1 (KAT) V deviatom roku jeho kraľovania, v desiatom mesiaci, na desiaty deň mesiaca prišiel babylonský kráľ Nabuchodonozor a celé jeho vojsko proti Jeruzalemu, utáboril sa proti nemu a postavil okolo neho násyp.
1 (VUL) Factum est autem anno nono regni eius, mense decimo, decima die mensis venit Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis ipse et omnis exercitus eius in Ierusalem; et circumdederunt eam et exstruxerunt in circuitu eius munitiones.
1 (UKJV) "And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about. "

2 (KAT) Mesto bolo v stave obliehania až do jedenásteho roku kráľa Sedekiáša.
2 (VUL) Et clausa est civitas atque vallata usque ad undecimum annum regis Sedeciae.
2 (UKJV) And the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

3 (KAT) Na deviaty deň mesiaca (štvrtého) sa v meste tak rozmohol hlad, že vidiecky ľud nemal chleba.
3 (VUL) Nona die mensis quarti praevaluit fames in civitate, nec erat panis populo terrae.
3 (UKJV) And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.

4 (KAT) Mesto dostalo trhlinu a všetci bojovníci ušli; v noci vytiahli z mesta cestou cez bránu, ktorá bola pri kráľovskej záhrade - hoci Chaldejci obkľučovali mesto -, a dali sa smerom k Arabe.
4 (VUL) Et interrupta est civitas, et omnes viri bellatores fugerunt exieruntque de civitate nocte per viam portae, quae est inter duplicem murum ad hortum regis, obsidentibus Chaldaeis in circuitu civitatem. Abierunt itaque per viam, quae ducit ad Arabam.
4 (UKJV) And the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which is by the king's garden: (now the Chaldees were against the city round about:) and the king went the way toward the plain.

5 (KAT) Chaldejské oddiely prenasledovali kráľa a dochytili ho na Jerišskej rovine. Všetky jeho oddiely sa však rozpŕchli od neho.
5 (VUL) Et persecutus est exercitus Chaldaeorum regem comprehenditque eum in planitie Iericho, et omnis exercitus eius dispersus est et reliquit eum.
5 (UKJV) And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.

6 (KAT) I zajali kráľa a zaviedli ho k babylonskému kráľovi do Rebly a on vyniesol nad ním rozsudok.
6 (VUL) Apprehensum ergo regem duxerunt ad regem Babylonis in Rebla, qui locutus est cum eo iudicium.
6 (UKJV) "So they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him. "

7 (KAT) Sedekiášových synov zabili pred jeho očami a Sedekiášovi oslepil oči, spútal ho okovami a odviedol ho do Babylonu.

7 (UKJV) And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.

8 (KAT) V piatom mesiaci, na siedmy deň mesiaca - v devätnástom roku kráľa Nabuchodonozora, babylonského kráľa - prišiel do Jeruzalema veliteľ telesnej stráže Nabuzardan, sluha babylonského kráľa.

8 (UKJV) And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:

9 (KAT) I podpálil Pánov chrám aj kráľovský palác a všetky jeruzalemské domy. Všetky veľké domy spálil.
9 (VUL) et succendit domum Domini et domum regis et omnes domos Ierusalem; omnemque domum combussit igne.
9 (UKJV) And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burnt he with fire.

10 (KAT) Všetko chaldejské vojsko, ktoré bolo s veliteľom telesnej stráže, zrúcalo múry okolo Jeruzalema
10 (VUL) Et muros Ierusalem in circuitu destruxit omnis exercitus Chaldaeorum, qui erat cum principe satellitum.
10 (UKJV) And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.

11 (KAT) a zvyšok ľudí, ktorí ostali v meste, tiež i prebehlíkov, ktorí prebehli k babylonskému kráľovi, ako aj zvyšok zástupu odviedol veliteľ telesnej stráže Nabuzardan do zajatia.
11 (VUL) Reliquam autem populi partem, qui remanserat in civitate, et perfugas, qui transfugerant ad regem Babylonis, et reliquum vulgus transtulit Nabuzardan princeps satellitum;
11 (UKJV) Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away.

