1 (KJV) And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.
1 (KAT) Keď kráľovná Sáby počula o Šalamúnovom chýre (v mene Pána), prišla ho skúšať hádankami.
2 (KJV) And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
2 (KAT) S veľkým sprievodom prišla do Jeruzalema. Ťavy niesli voňavky, veľké množstvo zlata a drahokamy. Prišla k Šalamúnovi a povedala mu všetko, čo mala na srdci.
3 (KJV) And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.
3 (KAT) A Šalamún jej dal odpoveď na všetky otázky; pred kráľom nebolo nič také skryté, aby jej nebol odpovedal.
4 (KJV) And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,
4 (KAT) Keď kráľovná Sáby videla všetku Šalamúnovu múdrosť a dom, ktorý postavil,
5 (KJV) And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.
5 (KAT) jedlá na jeho stole, kreslá jeho úradníkov, vysluhovanie jeho sluhov, jeho šatne, jeho nápoje a celopaly, ktoré obetoval v Pánovom dome, bola celkom bez seba
6 (KJV) And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.
6 (KAT) a povedala kráľovi: „Pravdivá bola reč, ktorú som vo svojej krajine počula o tebe a o tvojej múdrosti.
7 (KJV) Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.
7 (KAT) Neverila som rečiam, ktoré som počula, kým som neprišla a nepresvedčila som sa na vlastné oči. Veru mi nepovedali ani polovicu; tvoja múdrosť a tvoj blahobyt prevyšujú chýr, ktorý som počula.
8 (KJV) Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.
8 (KAT) Blažení sú tvoji ľudia a blažení tvoji sluhovia, ktorí ustavične stoja pred tebou a počúvajú tvoju múdrosť.
9 (KJV) Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.
9 (KAT) Nech je zvelebený Pán, tvoj Boh, ktorý má v tebe záľubu a posadil ťa na trón Izraela! Pretože Pán má Izrael vždy rád, ustanovil ťa za kráľa, aby si vysluhoval právo a spravodlivosť.“
10 (KJV) And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
10 (KAT) Potom dala kráľovi stodvadsať hrivien zlata a veľké množstvo voňaviek a drahokamov. Nikdy nedoniesli také množstvo voňaviek, aké dala kráľovná Sáby kráľovi Šalamúnovi.
11 (KJV) And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.
11 (KAT) Ale aj Hiramove lode, ktoré priviezli zlato z Ofíru, priviezli z Ofíru veľké množstvo ebenového dreva a drahokamov.
12 (KJV) And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.
12 (KAT) Z ebenového dreva dal kráľ zhotoviť náradie pre Pánov dom a pre kráľovský palác, ďalej citary a harfy pre spevákov. Toľko ebenového dreva nedošlo a nebolo vidno až podnes.
13 (KJV) And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.
13 (KAT) A kráľ Šalamún dal kráľovnej zo Sáby všetko, čo chcela a žiadala si, okrem toho, čo jej Šalamún dal z kráľovskej štedrosti. Potom sa vybrala a išla so svojím služobníctvom do svojej krajiny.
14 (KJV) Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold.
14 (KAT) Váha zlata, ktoré došlo Šalamúnovi za jeden rok, bola šesťstošesťdesiatšesť hrivien zlata,
15 (KJV) Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country.
15 (KAT) okrem dávky obchodníkov a dane priekupcov, všetkých kráľov púšte a správcov krajiny.
16 (KJV) And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target.
16 (KAT) Kráľ Šalamún dal zhotoviť dvesto štítov z rýdzeho zlata; šesťsto šeklov zlata upotrebil na jeden štít.
17 (KJV) And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
17 (KAT) Ďalej tristo pavéz z rýdzeho zlata, tri míny zlata upotrebil na jednu pavézu. A kráľ ich uložil v Libanonskom lesnom dome.
18 (KJV) Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.
18 (KAT) Potom dal kráľ urobiť veľký trón zo slonoviny a obtiahol ho čistým zlatom.
19 (KJV) The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays.
19 (KAT) Trón mal šesť stupňov, vzadu mal trón okrúhle záhlavie, pri sedadle z oboch strán boli operadlá a pri operadlách stáli dva levy.
20 (KJV) And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.
20 (KAT) Dvanásť levov však stálo na šiestich stupňoch z jednej i druhej strany. Taký nezhotovili pre nijaké kráľovstvo.
21 (KJV) And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
21 (KAT) Každá nádoba na pitie u kráľa Šalamúna bola zo zlata a všetky nádoby Libanonského lesného domu boli z rýdzeho zlata. Striebra nebolo, toho si v Šalamúnových časoch vôbec nevážili.
22 (KJV) For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
22 (KAT) Lebo kráľ mal na mori popri Hiramových lodiach aj lode taršišské. Raz za tri roky išli taršišské lode a doviezli zlato, striebro, slonovinu, opice a pávy.
23 (KJV) So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.
23 (KAT) Kráľ Šalamún bol teda väčší ako všetci králi zeme i múdrosťou, i bohatstvom.
24 (KJV) And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
24 (KAT) Celý svet si žiadal vidieť Šalamúnovu tvár, aby počul jeho múdrosť, ktorú mu Boh vložil do srdca.
25 (KJV) And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
25 (KAT) Pritom každý doniesol rok po rok svoj dar: strieborné a zlaté nádoby, šatstvo, zbrane, voňavky, kone a mulice.
26 (KJV) And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.
26 (KAT) Šalamún si nazhromaždil aj vozy a jazdcov: mal tisícštyristo vozov a dvanásťtisíc jazdcov. Umiestil ich po vozatajských mestách a v okolí kráľa v Jeruzaleme.
27 (KJV) And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale, for abundance.
27 (KAT) A kráľ nahromadil do Jeruzalema toľko striebra ako skál a dodal toľko cédrov, akoby to boli sykomory z Nížiny.
28 (KJV) And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
28 (KAT) Kone obstarávali Šalamúnovi z Egypta a z Koy. Kráľovskí kupci ich privádzali z Koy za kúpnu cenu.
29 (KJV) And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
29 (KAT) Voz prišiel z Koy za šesťsto strieborných a kôň za stopäťdesiat. Podobne ich prostredníctvom nich predávali aj všetkým kráľom Hetejcov a Aramejčanov.

