2. kniha kráľov

1 (KAT) Joas začal kraľovať v siedmom roku Jehua a štyridsať rokov kraľoval v Jeruzaleme. Meno jeho matky bolo Sebia z Bersaby.
1 (VUL) Septemque annorum erat Ioas, cum regnare coepisset.
1 (UKJV) "In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba. "

2 (KAT) Joas robil po všetky dni, čo ho viedol kňaz Jojada, čo sa páči Pánovi.
2 (VUL) Anno septimo Iehu regnavit Ioas; quadraginta annis regnavit in Ierusalem. Nomen matris eius Sebia de Bersabee.
2 (UKJV) And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

3 (VUL) Fecitque Ioas rectum coram Domino cunctis diebus, quibus docuit eum Ioiada sacerdos.
3 (UKJV) But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

4 (KAT) Joas povedal kňazom: „Všetky peniaze svätyne, peniaze, ktoré sa platia do Pánovho chrámu ako výkupné za ľudí, a všetky peniaze, ktoré sa niekto sám rozhodne dať do Pánovho chrámu,
4 (VUL) Verumtamen excelsa non abstulit; adhuc populus immolabat et adolebat in excelsis.
4 (UKJV) And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passes the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that comes into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD,

5 (KAT) nech si vezmú kňazi, každý od svojich známych ale oni musia opravovať poruchy chrámu všade, kde sa poruchy zistia.“
5 (VUL) Dixitque Ioas ad sacerdotes: “ Omnem pecuniam sanctorum, quae illata fuerit in templum Domini a praetereuntibus, quae offertur pro pretio animae, et quam sponte et arbitrio cordis sui inferunt in templum Domini,
5 (UKJV) Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, where ever any breach shall be found.

6 (KAT) Lenže v dvadsiatom treťom roku kráľa Joasa kňazi ešte neopravovali poruchy na chráme.
6 (VUL) accipiant illam singuli sacerdotes a notis suis et instaurent sartatecta domus, si quid necessarium viderint instauratione ”.
6 (UKJV) But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.

7 (KAT) Preto kráľ Joas zavolal kňaza Jojadu a kňazov a povedal im: „Prečo neopravujete poruchy na chráme? Odteraz už neberte peniaze od svojich známych, ale ich obráťte na opravu porúchaných miest na chráme!“
7 (VUL) Igitur usque ad vicesimum tertium annum regis Ioas non instauraverunt sacerdotes sartatecta templi.
7 (UKJV) Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair all of you not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

8 (KAT) Kňazi súhlasili s tým, že nebudú od ľudí vyberať peniaze a že budú opravovať poruchy na chráme.
8 (VUL) Vocavitque rex Ioas Ioiada pontificem et sacerdotes dicens eis: “ Quare sartatecta non instauratis templi? Nolite ergo amplius accipere pecuniam a notis vestris, sed ad instaurationem templi reddite eam ”.
8 (UKJV) And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.

9 (KAT) Kňaz Jojada vzal debnu, do vrchnáka jej vydlabal dieru a postavil ju k oltáru po pravej ruke toho, kto prichádza do Pánovho chrámu. Ta dávali kňazi, ktorí strážili prah, všetky peniaze, ktoré donášali do Pánovho chrámu.
9 (VUL) Acquieveruntque sacerdotes ultra non accipere pecuniam a populo nec instaurare sartatecta domus.
9 (UKJV) But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one comes into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD.

10 (KAT) A keď videli, že je v debne veľa peňazí, prišiel hore kráľov pisár a veľkňaz a pozaväzovali a spočítali peniaze, ktoré sa našli v Pánovom chráme.
10 (VUL) Et tulit Ioiada pontifex gazophylacium unum aperuitque foramen desuper et posuit illud iuxta altare ad dexteram ingredientium domum Domini; mittebantque in eo sacerdotes, qui custodiebant ostia, omnem pecuniam, quae deferebatur ad templum Domini.
10 (UKJV) And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the LORD.

