1 (KJV) And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
1 (KAT) Šalamún sa dostal do príbuzenstva s faraónom, kráľom Egypta. Vzal si faraónovu dcéru a zaviedol ju do Dávidovho mesta, kým nedokončil stavbu svojho domu, Pánovho domu a múrov okolo Jeruzalema.
2 (KJV) Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.
2 (KAT) Lenže ľud obetoval na výšinách, lebo až po tieto dni nebol postavený dom Pánovmu menu.
3 (KJV) And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
3 (KAT) Šalamún miloval Pána a kráčal podľa príkazov svojho otca Dávida. Ibaže aj on obetoval a pálil tymian na výšinách.
4 (KJV) And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
4 (KAT) Tak išiel kráľ do Gabaonu, aby tam obetoval, lebo to bola významná výšina. Šalamún obetoval na tamojšom oltári tisíc celopalov.
5 (KJV) In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
5 (KAT) V Gabaone sa Pán v noci vo sne zjavil Šalamúnovi a Boh povedal: „Žiadaj si, čo ti mám dať!“
6 (KJV) And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
6 (KAT) Šalamún odpovedal: „Ty si môjmu otcovi Dávidovi preukázal veľkú priazeň, pretože kráčal pred tebou verne, spravodlivo a so srdcom obráteným k tebe. A túto priazeň si mu zachoval, veď si mu dal syna, ktorý sedí na jeho tróne, ako je tomu dnes.
7 (KJV) And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
7 (KAT) Teraz však, Pane, môj Bože, ty si ustanovil svojho sluhu za kráľa namiesto môjho otca Dávida. Ale ja som malý chlapec, neviem, čo si počať.
8 (KJV) And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
8 (KAT) A pritom stojí tvoj sluha uprostred tvojho ľudu, ktorý si si vyvolil, ľudu početného, ktorý pre množstvo nemožno spočítať ani odhadnúť.
9 (KJV) Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
9 (KAT) Daj teda svojmu sluhovi srdce pozorné, aby spravoval tvoj ľud a rozlišoval medzi dobrým a zlým. Veď ktože by (ináč) mohol spravovať tento tvoj početný ľud?“
10 (KJV) And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
10 (KAT) Pánovi sa páčilo, že si Šalamún žiadal túto vec.
11 (KJV) And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;
11 (KAT) Preto mu Boh povedal: „Pretože si si žiadal túto vec a nežiadal si si dlhý vek, ani si si nežiadal bohatstvo, ani si nežiadal život svojich nepriateľov, ale si si žiadal chápavosť, aby si pochopil právo,
12 (KJV) Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
12 (KAT) urobím ti podľa žiadosti: Hľa, dám ti srdce múdre a chápavé, takže tebe podobného nebolo pred tebou a takého, ako si ty, nebude ani po tebe.
13 (KJV) And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
13 (KAT) Ale dám ti aj to, čo si nežiadal, aj bohatstvo, aj slávu, takže ti po všetky tvoje dni nebude podobného medzi kráľmi.
14 (KJV) And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.
14 (KAT) A ak zachovávaním mojich ustanovení a mojich príkazov budeš kráčať po mojich cestách, ako kráčal tvoj otec Dávid, dám ti (aj) dlhý vek.“
15 (KJV) And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
15 (KAT) Keď sa Šalamún prebudil, hľa, bol to iba sen! Potom išiel do Jeruzalema, stal si pred Pánovu archu zmluvy, obetoval celopaly, priniesol pokojné obety a pre celé svoje služobníctvo usporiadal hostinu.
16 (KJV) Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.
16 (KAT) V tom čase prišli ku kráľovi dve neviestky a predstúpili pred neho.
17 (KJV) And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
17 (KAT) Jedna zo žien povedala: „S dovolením, pane, ja a táto žena bývame v tom istom dome. I porodila som pri nej v dome.
18 (KJV) And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
18 (KAT) Na tretí deň po mojom zľahnutí porodila aj táto žena. Boli sme spolu a v dome nebol s nami nik cudzí; iba my dve sme boli v dome.
19 (KJV) And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it.
19 (KAT) V noci zomrel synček tejto ženy, lebo ho priľahla.
