2Kr 2, 1-25

1 (KAT) Keď Pán chcel Eliáša vziať vo víchrici do neba, išiel Eliáš a Elizeus z Galgaly.
1 (VUL) Factum est autem cum levare vellet Dominus Eliam per turbi nem in caelum, ibant Elias et Eliseus de Galgalis;
1 (UKJV) And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

2 (KAT) Tu Eliáš povedal Elizeovi: „Ostaň tu, lebo ma Pán poslal až do Betelu!“ Ale Elizeus odpovedal: „Ako žije Pán a ako žiješ ty, neopustím ťa!“ Išli teda do Betelu.
2 (VUL) dixitque Elias ad Eliseum: “ Sede hic, quia Dominus misit me usque Bethel ”. Cumque descendissent Bethel,
2 (UKJV) "And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray you; for the LORD has sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. So they went down to Bethel. "

”. Qui respondit: “ Et ego novi, silete ”.
3 (UKJV) "And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Know you that the LORD will take away your master from your head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold all of you your peace. "

4 (KAT) Potom mu Eliáš povedal: „Elizeus, ostaň tu, lebo Pán ma poslal až do Jericha!“ Odpovedal: „Ako žije Pán a ako žiješ ty, neopustím ťa!“ Išli teda do Jericha.
4 (VUL) Dixit autem ei Elias: “ Elisee, sede hic, quia Dominus misit me in Iericho ”. Cumque venissent Ierichum,
4 (UKJV) "And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray you; for the LORD has sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. So they came to Jericho. "

”. Et ait: “ Et ego novi, silete ”.
5 (UKJV) "And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Know you that the LORD will take away your master from your head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold all of you your peace. "

6 (KAT) Potom mu Eliáš povedal: „Ostaň tu, lebo Pán ma poslal k Jordánu!“ Odpovedal: „Ako žije Pán a ako žiješ ty, neopustím ťa!“ Išli teda obaja.
Ierunt igitur ambo pariter,
6 (UKJV) "And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray you, here; for the LORD has sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And they two went on. "

7 (UKJV) And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view far off: and they two stood by Jordan.

8 (UKJV) And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and stroke the waters, and they were divided here and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.

Dixitque Eliseus: “ Obsecro, ut fiant duae partes spiritus tui in me ”.
9 (UKJV) And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for you, before I be taken away from you. And Elisha said, I pray you, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.

10 (VUL) Qui respondit: “ Rem difficilem postulasti. Attamen si videris me, quando tollor a te, erit tibi, quod petisti; si autem non videris, non erit ”.
10 (UKJV) "And he said, You have asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so unto you; but if not, it shall not be so. "

11 (UKJV) "And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. "

12 (KAT) Keď to Elizeus videl, zvolal: „Otče môj, otče môj! Voz Izraela a jeho pohonič!“ A viac ho nevidel.
12 (UKJV) And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

13 (VUL) Et levavit pallium Eliae, quod ceciderat ei, reversusque stetit super ripam Iordanis.
13 (UKJV) "He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; "

14 (UKJV) And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and stroke the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted here and thither: and Elisha went over.

15 (UKJV) And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah does rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

16 (UKJV) "And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with your servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray you, and seek your master: lest possibly the Spirit of the LORD has taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, All of you shall not send. "

17 (KAT) Keď však až do zunovania naliehali naň, povedal: „Pošlite!“ Poslali teda päťdesiat mužov, ktorí ho tri dni hľadali, ale nenašli ho.
17 (VUL) Coegeruntque eum, donec acquiesceret et diceret: “ Mittite ”. Et miserunt quinquaginta viros. Qui cum quaesissent tribus diebus, non invenerunt
17 (UKJV) "And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not. "

18 (KAT) Keď sa vrátili k nemu - býval v Jerichu -, povedal im: „Či som vám nehovoril: Nechoďte!?“
18 (VUL) et reversi sunt ad eum. At ille habitabat in Iericho dixitque eis: “ Numquid non dixi vobis: Nolite ire?”.
18 (UKJV) And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?

19 (UKJV) And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray you, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees: but the water is nil, and the ground barren.

20 (KAT) Odpovedal: „Doneste mi novú nádobu a dajte do nej soli!“ Doniesli mu to,
20 (VUL) At ille ait: “Afferte mihi vas novum et mittite in illud sal ”. Qui cum attulissent,
20 (UKJV) And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.

21 (KAT) vyšiel k vodnému prameňu, vysypal do neho soľ a povedal: „Toto hovorí Pán: Uzdravil som túto vodu a už z nej nebude vychádzať smrť ani neúrodnosť!“
21 (UKJV) "And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus says the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land. "

22 (UKJV) So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spoke.

23 (KAT) Odtiaľ išiel hore do Betelu.
23 (UKJV) "And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, you bald head; go up, you bald head. "

24 (KAT) Nato sa obrátil a keď ich uvidel, preklial ich v Pánovom mene. Vtom vyšli z hory dve medvedice a roztrhali z nich štyridsaťdva chlapcov.
24 (UKJV) And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

25 (UKJV) And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.

2Kr 2, 1-25

Verš 12
Keď to Elizeus videl, zvolal: „Otče môj, otče môj! Voz Izraela a jeho pohonič!“ A viac ho nevidel.

2Kr 2,19 - Boli to občania Jericha. Koniec verša prekladajú mnohí: "Voda je zlá a zapríčiňuje v krajine potraty".
