלה בן יהודה ער אבי לכה ולעדה אבי מרשה ומשפחות בית עבדת הבץ לבית אשבע׃
21 (UKJV) The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were, Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea,

22 (B21) dále Jokim, obyvatelé Kozeby, dále Joaš a Saraf, kteří ovládali Moáb, a Jašubi-lechem. (Jsou to pradávné záznamy.)
22 (HEM) ויוקים ואנשי כזבא ויואש ושרף אשר בעלו למואב וישבי לחם והדברים עתיקים׃
22 (UKJV) And Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had the dominion in Moab, and Jashubilehem. And these are ancient things.

23 (B21) Byli to hrnčíři žijící v Netaimu a Gedeře, kde pracovali pro krále.
23 (HEM) המה היוצרים וישבי נטעים וגדרה עם המלך במלאכתו ישבו שם׃
23 (UKJV) These were the potters, and those that dwelt among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his work.

24 (B21) Synové Šimeonovi: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerach a Šaul.
24 (HEM) בני שמעון נמואל וימין יריב זרח שאול׃
24 (UKJV) The sons of Simeon were, Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul:

25 (B21) Jeho syn byl Šalum, jeho syn Mibšam a jeho syn Mišma.
25 (HEM) שלם בנו מבשם בנו משמע בנו׃
25 (UKJV) Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.

26 (B21) Mišmovi synové: jeho syn Chamuel, jeho syn Zakur a jeho syn Šimei.
26 (HEM) ובני משמע חמואל בנו זכור בנו שמעי בנו׃
26 (UKJV) "And the sons of Mishma; Hamuel his son, Zacchur his son, Shimei his son. "

27 (B21) Šimei měl šestnáct synů a šest dcer, ale jeho bratři neměli tolik synů, takže se jejich rody nerozmnožily tolik jako synové Judovi.
27 (HEM) ולשמעי בנים ששה עשר ובנות שש ולאחיו אין בנים רבים וכל משפחתם לא הרבו עד בני יהודה׃
27 (UKJV) And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters: but his brethren had not many children, neither did all their family multiply, like to the children of Judah.

28 (B21) Bydleli v Beer-šebě, Moladě, Chacar-šualu,
28 (HEM) וישבו בבאר שבע ומולדה וחצר שועל׃
28 (UKJV) And they dwelt at Beersheba, and Moladah, and Hazarshual,

29 (B21) v Bilze, Ecemu, Toladu,
29 (HEM) ובבלהה ובעצם ובתולד׃
29 (UKJV) And at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,

30 (B21) Betuelu, Chormě, Ciklagu,
30 (HEM) ובבתואל ובחרמה ובציקלג׃
30 (UKJV) And at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,

31 (B21) v Bet-markabotu, Chacar-susimu, Bet-bireji a Šaarajimu. To byla jejich města až do kralování Davidova.
31 (HEM) ובבית מרכבות ובחצר סוסים ובבית בראי ובשערים אלה עריהם עד מלך דויד׃
31 (UKJV) And at Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusim, and at Bethbirei, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities unto the reign of David.

32 (B21) Jejich vesnice byly: Etam, Ajin Rimon, Tochen, Ašan, to bylo pět městeček
32 (HEM) וחצריהם עיטם ועין רמון ותכן ועשן ערים חמש׃
32 (UKJV) And their villages were, Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities:

33 (B21) a v okolí těchto městeček byly všechny jejich vesnice až do Baalaty. To jsou jejich usedlosti a tak je měli zaznamenány.
33 (HEM) וכל חצריהם אשר סביבות הערים האלה עד בעל זאת מושבתם והתיחשם להם׃
33 (UKJV) And all their villages that were round about the same cities, unto Baal. These were their habitations, and their genealogy.

34 (B21) Dále Mešobab, Jamlech, Joša, syn Amaciášův,
34 (HEM) ומשובב וימלך ויושה בן אמציה׃
34 (UKJV) And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son of Amaziah,

35 (B21) Joel, Jehu, syn Jošibiáše, syna Serajášova, syna Asielova;
35 (HEM) ויואל ויהוא בן יושביה בן שריה בן עשיאל׃
35 (UKJV) And Joel, and Jehu the son of Josibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,

36 (B21) také Eljoenaj, Jahkoba, Ješochajáš, Asajáš, Adiel, Jesimiel a Benajáš;
36 (HEM) ואליועיני ויעקבה וישוחיה ועשיה ועדיאל וישימאל ובניה׃
36 (UKJV) And Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

37 (B21) i Ziza, syn Šifhiův, syna Alonova, syna Jedajášova, syna Šimrího, syna Šemajášova.
37 (HEM) וזיזא בן שפעי בן אלון בן ידיה בן שמרי בן שמעיה׃
37 (UKJV) "And Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah; "

38 (B21) Výše jmenovaní byli vůdcové svých rodů a jejich otcovské domy se hojně rozrostly.
38 (HEM) אלה הבאים בשמות נשיאים במשפחותם ובית אבותיהם פרצו לרוב׃
38 (UKJV) These mentioned by their names were princes in their families: and the house of their fathers increased greatly.

39 (B21) Proto se vydali hledat pastvu pro své ovce a kozy až ke Gedorskému průsmyku na východní straně údolí.
39 (HEM) וילכו למבוא גדר עד למזרח הגיא לבקש מרעה לצאנם׃
39 (UKJV) And they went to the entrance of Gedor, even unto the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

40 (B21) Nalezli vydatné a dobré pastviny a prostranný, tichý a klidný kraj. Jeho předchozí obyvatelé byli potomci Chamovi.
40 (HEM) וימצאו מרעה שמן וטוב והארץ רחבת ידים ושקטת ושלוה כי מן חם הישבים שם לפנים׃
40 (UKJV) "And they found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceable; for they of Ham had dwelt there of old. "

41 (B21) Tito jmenovitě zapsaní muži za dnů judského krále Ezechiáše přišli a zaútočili na jejich příbytky i na Meunity, kteří tam žili. Vyhladili je jako proklaté (jak je tomu dodnes) a usadili se tam místo nich, neboť tam byla pastva pro jejich ovce a kozy.
41 (HEM) ויבאו אלה הכתובים בשמות בימי יחזקיהו מלך יהודה ויכו את אהליהם ואת המעינים אשר נמצאו שמה ויחרימם עד היום הזה וישבו תחתיהם כי מרעה לצאנם שם׃
41 (UKJV) And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and stroke their tents, and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their rooms: because there was pasture there for their flocks.

42 (B21) Někteří ze synů Šimeonových došli až k hoře Seír. Bylo to pět set mužů v čele s Jišiho syny Pelatiášem, Neariášem, Refajášem a Uzielem.
42 (HEM) ומהם מן בני שמעון הלכו להר שעיר אנשים חמש מאות ופלטיה ונעריה ורפיה ועזיאל בני ישעי בראשם׃
42 (UKJV) And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

43 (B21) Pobili poslední pozůstatky Amalekovců a sídlí tam až dodnes.
43 (HEM) ויכו את שארית הפלטה לעמלק וישבו שם עד היום הזה׃
43 (UKJV) And they stroke the rest of the Amalekites that were escaped, and dwelt there unto this day.
