1 (KAT) A títo prišli za Dávidom do Sikelegu, keď bol ešte vylúčený spred tváre Kisovho syna Šaula; patrili k hrdinom, ktorí pomáhali v boji,
1 (VUL) Hi quoque venerunt ad Da vid in Siceleg, cum adhuc fu geret Saul filium Cis; qui erant fortissimi et egregii pugnatores
1 (UKJV) Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war.

2 (KAT) naťahovali kušu, pravou i ľavou rukou hádzali kamene a strieľali šípy: Zo Šaulových bratov Benjamíncov:
2 (VUL) tendentes arcum et utraque manu fundis saxa iacientes et dirigentes sagittas. De fratribus Saul ex Beniamin:

16 (UKJV) And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.

17 (KAT) Dávid im vyšiel v ústrety a ohlásil sa: „Ak prichádzate ku mne pokojne a chcete mi pomáhať, bude moje srdce držať spolu s vami, ale ak preto, aby ste ma zradili mojim nepriateľom, hoci na mojich rukách neväzí neprávosť, nech to vidí a tresce Boh našich otcov!“
17 (VUL) Venerunt autem et de Beniamin et de Iuda ad praesidium, in quo morabatur David.
17 (UKJV) And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If all of you be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if all of you be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

18 (KAT) Vtedy Amasaia, veliteľa tridsiatky, objal duch: „Tebe, Dávid, a s tebou, syn Izaiho, nech je pokoj! Pokoj s tebou, pokoj s tými, čo ti pomáhajú, lebo ti pomáha tvoj Boh.“ Dávid ich teda prijal a zadelil medzi vodcov koristníkov.
18 (VUL) Egressusque est David obviam eis et ait: “ Si pacifice venistis ad me, ut auxiliemini mihi, cor meum iungatur vobis; si autem insidiamini mihi pro adversariis meis, cum ego iniquitatem in manibus non habeam, videat Deus patrum nostrorum et iudicet ”.

19 (KAT) Z Manassesovcov prišli niektorí k Dávidovi, keď išiel s Filištíncami do boja proti Šaulovi. Ale nepomáhali im, lebo filištínske kniežatá ho po porade poslali preč, vraviac: „Za naše hlavy sa pridá k svojmu pánovi Šaulovi.“

21 (KAT) Oni boli Dávidovi na pomoci proti koristníkom, lebo všetci boli smelí bojovníci a stali sa kniežatami vo vojsku.
21 (VUL) Quando igitur reversus est in Siceleg, transfugerunt ad eum de Manasse Ednas et Iozabad et Iedihel et Michael et Iozabad et Eliu et Selathai principes milium in Manasse:
21 (UKJV) And they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.

22 (KAT) Lebo deň čo deň prichádzali k Dávidovi pomocníci, až ich bol veľký tábor ako tábor Boží.
22 (VUL) hi praebuerunt auxilium David adversus latrunculos; omnes enim erant viri fortissimi et facti sunt principes in exercitu.
22 (UKJV) For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.

29 (UKJV) And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three thousand: for until now the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul.

30 (KAT) Zo synov Efraima dvadsaťtisícosemsto smelých bojovníkov, chýrnych mužov vo svojom rode.
30 (VUL) De filiis autem Beniamin fratribus Saul tria milia; magna enim pars eorum adhuc sequebatur domum Saul.
30 (UKJV) And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the house of their fathers.

31 (KAT) Z polovice Manassesovho kmeňa osemnásťtisíc. Boli určení podľa mena, aby išli a ustanovili Dávida za kráľa.

37 (KAT) A zo Zajordánska, z Rubena, Gada a polovice Manassesovho kmeňa so všetkými zbraňami bojového vojska: stodvadsaťtisíc.
37 (VUL) Et de Aser egredientes ad pugnam et in acie procedentes quadraginta milia.
37 (UKJV) And on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand.

38 (KAT) Všetci títo bojovníci vystrojení do šíku prišli s ochotným srdcom do Hebronu, aby Dávida ustanovili za kráľa nad celým Izraelom, ale aj ostatní Izraeliti jednomyseľne chceli Dávida urobiť kráľom.

38 (UKJV) All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

39 (KAT) A boli tam u Dávida tri dni a jedli a pili, lebo ich bratia im nachystali.
39 (VUL) Omnes isti viri bellatores expediti ad pugnandum corde perfecto venerunt in Hebron, ut constituerent regem David super universum Israel; sed et omnes reliqui ex Israel uno corde erant, ut rex fieret David.
39 (UKJV) And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.

40 (KAT) Ale aj tí, čo bývali blízo nich až po Isacharovcov, Zabulonovcov a Neftalimovcov, donášali chlieb na osloch, ťavách, muliciach a dobytku, (tiež) múčne jedlá, figové a hrozienkové koláče, vína, olej, dobytok a ovce v hojnosti, lebo v Izraeli bola radosť.
40 (VUL) Fueruntque ibi apud David tribus diebus comedentes et bibentes; praeparaverunt enim eis fratres sui.
40 (UKJV) Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and food, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.

Verš 19
Z Manassesovcov prišli niektorí k Dávidovi, keď išiel s Filištíncami do boja proti Šaulovi. Ale nepomáhali im, lebo filištínske kniežatá ho po porade poslali preč, vraviac: „Za naše hlavy sa pridá k svojmu pánovi Šaulovi.“
1Sam 29:1 - Filištínci zhromaždili celé svoje vojsko do Afeku, Izraeliti táborili pri prameni, ktorý je v Jezraeli.
