Biblia - Sväté písmo

(KJV - Anglický - King James)

1Kr 17, 1-24

1 (KJV) And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
1 (KAT) Vtedy Tesban Eliáš z Tesbe v Galaáde povedal Achabovi: „Ako žije Pán, Izraelov Boh, v ktorého službe stojím, nebude v týchto rokoch rosa ani dážď, iba na moje slovo.“

2 (KJV) And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
2 (KAT) Potom ho Pán oslovil:

3 (KJV) Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

4 (KJV) And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
4 (KAT) Z potoka budeš piť a krkavcom som prikázal, aby ťa tam živili.“

5 (KJV) So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
5 (KAT) Odišiel teda a urobil podľa Pánovho pokynu.

6 (KJV) And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
6 (KAT) Krkavce mu prinášali chlieb a mäso ráno a chlieb a mäso večer a z potoka pil.

7 (KJV) And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
7 (KAT) Po istom čase potok vyschol, lebo v krajine nebolo dažďa.

8 (KJV) And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
8 (KAT) Vtedy ho Pán oslovil:

9 (KJV) Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 (KJV) So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
10 (KAT) Vstal teda a odišiel do Sarepty.

11 (KJV) And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
11 (KAT) Keď mu ona išla načrieť, zavolal za ňou: „Dones mi, prosím, so sebou aj smidku chleba!“

12 (KJV) And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
Práve zbieram zo dve triesky dreva, potom pôjdem a pripravím to sebe a svojmu synovi. Keď to zjeme, môžeme zomrieť.“

13 (KJV) And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
Sebe a svojmu synovi pripravíš potom.

14 (KJV) For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

15 (KJV) And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
15 (KAT) Išla a urobila podľa Eliášovho slova. A jedla ona, on i jej dom a od toho dňa

16 (KJV) And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.
16 (KAT) múky z hrnca neubudlo a z krčaha nechýbal olej podľa Pánovho slova, ktoré povedal prostredníctvom Eliáša.

17 (KJV) And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
17 (KAT) Po týchto udalostiach ochorel syn tej ženy, majiteľky domu, a choroba sa mu tak veľmi zhoršila, že už prestal dýchať.

18 (KJV) And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
18 (KAT) Vtedy povedala Eliášovi: „Čo ja mám s tebou, muž Boží? Prišiel si mi pripomenúť môj hriech a usmrtiť môjho syna?!“

19 (KJV) And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
19 (KAT) Eliáš jej povedal: „Daj mi svojho syna!“ Potom jej ho vzal z lona a vyniesol ho do hornej izby, v ktorej býval, uložil ho na svoje lôžko

20 (KJV) And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?
20 (KAT) a takto volal k Pánovi: „Pane, môj Bože, chceš aj ženu, u ktorej som hosťom, urobiť nešťastnou, že usmrcuješ jej syna?“

21 (KJV) And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again.

22 (KJV) And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
22 (KAT) Pán vyslyšal Eliášov hlas, chlapcova duša sa vrátila do jeho tela a ožil.

23 (KJV) And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
23 (KAT) Potom Eliáš chlapca vzal, zniesol ho z hornej izby do domu, odovzdal ho jeho matke a povedal jej: „Pozri, tvoj syn žije!“

24 (KJV) And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
Jak 5:17 - Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

Verš 9
Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
Lk 4:25 - But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

1Kr 17,6 - Podľa LXX krkavce donášali ráno chlieb a večer mäso.

Zabúda, koľko dobroty jej preukazuje Boh, a to zázračným spôsobom, prostredníctvom Eliáša, a bola by radšej, keby Eliáš nebol u nej.

1Kr 17,21 - Porov. 2 Kr 4,34; Sk 20,10.
