(CPDV - Anglický - Catholic PD)

1Kr 15, 1-34

1 (CPDV) Then, in the eighteenth year of the reign of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, Abijam reigned over Judah.
1 (ROH) Osemnásteho roku kráľa Jeroboáma, syna Nebátovho, kraľoval Abijam nad Júdom.

2 (CPDV) He reigned for three years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Maacah, the daughter of Abishalom.
2 (ROH) Kraľoval tri roky v Jeruzaleme. A meno jeho matky bolo Maacha, dcéra Abisalomova.

3 (CPDV) And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him. Neither was his heart perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David, his father.

4 (CPDV) But for the sake of David, the Lord his God gave to him a lamp in Jerusalem, so that he might raise up his son after him, and so that he might establish Jerusalem.

5 (CPDV) For David had done what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and he had not declined from all of the things that he had instructed to him, during all the days of his life, except the matter of Uriah, the Hittite.

6 (CPDV) Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam during the entire time of his life.

7 (CPDV) And the rest of the words of Abijam, and all that he did, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah? And there was fighting between Abijam and Jeroboam.
7 (ROH) A ostatné deje Abijamove a všetko, čo robil, či nie je to napísané v knihe letopisov kráľov Júdových? A bola vojna medzi Abijamom a medzi Jeroboámom.

8 (CPDV) And Abijam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David. And Asa, his son, reigned in his place.
8 (ROH) A tak ľahol Abijam a ležal so svojimi otcami, a pochovali ho v meste Dávidovom, a kraľoval Aza, jeho syn, miesto neho.

9 (CPDV) Then, in the twentieth year of Jeroboam, the king of Israel, Asa reigned as king of Judah.
9 (ROH) A v dvadsiatom roku Jeroboáma, izraelského kráľa, kraľoval Aza nad Júdom.

10 (CPDV) And he reigned for forty-one years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Maacah, the daughter of Abishalom.
10 (ROH) Kraľoval štyridsaťjeden rokov v Jeruzaleme. A meno jeho matky bolo Maacha, dcéra Abisalomova.

11 (CPDV) And Asa did what was right before the sight of the Lord, just as his father David did.

12 (CPDV) And he took away the effeminate from the land. And he purged all the filth of the idols, which his fathers had made.
12 (ROH) A odpratal zasvätených smilstvu zo zeme a odstránil všetky ukydané modly, ktorých boli narobili jeho otcovia.

13 (CPDV) Moreover, he also removed his mother, Maacah, from being the leader in the sacrifices of Priapus, and in his sacred grove which she had consecrated. And he destroyed his grotto. And he shattered the very indecent idol, and he burned it at the torrent Kidron.

14 (CPDV) But the high places, he did not take away. Yet truly, the heart of Asa was perfect with the Lord during all his days.

15 (CPDV) And he brought the things that his father had sanctified and vowed back to the house of the Lord: the silver, and the gold, and the vessels.
15 (ROH) A vniesol posvätné veci svojho otca i svoje vlastné posvätné veci do domu Hospodinovho, striebro, zlato a nádoby.

16 (CPDV) Now there was war between Asa and Baasha, the king of Israel, during all their days.
16 (ROH) A bola vojna medzi Azom a medzi Bášom, izraelským kráľom, po všetky ich dni.

17 (CPDV) And Baasha, the king of Israel, ascended against Judah. And he built up Ramah, so that no one would be able to exit or enter from the side of Asa, the king of Judah.
17 (ROH) A Báša, izraelský kráľ, odišiel hore proti Júdovi a staväl Rámu, aby nedal nikomu ani vyjsť ani vojsť k Azovi, judskému kráľovi.

18 (CPDV) And so, Asa took all the silver and the gold which had remained in the treasuries of the house of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the house of the king, and he gave it into the hands of his servants. And he sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, the king of Syria, who was living in Damascus, saying:
18 (ROH) Vtedy vzal Aza všetko striebro a zlato, ktoré bolo ešte pozostalo v pokladoch domu Hospodinovho, i poklady domu kráľovho, a dal ich do ruky svojich služobníkov, a tak ich poslal kráľ Aza k Ben-hadadovi, synovi Tabrimmonovmu, synovi Chezjonovmu, sýrskemu kráľovi, ktorý býval v Damašku, a odkázal mu:

19 (CPDV) “There is a pact between me and you, and between my father and your father. For this reason, I have sent to you gifts of silver and of gold. And I ask you to go and break your pact with Baasha, the king of Israel, so that he may withdraw from me.”
19 (ROH) Je smluva medzi mnou a medzi tebou, medzi mojím otcom a medzi tvojím otcom. Hľa, posielam ti dar, striebro a zlato. Idi, zruš svoju smluvu s Bášom, izraelským kráľom, aby odišiel hore odo mňa.

