1 (HEM) ויהי אחרי כן ויך דויד את פלשתים ויכניעם ויקח את גת ובנתיה מיד פלשתים׃
1 (UKJV) Now after this it came to pass, that David stroke the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 (HEM) ויך את מואב ויהיו מואב עבדים לדויד נשאי מנחה׃
2 (UKJV) "And he stroke Moab; and the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts. "

3 (HEM) ויך דויד את הדדעזר מלך צובה חמתה בלכתו להציב ידו בנהר פרת׃
3 (UKJV) And David stroke Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.

4 (HEM) וילכד דויד ממנו אלף רכב ושבעת אלפים פרשים ועשרים אלף איש רגלי ויעקר דויד את כל הרכב ויותר ממנו מאה רכב׃
4 (UKJV) And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David also cut the hamstrings of all the chariot horses, but reserved of them an hundred chariots.

5 (HEM) ויבא ארם דרמשק לעזור להדדעזר מלך צובה ויך דויד בארם עשרים ושנים אלף איש׃
5 (UKJV) And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

6 (HEM) וישם דויד בארם דרמשק ויהי ארם לדויד עבדים נשאי מנחה ויושע יהוה לדויד בכל אשר הלך׃
6 (UKJV) "Then David put garrisons in Syriadamascus; and the Syrians became David's servants, and brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David anywhere he went. "

7 (HEM) ויקח דויד את שלטי הזהב אשר היו על עבדי הדדעזר ויביאם ירושלם׃
7 (UKJV) And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 (HEM) ומטבחת ומכון ערי הדדעזר לקח דויד נחשת רבה מאד בה עשה שלמה את ים הנחשת ואת העמודים ואת כלי הנחשת׃
8 (UKJV) Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

9 (HEM) וישמע תעו מלך חמת כי הכה דויד את כל חיל הדדעזר מלך צובה׃
9 (UKJV) "Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah; "

10 (HEM) וישלח את הדורם בנו אל המלך דויד לשאול לו לשלום ולברכו על אשר נלחם בהדדעזר ויכהו כי איש מלחמות תעו היה הדדעזר וכל כלי זהב וכסף ונחשת׃
10 (UKJV) "He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass. "

11 (HEM) גם אתם הקדיש המלך דויד ליהוה עם הכסף והזהב אשר נשא מכל הגוים מאדום וממואב ומבני עמון ומפלשתים ומעמלק׃
11 (UKJV) "Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek. "

12 (HEM) ואבשי בן צרויה הכה את אדום בגיא המלח שמונה עשר אלף׃
12 (UKJV) Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.

13 (HEM) וישם באדום נציבים ויהיו כל אדום עבדים לדויד ויושע יהוה את דויד בכל אשר הלך׃
13 (UKJV) "And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David anywhere he went. "

14 (HEM) וימלך דויד על כל ישראל ויהי עשה משפט וצדקה לכל עמו׃
14 (UKJV) So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people.

15 (HEM) ויואב בן צרויה על הצבא ויהושפט בן אחילוד מזכיר׃
15 (UKJV) "And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder. "

16 (HEM) וצדוק בן אחיטוב ואבימלך בן אביתר כהנים ושושא סופר׃
16 (UKJV) "And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe; "

17 (HEM) ובניהו בן יהוידע על הכרתי והפלתי ובני דויד הראשנים ליד המלך׃
17 (UKJV) "And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king. "