12 (KAT) Z chudobných krajiny však nechal veliteľ telesnej stráže niektorých za vinohradníkov a roľníkov.
12 (VUL) et de pauperibus terrae reliquit in vinitores et agricolas.
12 (UKJV) But the captain of the guard left of the door of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen.

13 (KAT) Kovové stĺpy, ktoré boli v Pánovom chráme, podstavce a kovové more, ktoré bolo v Pánovom chráme, Chaldejci polámali a kov z nich odniesli do Babylonu.
13 (VUL) Columnas autem aereas, quae erant in templo Domini, et bases et mare aereum, quod erat in domo Domini, confregerunt Chaldaei et transtulerunt aes omnium in Babylonem.
13 (UKJV) And the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brazen sea that was in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to Babylon.

14 (KAT) Vzali aj hrnce, lopatky, nože a misky a všetky kovové nádoby, ktorými sa vykonávala služba:
14 (VUL) Ollas quoque et trullas et cultros et phialas et omnia vasa aerea, in quibus ministrabant, tulerunt;
14 (UKJV) And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.

15 (KAT) uhoľníky a kropáče, či boli zo zlata alebo zo striebra, zobral veliteľ telesnej stráže.
15 (VUL) necnon thymiamateria et phialas, quae aurea aurea et quae argentea argentea, tulit princeps satellitum;
15 (UKJV) And the fire-pans, and the bowls, and such things as were of gold, in gold, and of silver, in silver, the captain of the guard took away.

16 (KAT) Dva stĺpy, jedno more a podstavce, ktoré dal spraviť Šalamún v Pánovom chráme. Kov týchto predmetov nebolo možno odvážiť.

16 (UKJV) "The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight. "

17 (KAT) Výška každého stĺpa bola osemnásť lakťov. Na ňom bola kovová hlavica. Výška hlavice bola päť lakťov. Mriežkovanie a granátové jablká na hlavici dookola bolo všetko z kovu. Taký bol aj druhý stĺp s mriežkovaním.
17 (VUL) Decem et octo cubitos altitudinis habebat columna una et capitellum aereum super se altitudinis quinque cubitorum; et reticulum et malogranata super capitellum in circuitu omnia aerea; similem et columna secunda habebat ornatum.
17 (UKJV) "The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and the capital upon it was brass: and the height of the capital three cubits; and the interwoven work, and pomegranates upon the capital round about, all of brass: and like unto these had the second pillar with interwoven work. "

18 (KAT) Veliteľ telesnej stráže zajal aj veľkňaza Saraiáša a druhého kňaza Sofoniáša a troch strážcov prahu.
18 (VUL) Tulit quoque princeps satellitum Saraiam sacerdotem primum et Sophoniam sacerdotem secundum et tres ianitores
18 (UKJV) And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:

19 (KAT) Z mesta vzal jedného komorníka, ktorý bol veliteľom bojovníkov, päť mužov z osobnej kráľovej služby, ktorí boli v meste, vojvodcovho pisára, ktorý odvádzal ľud krajiny, a šesťdesiat mužov z vidieckeho ľudu, ktorí boli v meste.

19 (UKJV) And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king's presence, which were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, which mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city:

20 (KAT) Veliteľ telesnej stráže Nabuzardan ich zajal a zaviedol k babylonskému kráľovi do Rebly.
20 (VUL) quos tollens Nabuzardan princeps satellitum duxit ad regem Babylonis in Rebla,
20 (UKJV) And Nebuzaradan captain of the guard took these, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah:

21 (KAT) A babylonský kráľ ich dal pobiť; usmrtil ich v Reble v ematskej krajine. Júdu však odviedol z jeho pôdy do zajatia.
21 (VUL) percussitque eos rex Babylonis et interfecit in Rebla in terra Emath. Et translatus est Iuda de terra sua.
21 (UKJV) And the king of Babylon stroke them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.