20 (CPDV) Benhadad, acquiescing to king Asa, sent the leaders of his army against the cities of Israel. And they struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel, the house of Maacah, and all of Chinneroth, that is, all the land of Naphtali.
20 (ROH) A Ben-hadad poslúchol kráľa Azu a poslal veliteľov svojich vojsk proti mestám Izraelovým a zbil Ijjon, Dán a Ábel-bétmaachu i celý Genezaret s celou zemou Naftaliho.

21 (CPDV) And when Baasha had heard this, he ceased from fortifying Ramah, and he returned to Tirzah.

22 (CPDV) Then king Asa sent an announcement to all of Judah, saying, “Let no one be excused.” And they took away the stones from Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had fortified it. And from these things, king Asa built up Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.
22 (ROH) A kráľ Aza dal vyhlásiť celému Júdovi, nikto nebol vyňatý, a pobrali kamene mesta Rámy i jeho drevo, z ktorého staväl Báša, a kráľ Aza vystavil z toho Gebu Benjaminovu a Micpu.

23 (CPDV) Now all the rest of the words of Asa, and his entire strength, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah? Yet truly, in the time of his old age, he was afflicted in his feet.

24 (CPDV) And he slept with his fathers, and he was buried with them in the city of David, his father. And Jehoshaphat, his son, reigned in his place.

25 (CPDV) Yet truly, Nadab, the son of Jeroboam, reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa, the king of Judah. And he reigned over Israel for two years.
25 (ROH) A Nádab, syn Jeroboámov, kraľoval nad Izraelom v druhom roku Azu, judského kráľa, a kraľoval nad Izraelom dva roky.

26 (CPDV) And he did what is evil in the sight of the Lord. And he walked in the ways of his father and in his sins, by which he caused Israel to sin.

27 (CPDV) Then Baasha, the son of Ahijah, from the house of Issachar, set an ambush against him, and he struck him 196 down at Gibbethon, which is a city of the Philistines. For indeed, Nadab and all of Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon.
27 (ROH) A spiknul sa proti nemu Báša, syn Achiášov, z domu Izachárovho. A Báša ho porazil v Gibbetone, ktorý patril Filištínom. Nádab totiž a celý Izrael obliehali Gibbeton;

28 (CPDV) And so Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa, the king of Judah, and he reigned in his place.
28 (ROH) a tak ho zabil Báša v treťom roku Azu, judského kráľa, a kraľoval miesto neho.

29 (CPDV) And when he had reigned, he struck down the entire house of Jeroboam. He did not leave behind even one soul from his offspring, until he had wiped him away, in accord with the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by the hand of Ahijah, the Shilonite,
29 (ROH) A stalo sa, keď začal kraľovať, že pobil celý dom Jeroboámov; nezanechal Jeroboámovi niktorej duše, dokiaľ ho len nevyhladil podľa slova Hospodinovho, ktoré hovoril skrze svojho služobníka, Achiáša Silonského,

30 (CPDV) because of the sin of Jeroboam, which he had committed, and by which he had caused Israel to sin, and because of the offense by which he had provoked the Lord, the God of Israel.
30 (ROH) pre hriechy Jeroboámove, ktorými hrešil a ktorými spôsobil to, aby hrešil Izrael, vo svojom popudzovaní, ktorým popudzoval Hospodina, Boha Izraelovho.

31 (CPDV) But the rest of the words of Nadab, and all that he did, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?
31 (ROH) A ostatné dej Nádabove a všetko to, čo robil, či nie je to napísané v knihe letopisov kráľov Izraelových?

32 (CPDV) And there was war between Asa and Baasha, the king of Israel, during all their days.
32 (ROH) A bola vojna medzi Azom a medzi Bášom, izraelským kráľom, po všetky ich dni.

33 (CPDV) In the third year of Asa, the king of Judah, Baasha, the son of Ahijah, reigned over all of Israel, at Tirzah, for twenty-four years.
33 (ROH) V treťom roku Azu, judského kráľa, kraľoval Báša, syn Achiášov, nad celým Izraelom v Tirci dvadsaťštyri rokov.

34 (CPDV) And he did evil in the sight of the Lord. And he walked in the ways of Jeroboam, and in his sins, by which he caused Israel to sin.

2Krn 15:16 - Then too, Maacah, the mother of king Asa, he deposed from the august authority, because she had made an idol of Priapus within a sacred grove. And he entirely crushed it, breaking it into pieces, and he burned it at the torrent Kidron.

1Kr 15,10 - Podľa v. 2 bola Maácha stará matka, a nie matka Asu. Pravdepodobne sa táto menuje tu miesto kráľovej matky preto, lebo si aj za panovania vnuka prisvojovala práva kráľovnej matky, hoci jej tie patrili len počas panovania jej syna Abiama.

1Kr 15,12 - O zasvätencoch pozri pozn. k 14,24.
