1 (KAT) Potom Dávid porazil Filištíncov a podrobil si ich. Dávid vyrval Filištíncom z ruky moc nad daňami.
1 (VUL) Factum est autem post haec, percussit David Philisthim et humiliavit eos; et tulit David Geth et urbes eius de manu Philisthim.
1 (UKJV) And after this it came to pass that David stroke the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 (KAT) Porazil Moabčanov, dal im ľahnúť na zem a odmeral ich povrázkom. Dva povrázky odmeral na zabitie a jeden plný povrázok ponechal nažive. Tak sa Moabčania stali Dávidovými poddanými, platili poplatky.
2 (VUL) Et percussit Moab et mensus est eos funiculo sternens eos in terra; mensus est autem duos funiculos ad occidendum et unum funiculum plenum ad vivificandum; factusque est Moab David serviens sub tributo.
2 (UKJV) "And he stroke Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts. "

3 (KAT) Potom Dávid porazil Rohobovho syna Adadezera, kráľa Soby, keď opätovne vyrazil zmocniť sa rieky Eufrat.
3 (VUL) Et percussit David Adadezer filium Rohob regem Soba, quando profectus est, ut dominaretur super flumen Euphraten.
3 (UKJV) David stroke also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

4 (KAT) Dávid mu zajal tisícsedemsto jazdcov a dvadsaťtisíc mužov pechoty. Dávid ochromil všetky záprahy a nechal z nich iba sto záprahov.
4 (VUL) Et captis David ex parte eius mille septingentis equitibus et viginti milibus peditum, subnervavit omnes iugales curruum; dereliquit autem ex eis centum currus.
4 (UKJV) And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David cut the hamstrings of all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.

5 (KAT) Keď Aramejčania prišli z Damasku na pomoc Adadezerovi, kráľovi Soby, Dávid Aramejčanov porazil, dvadsaťdvatisíc mužov.
5 (VUL) Venit quoque Syria Damasci, ut praesidium ferret Adadezer regi Soba, et percussit David de Syria viginti duo milia virorum;
5 (UKJV) And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

6 (KAT) Nato Dávid ustanovil v damascénskom Aramejsku dozorcov a Aramejčania sa stali Dávidovými poddanými a platili poplatky. Tak Pán pomáhal Dávidovi všade, kde len išiel.
6 (VUL) et posuit David praesidium in Syria Damasci; factaque est Syria David serviens sub tributo. Et auxiliatus est Dominus David in omnibus, ad quaecumque profectus est.
6 (UKJV) Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David anywhere he went.

7 (KAT) Dávid vzal zlaté štíty, ktoré mali Adadezerovi sluhovia, a zaniesol ich do Jeruzalema.
7 (VUL) Et tulit David arma aurea, quae habebant servi Adadezer, et detulit ea in Ierusalem;
7 (UKJV) And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 (KAT) Z Adadezerových miest Bety a Berotu vzal kráľ Dávid veľmi veľa kovu.
8 (VUL) et de Tebah et de Berothai civitatibus Adadezer tulit rex David aes multum nimis.
8 (UKJV) And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.

9 (KAT) Keď sa kráľ Ematu Tou dopočul, že Dávid porazil celú Adadezerovu armádu,
9 (VUL) Audivit autem Thou rex Emath quod percussisset David omne robur Adadezer
9 (UKJV) When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,

10 (KAT) poslal Tou svojho syna Jorama ku kráľovi Dávidovi pozdraviť ho a blahoželať mu, že bojoval proti Adadezerovi a že ho premohol. Lebo Adadezer bol nepriateľ Touho. Niesol so sebou strieborné, zlaté a kovové nádoby.
10 (VUL) et misit Thou Adoram filium suum ad regem David, ut salutaret eum congratulans et gratias ageret eo quod pugnasset cum Adadezer et percussisset eum; hostis quippe erat Thou Adadezer. Attulit autem Adoram et vasa argentea et vasa aurea et vasa aerea,
10 (UKJV) Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:

11 (KAT) Aj tie kráľ Dávid zasvätil Pánovi spolu so striebrom a zlatom, ktoré zasvätil od národov, ktoré porazil:
11 (VUL) quae et ipsa sanctificavit rex David Domino cum argento et auro, quae sanctificaverat de universis gentibus, quas subegerat:
11 (UKJV) "Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued; "

12 (KAT) od Aramu, od Moabu, od Amončanov, od Filištíncov, od Amalekitov a z koristi Rohobovho syna Adadezera, kráľa Soby.
12 (VUL) de Syria et Moab et filiis Ammon et Philisthim et Amalec et de manibus Adadezer filii Rohob regis Soba.
12 (UKJV) Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

13 (KAT) Dávid si získal meno. Keď sa vracal po porážke Aramejčanov, porazil v Soľnom údolí osemnásťtisíc Edomčanov.
13 (VUL) Fecit quoque sibi David nomen cum reverteretur, percussa Idumaea in valle Salis, caesis decem et octo milibus.
13 (UKJV) And David got him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.

14 (KAT) V Edomsku ustanovil dozorcov (v celom Edomsku ustanovil dozorcov) a celé Edomsko sa stalo Dávidovi poddaným. Tak Pán pomáhal Dávidovi všade, kde len išiel.
14 (VUL) Et posuit in Idumaea praesidia; et facta est universa Idumaea serviens David. Et auxiliatus est Dominus David in omnibus, ad quaecumque profectus est.
14 (UKJV) "And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David anywhere he went. "

15 (KAT) Dávid kraľoval nad celým Izraelom a Dávid vysluhoval právo a spravodlivosť všetkému svojmu ľudu.
15 (VUL) Et regnavit David super omnem Israel; faciebat quoque David iudicium et iustitiam omni populo suo.
15 (UKJV) "And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people. "

16 (KAT) Joab, syn Sarvie, bol veliteľom vojska, Ahiludov syn Jozafat bol kancelárom.
16 (VUL) Ioab autem filius Sarviae erat super exercitum; porro Iosaphat filius Ahilud erat a commentariis,
16 (UKJV) "And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; "

17 (KAT) Achitobov syn Sadok a Achimelechov syn Abiatar boli kňazmi a Saraiáš bol pisárom.
17 (VUL) et Sadoc filius Achitob et Abiathar filius Achimelech sacerdotes, et Saraias scriba.
17 (UKJV) "And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe; "

18 (KAT) Jojadov syn Banaiáš velil Kereťanom a Feleťanom a Dávidovi synovia boli kňazmi.
18 (VUL) Banaias autem filius Ioiadae super Cherethi et Phelethi; filii autem David sacerdotes erant.
18 (UKJV) "And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers. "