22 (KAT) A čo sa týka ľudu, ktorý zostal v júdskej krajine, ktorý babylonský kráľ Nabuchodonozor ponechal, nad ním ustanovil Godoliáša, syna Achikama, syna Safana.
22 (VUL) Populo autem, qui relictus erat in terra Iudae, quem dimiserat Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis, praefecit Godoliam filium Ahicam filii Saphan.
22 (UKJV) And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.

23 (KAT) Keď všetci velitelia so svojím mužstvom počuli, že babylonský kráľ ustanovil Godoliáša, prišli ku Godoliášovi do Masfy. A to: Nataniášov syn Izmael, Kareho syn Johanan, Saraiáš, syn Netofanitu Tanehumeta, a Máchatanov syn Jesoniáš, oni aj ich mužstvá.
23 (VUL) Quod cum audissent omnes duces militum, videlicet quod constituisset rex Babylonis Godoliam, ipsi et viri, qui erant cum eis, venerunt ad Godoliam in Maspha: Ismael filius Nathaniae et Iohanan filius Caree et Saraia filius Thanehumeth Netophathites et Iezonias filius Maachathitis, ipsi et socii eorum.
23 (UKJV) And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, there came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Careah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

24 (KAT) Godoliáš sa zaprisahal im aj ich mužstvu a vravel im: „Nebojte sa podrobiť sa Chaldejcom! Ostaňte v krajine, buďte poddaní babylonskému kráľovi a bude vám dobre!“
24 (VUL) Iuravitque eis Godolias et sociis eorum dicens: “ Nolite timere a servis Chaldaeorum; manete in terra et servite regi Babylonis, et bene erit vobis ”.
24 (UKJV) "And Gedaliah swore to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you. "

25 (KAT) Ale v siedmom mesiaci prišiel Izmael, syn Nataniáša, syna Elisamovho z kráľovského rodu a s ním desať mužov a zabil Godoliáša a podobne aj Júdovcov a Chaldejcov, ktorí boli s ním v Masfe.
25 (VUL) Factum est autem in mense septimo venit Ismael filius Nathaniae filii Elisama de semine regio et decem viri cum eo; percusseruntque Godoliam, qui mortuus est, sed et Iudaeos et Chaldaeos, qui erant cum eo in Maspha.
25 (UKJV) But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and stroke Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah.

26 (KAT) Nato sa zobral všetok ľud, malí i veľkí, aj velitelia oddielov a išli do Egypta, lebo sa báli Chaldejcov.
26 (VUL) Consurgens autem populus a parvo usque ad magnum et principes militum venerunt in Aegyptum timentes Chaldaeos.
26 (UKJV) And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt: for they were afraid of the Chaldees.

27 (KAT) V tridsiatom siedmom roku zajatia júdskeho kráľa Joachina, v dvanástom mesiaci, na dvadsiaty siedmy deň mesiaca babylonský kráľ Evil Merodach v roku svojho nastúpenia omilostil júdskeho kráľa Joachina (a vyviedol ho) zo žalára.
27 (VUL) Factum est vero anno tricesimo septimo transmigrationis Ioachin regis Iudae, mense duodecimo vicesima septima die mensis sublevavit Evilmerodach rex Babylonis anno, quo regnare coeperat, caput Ioachin regis Iudae de carcere.
27 (UKJV) "And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison; "

28 (KAT) Hovoril s ním láskavo a jeho trón postavil nad tróny kráľov, ktorí boli s ním v Babylone.
28 (VUL) Et locutus est ei benigna et posuit thronum eius super thronos regum, qui erant cum eo in Babylone,
28 (UKJV) "And he spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon; "

29 (KAT) Zamenil mu zajatecký odev a jedol s ním stále, po všetky dni svojho života.
29 (VUL) et mutavit vestes eius, quas habuerat in carcere; et comedebat panem semper in conspectu eius cunctis diebus vitae suae.
29 (UKJV) And changed his prison garments: and he did eat bread continually before him all the days of his life.

30 (KAT) Zaopatrenie, a to zaopatrenie trvalé, dostával každodenne od kráľa po všetky dni svojho života.