And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

Mt 12:42 - The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.
2Krn 9:11 - And the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the LORD, and to the king's palace, and harps and psalteries for singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.
Verš 16
And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target.
1Kr 14:26 - And he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
Verš 17
And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
1Kr 7:2 - He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.

So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.
1Kr 3:12 - Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
Verš 26
And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.
1Kr 4:26 - And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
2Krn 1:14 - And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
2Krn 9:25 - And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale, for abundance.
2Krn 1:15 - And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.
2Krn 9:27 - And the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the low plains in abundance.

And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

1Kr 10,1 - Podľa asýrskej správy v severoarabskej krajine Aribi panovali naozaj ženy. V časoch Šalamúnových bývali ešte aj Sabejci v severnej Arábii, možno, že práve v tejto krajine. Až 300 rokov po Šalamúnovi si založili Sabejci ríšu v Južnej Arábii. - Osoba kráľovnej zo Sáby je opradená množstvom poviedok. Jozef Flávius ju volá Nikaule, arabské rozprávky ju spomínajú pod menom Bilkis. - V tamojších krajoch si hádankami skúšali ostrovtip.
1Kr 10,11 - Nevieme iste, o akom dreve je tu reč. Že bolo ebenové, je len dohad niektorých učencov.
1Kr 10,15 - Osnova nie je celkom istá. Králi púšte boli náčelníci beduínskych kočovných kmeňov.
1Kr 10,22 - Taršiš bola fenická kolónia v dnešnom Španielsku, pri ústí rieky Guadalquivir. Taršišské lode boli nielen tie, ktoré sa skutočne plavili do Taršišu, ale všetky, ktoré boli na to súce; teda lode veľké a mocné.
1Kr 10,26 - Porov. 5,6; 9,19.
1Kr 10,27 - "Nížina" (Šefelá) je územie medzi Júdskym pohorím a Stredozemným morom. Sykomôr je tam i dnes veľa. Je to istý druh figovníka (Ficus sycomorus).
1Kr 10,28 - Koa je Cilícia. Tak sa zdá, že druhá, tu spomínaná krajina nie je Egypt, hoci má s Egyptom veľmi podobné meno, ale akási krajina v Malej Ázii v blízkosti Koy; asýrske pamiatky ju volajú Musri a spomínajú ju tiež spolu s krajinou Koa.