11 (KAT) Odvážené peniaze dali potom do rúk dielovedúcim, ktorí mali dozor v Pánovom chráme, a oni ich dávali tesárom a staviteľom, ktorí robili na Pánovom dome,
11 (VUL) Cumque viderent multam pecuniam esse in gazophylacio, ascendebat scriba regis et pontifex, colligebantque et numerabant pecuniam, quae inveniebatur in domo Domini,
11 (UKJV) And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,

12 (KAT) murárom a kamenárom na nákup dreva a tesaného kameňa na opravu porúch Pánovho chrámu a na všetko, čo bolo potrebné pri oprave Pánovho chrámu.
12 (VUL) et dabant eam iuxta numerum atque mensuram in manu opificum, qui operibus praepositi erant in domo Domini; ipsique impendebant eam in fabris lignorum et in structoribus, qui operabantur in domo Domini,
12 (UKJV) And to stone workers, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

13 (KAT) A z peňazí, ktoré došli do Pánovho chrámu, nedali robiť pre Pánov chrám čaše, nože, kropáče a trúby ani nijaké nádoby zlaté ani strieborné,
13 (VUL) et in caementariis et in his, qui caedebant saxa, et ut emerent ligna et lapides de lapicidinis, ut instaurarentur sartatecta domus Domini, et pro universis, quae indigebant expensa ad muniendam domum.
13 (UKJV) Nevertheless there were not made for the house of the LORD bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD:

14 (KAT) ale dávali ich dielovedúcim, ktorí za ne opravovali Pánov chrám.
14 (VUL) Verumtamen non fiebant pelves argenteae templi Domini et cultri et paterae et tubae, omne vas aureum et argenteum, de pecunia, quae inferebatur in templum Domini;
14 (UKJV) But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the LORD.

15 (KAT) A s ľuďmi, ktorým dávali peniaze do rúk, aby ich vyplácali robotníkom, sa neúčtovalo, lebo to robili poctivo.
15 (VUL) opificibus enim dabatur, ut instauraretur templum Domini.
15 (UKJV) Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.

16 (KAT) Peniaze z obetí za vinu a za hriech sa nedávali do Pánovho chrámu, patrili kňazom.
16 (VUL) Et non fiebat ratio his hominibus, qui accipiebant pecuniam, ut distribuerent eam operariis; illi enim in fide agebant.
16 (UKJV) The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the LORD: it was the priests'.

17 (KAT) Vtedy pritiahol aramejský kráľ Hazael, bojoval proti Gétu a zaujal ho. Potom sa strojil ísť hore proti Jeruzalemu.
17 (VUL) Pecuniam vero pro delicto et pecuniam pro peccatis non inferebatur in templum Domini, quia sacerdotum erat.
17 (UKJV) Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.

18 (KAT) Ale júdsky kráľ Joas vzal všetky posvätné dary, ktoré venovali jeho otcovia, júdski králi Jozafat, Joram a Ochoziáš, tiež svoje vlastné dary ako aj všetko zlato, ktoré sa nachádzalo v pokladniciach Pánovho chrámu a kráľovského paláca, poslal to aramejskému kráľovi Hazaelovi a on odtiahol od Jeruzalema.
18 (VUL) Tunc ascendit Hazael rex Syriae et pugnabat contra Geth; cepitque eam et direxit faciem suam, ut ascenderet in Ierusalem.
18 (UKJV) And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king's house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.

19 (KAT) Ostatok Joasových dejín, všetko, čo urobil, je napísané v Knihe letopisov júdskych kráľov.
19 (VUL) Quam ob rem tulit Ioas rex Iudae omnia sanctificata, quae consecraverant Iosaphat et Ioram et Ochozias patres eius reges Iudae, et quae ipse obtulerat, et universum aurum, quod inveniri potuit in thesauris templi Domini et in palatio regis, misitque Hazaeli regi Syriae; et recessit ab Ierusalem.
19 (UKJV) And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

20 (KAT) Jeho sluhovia povstali, sprisahali sa a Joasa zabili, keď išiel do domu Melo.
20 (VUL) Reliqua autem gestorum Ioas et universa, quae fecit, nonne haec scripta sunt in libro annalium regum Iudae?
20 (UKJV) And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goes down to Silla.

21 (KAT) Jeho sluhovia, Semátov syn Jozachar a Somerov syn Jozabad, ho tak udreli, že zomrel. Pochovali ho s jeho otcami v Dávidovom meste. Namiesto neho sa stal kráľom jeho syn Amasiáš.
21 (VUL) Surrexerunt autem servi eius et coniuraverunt inter se percusseruntque Ioas in domo Mello in descensu Sella.
21 (UKJV) "For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, stroke him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his position. "