20 (KJV) And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
20 (KAT) Vprostred noci vstala, vzala spovedľa mňa môjho syna, keď tvoja služobnica spala, a položila si ho na prsia, svojho mŕtveho syna však položila na moje prsia.
21 (KJV) And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.
21 (KAT) Keď som ráno vstala a chcela som nadojčiť svojho syna, bol mŕtvy. Ale keď som sa naň dobre pozrela za vidna, nebol to môj syn, ktorého som porodila.“
22 (KJV) And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.
22 (KAT) Ale druhá žena povedala: „Nie, naopak, živý je môj syn a mŕtvy je tvoj syn.“ A tá zasa vravela: „Nie, ale mŕtvy je tvoj syn a živý je môj syn.“ A dohovárali sa pred kráľom.
23 (KJV) Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.
23 (KAT) Nato kráľ povedal: „Táto vraví: »Tento živý je môj syn a mŕtvy je tvoj syn.« A tá hovorí: »Nie, ale mŕtvy je tvoj syn a živý je môj syn.«“
24 (KJV) And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
24 (KAT) Tu rozkázal kráľ: „Doneste mi meč!“ Doniesli meč pred kráľa
25 (KJV) And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.
25 (KAT) a kráľ povedal: „Pretnite živé dieťa na dvoje a dajte polovicu jednej a polovicu druhej!“
26 (KJV) Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.
26 (KAT) Nato žena, ktorej syn bol živý, povedala kráľovi, lebo sa pohla jej láska k vlastnému dieťaťu: „S dovolením, pane! Dajte jej živé dieťa, a nezabíjajte ho!“ Druhá však vravela: „Nech nie je ani moje, ani tvoje! Pretnite!“
27 (KJV) Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.
27 (KAT) Nato sa ozval kráľ a povedal: „Dajte tamtej živé dieťa a nezabíjajte ho, ona je jeho matkou.“
28 (KJV) And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.
28 (KAT) Celý Izrael sa dopočul o rozsudku, ktorý vyniesol kráľ, a báli sa kráľa, lebo vedeli, že je v ňom Božia múdrosť, keď vynáša rozsudok.

Verš 1
And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
1Kr 7:8 - And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh's daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.
Verš 2
Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.
Dt 12:5 - But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
Verš 4
And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
2Krn 1:3 - So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
Verš 5
In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
1Kr 9:2 - That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.
Verš 7
And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
2Krn 2:8 - Send me also cedar trees, fir trees, and algum trees, out of Lebanon: for I know that thy servants can skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants,

And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
2Krn 1:9 - Now , O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
Verš 11
And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;
2Krn 1:11 - And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
Verš 12
Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
Kaz 1:16 - I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.
Verš 13
And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
Mt 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Ef 3:20 - Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
1Kr 3,1 - Faraón, ktorého dcéru si vzal za ženu Šalamún, bol azda Siamon (976-958 pr. Kr.), predposledný kráľ 21. dynastie, ktorá sídlila v Tanise, v Delte. Ale s istotou to nemožno určiť. - Podľa 7,8 dal Šalamún aj faraónovej dcére postaviť osobitný palác, zatiaľ však bývala spolu so Šalamúnom v dome, ktorý dal postaviť Dávid (2 Sam 5,11).
1Kr 3,2 - Izraeliti prinášali na výšinách obety pravému Bohu. Ale táto nezákonitá bohoslužba bola zakázaná, lebo často viedla k modloslužbe. Proroci neskoršie veľmi karhali pre ňu národ. Kým však nebol postavený jeruzalemský chrám, tento zákaz nebol taký prísny, a z Božieho príkazu niekedy aj proroci alebo pobožní králi prinášali obety na výšinách.
1Kr 3,4 - Gabaon (dnes El-Džíb), severozápadne od Jeruzalema bol tiež posvätnou výšinou. Tam stál v tom čase Mojžišov svätostánok a kovový oltár, hoci archa zmluvy bola v Jeruzaleme; porov. 2 Krn 1,3-6.
1Kr 3,15 - Hostina bola pravidelným zakončením pokojných obetí. Obyčajne sa na nej zúčastňovali len príslušníci rodiny, ktorá obetu prinášala, ale Šalamún pozýva na ňu všetkých svojich vysokých úradníkov.
