2. kniha Samuelova

1 (KJV) Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
1 (B21) Toto jsou Davidova poslední slova: Tak praví David, syn Jišajův, tak praví povýšený Nejvyšším, jehož pomazal Bůh Jákobův, líbezný pěvec izraelský.

2 (KJV) The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
2 (B21) Promlouvá ze mě Hospodinův duch, jeho slovo ve svých ústech mám.

3 (KJV) The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
3 (B21) Toto mi řekl izraelský Bůh, On, skála Izraele, praví sám: Kdo lidem spravedlivě vládne, kdo v Boží bázni panuje,

4 (KJV) And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
4 (B21) je jako úsvit za východu slunce, jak jasné jitro bezmračné; je jako po dešti vyjasnění, když tráva raší ze země.

5 (KJV) Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
5 (B21) Kdyby můj dům před Bohem tak nestál, což by mi věčnou smlouvu dal, cele platnou a stvrzenou? Všechnu tu spásu, všechno to blaho by rozkvést nenechal!

6 (KJV) But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
6 (B21) Darebák jak trní vyvržen bude, rukou se takového nikdo nedotkne,

7 (KJV) But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.
7 (B21) železo a tyč se na něj bere, oheň ho spálí tam, kde je!

8 (KJV) These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
8 (B21) Zde jsou jména Davidových hrdinů: Jošeb-bašebet Tachkemonský, velitel Trojice. Uměl to s kopím tak, že jich jednou pobil na osm set.

9 (KJV) And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
9 (B21) Další z té trojice hrdinů byl Eleazar, syn Doda, syna Achochiova. Ten byl s Davidem, když se odvážili na Filištíny. Ti se shromáždili k boji, a tak vytáhli také Izraelci;

10 (KJV) He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
10 (B21) tehdy vstal a pobíjel Filištíny, až mu ruka ztuhla, že nemohl pustit meč. Lid jen postupoval za ním a obíral pobité. Hospodin toho dne způsobil veliké vítězství.

11 (KJV) And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
11 (B21) Po něm byl Šama, syn Agea Hararského. Filištíni se jednou shromáždili u dílu pole osetého čočkou a lid se před nimi dal na útěk.

12 (KJV) But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.
12 (B21) Šama se ale postavil doprostřed toho pole, uhájil je a Filištíny odrazil. Hospodin tehdy způsobil veliké vítězství.

13 (KJV) And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
13 (B21) Tito tři z třicítky velitelů sestoupili o žních k Davidovi do jeskyně Adulam, když v údolí Refaim tábořil oddíl Filištínů.

14 (KJV) And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
14 (B21) David byl tehdy ve skalní pevnosti. Betlém byl obsazen Filištíny.

15 (KJV) And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
15 (B21) David tenkrát zatoužil: "Kéž bych se mohl napít vody z té betlémské studny u brány."

16 (KJV) And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
16 (B21) A tak se ta trojice hrdinů probila do filištínského tábora a navážila vodu z betlémské studny u brány. Vzali ji a donesli Davidovi. Ten se jí ale odmítl napít, ale vylil ji jako oběť Hospodinu.

17 (KJV) And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
17 (B21) "Hospodin chraň," zvolal, "vždyť je to krev těch mužů! Šli tam s nasazením života!" A nechtěl se napít. Takové činy konala tato trojice hrdinů.

18 (KJV) And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
18 (B21) Velitelem Třicítky byl Joábův bratr Abišaj, syn Ceruji. Oháněl se kopím tak, že jich pobil na tři sta, a tak se stal stejně známým jako ona Trojice.

19 (KJV) Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.
19 (B21) Vskutku, mezi Třicítkou byl slavný a byl jejich velitelem, ale Trojici se nevyrovnal.

20 (KJV) And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
20 (B21) Také Benajáš, syn Jojadův z Kabceelu, byl udatný bojovník mocných činů. To on zabil ty dva Moábce, kteří se bili jako lvi. A jednou slezl do jámy a zabil v ní lva, tenkrát, když napadl sníh.

21 (KJV) And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
21 (B21) Jindy šel a zabil Egypťana jen s holí v ruce. Egypťan vypadal hrozivě, byl ozbrojen kopím. On mu je ale vytrhl z ruky a zabil ho jím.

22 (KJV) These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.
22 (B21) Takové činy konal Benajáš, syn Jojadův, a tak se stal stejně známým jako Trojice.

23 (KJV) He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
23 (B21) Mezi Třicítkou byl slavný, ale Trojici se nevyrovnal. David mu svěřil svou tělesnou stráž.

24 (KJV) Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
24 (B21) Ke Třicítce patřili: Asael, bratr Joábův, Elchanan, syn Doda Betlémského;

25 (KJV) Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
25 (B21) Šama Charodský; Elika Charodský;

26 (KJV) Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
26 (B21) Chelec Paltiský; Ira, syn Ikeše Tekojského;

27 (KJV) Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
27 (B21) Abiezer Anatotský; Sibechaj Chušatský;

28 (KJV) Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
28 (B21) Calmon Achochijský; Mahraj Netofský;

29 (KJV) Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
29 (B21) Cheled, syn Baany Netofského; Itaj, syn Ribaje z benjamínské Gibeje;

30 (KJV) Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
30 (B21) Benajáš Piratonský; Hidaj od potoka Gaaš;

31 (KJV) Abi-albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
31 (B21) Abi-albon Arbatský; Azmavet Bachurimský;

32 (KJV) Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
32 (B21) Eliachba Šaalbonský; Jašenovi synové Jonatan,

33 (KJV) Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,
33 (B21) syn Šamy Hararského, Achiam, syn Šarara Hararského;

34 (KJV) Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
34 (B21) Elifelet, syn Achasbaje z Maaky; Eliam, syn Achitofela Gilonského;

35 (KJV) Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
35 (B21) Checro Karmelský; Paaraj Arbejský;

36 (KJV) Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
36 (B21) Jigal, syn Nátanův z Cóby; syn Hagriho;

37 (KJV) Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,
37 (B21) Selek Amonský; Nachraj Beerotský, zbrojnoš Joába, syna Ceruji;

38 (KJV) Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,
38 (B21) Ira Jitrejský; Gareb Jitrejský;

39 (KJV) Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
39 (B21) a Uriáš Chetejský. Všech celkem bylo třicet sedm.
