1 (HEM) ויהי אחרי כן וישאל דוד ביהוה לאמר האעלה באחת ערי יהודה ויאמר יהוה אליו עלה ויאמר דוד אנה אעלה ויאמר חברנה׃
1 (KAT) Po tomto sa Dávid pýtal Pána: „Mám vtiahnuť do niektorého z júdskych miest?“ Pán mu odpovedal: „Vtiahni!“ Dávid sa pýtal: „Kam mám vtiahnuť?“ Odpovedal: „Do Hebronu.“
1 (UKJV) And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Where shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.

2 (HEM) ויעל שם דוד וגם שתי נשיו אחינעם היזרעלית ואביגיל אשת נבל הכרמלי׃
2 (KAT) Dávid teda vtiahol ta, podobne aj jeho dve ženy, Jezraelitka Achinoam a manželka karmelského Nábala Abigail.
2 (UKJV) So David went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal's wife the Carmelite.

3 (HEM) ואנשיו אשר עמו העלה דוד איש וביתו וישבו בערי חברון׃
3 (KAT) Aj mužov, ktorí boli s ním, vyviedol Dávid, každého s jeho rodinou, a usadili sa v mestách Hebronu.
3 (UKJV) And his men that were with him did David bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron.

4 (HEM) ויבאו אנשי יהודה וימשחו שם את דוד למלך על בית יהודה ויגדו לדוד לאמר אנשי יביש גלעד אשר קברו את שאול׃
4 (KAT) Vtedy prišli mužovia Júdska a pomazali tam Dávida za kráľa nad domom Júdu. Keď Dávidovi oznámili, že obyvatelia Galaádskeho Jábesu pochovali Šaula,
4 (UKJV) And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabeshgilead were they that buried Saul.

5 (HEM) וישלח דוד מלאכים אל אנשי יביש גלעד ויאמר אליהם ברכים אתם ליהוה אשר עשיתם החסד הזה עם אדניכם עם שאול ותקברו אתו׃
5 (KAT) poslal Dávid poslov k obyvateľom Galaádskeho Jábesu s odkazom: „Nech vás požehná Pán za to, že ste svojmu pánovi, Šaulovi, preukázali túto milosť a pochovali ste ho!
5 (UKJV) And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabeshgilead, and said unto them, Blessed be all of you of the LORD, that all of you have showed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him.

6 (HEM) ועתה יעש יהוה עמכם חסד ואמת וגם אנכי אעשה אתכם הטובה הזאת אשר עשיתם הדבר הזה׃
6 (KAT) Preto nech teraz Pán preukáže milosť a vernosť vám! Ale aj ja vám chcem preukázať dobro, pretože ste urobili túto vec.
6 (UKJV) And now the LORD show kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because all of you have done this thing.

7 (HEM) ועתה תחזקנה ידיכם והיו לבני חיל כי מת אדניכם שאול וגם אתי משחו בית יהודה למלך עליהם׃
7 (KAT) Nuž majte teraz pevné ruky a buďte udatní! Veď váš pán, Šaul, zomrel a dom Júdu mňa pomazal za kráľa nad sebou.“
7 (UKJV) Therefore now let your hands be strengthened, and be all of you valiant: for your master Saul is dead, and also the house of Judah have anointed me king over them.

8 (HEM) ואבנר בן נר שר צבא אשר לשאול לקח את איש בשת בן שאול ויעברהו מחנים׃
8 (KAT) Ale Nérov syn Abner, Šaulov vojvodca, vzal Šaulovho syna Isboseta, zaviedol ho do Mahanaimu
8 (UKJV) "But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul's host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim; "

9 (HEM) וימלכהו אל הגלעד ואל האשורי ואל יזרעאל ועל אפרים ועל בנימן ועל ישראל כלה׃
9 (KAT) a ustanovil ho za kráľa nad Galaádom, nad Aserom, nad Jezraelom, nad Efraimom, nad Benjamínom a nad celým Izraelom.
9 (UKJV) And made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.

10 (HEM) בן ארבעים שנה איש בשת בן שאול במלכו על ישראל ושתים שנים מלך אך בית יהודה היו אחרי דוד׃
10 (KAT) Šaulov syn Isboset bol štyridsaťročný, keď začal kraľovať nad Izraelom, a kraľoval dva roky. Ale dom Júdu bol za Dávidom.
10 (UKJV) Ishbosheth Saul's son was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.

11 (HEM) ויהי מספר הימים אשר היה דוד מלך בחברון על בית יהודה שבע שנים וששה חדשים׃
11 (KAT) Počet dní, v ktorých bol Dávid kráľom v Hebrone nad domom Júdu, bol sedem rokov a šesť mesiacov.
11 (UKJV) And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.

12 (HEM) ויצא אבנר בן נר ועבדי איש בשת בן שאול ממחנים גבעונה׃
12 (KAT) Nérov syn Abner a sluhovia Šaulovho syna Isboseta vyrazili z Mahanaimu do Gabaonu.
12 (UKJV) And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.

13 (HEM) ויואב בן צרויה ועבדי דוד יצאו ויפגשום על ברכת גבעון יחדו וישבו אלה על הברכה מזה ואלה על הברכה מזה׃
13 (KAT) Ale Joab, syn Sarvie, a Dávidovi služobníci vyrazili a stretli ich pri gabaonskom rybníku. Jedni sa usadili z jednej, druhí z druhej strany rybníka.
13 (UKJV) And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.

14 (HEM) ויאמר אבנר אל יואב יקומו נא הנערים וישחקו לפנינו ויאמר יואב יקמו׃
14 (KAT) Vtedy povedal Abner Joabovi: „Nech vstanú mládenci a nech sa hrajú pred nami.“ Joab odpovedal: „Nech vstanú!“
14 (UKJV) And Abner said to Joab, Let the young men now arise, and play before us. And Joab said, Let them arise.

15 (HEM) ויקמו ויעברו במספר שנים עשר לבנימן ולאיש בשת בן שאול ושנים עשר מעבדי דוד׃
15 (KAT) Vstali teda a boli odpočítaní dvanásti z Benjamína, od Šaulovho syna Isboseta, a dvanásti z Dávidových sluhov.
15 (UKJV) Then there arose and went over by number twelve of Benjamin, which pertained to Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David.

16 (HEM) ויחזקו איש בראש רעהו וחרבו בצד רעהו ויפלו יחדו ויקרא למקום ההוא חלקת הצרים אשר בגבעון׃
16 (KAT) Každý chopil svojho protivníka za hlavu a vrazil svoj meč do boku svojho protivníka. Tak padli všetci. Preto sa to miesto volá: ‚Pole silákov v Gabaone‘.
16 (UKJV) "And they caught every one his fellow by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow's side; so they fell down together: wherefore that place was called Helkathhazzurim, which is in Gibeon. "

17 (HEM) ותהי המלחמה קשה עד מאד ביום ההוא וינגף אבנר ואנשי ישראל לפני עבדי דוד׃
17 (KAT) Tak sa strhla v ten deň veľmi zúrivá bitka a Abner a mužovia Izraela utrpeli porážku od Dávidových sluhov.
17 (UKJV) "And there was a very sore battle that day; and Abner was beaten, and the men of Israel, before the servants of David. "

18 (HEM) ויהיו שם שלשה בני צרויה יואב ואבישי ועשהאל ועשהאל קל ברגליו כאחד הצבים אשר בשדה׃
18 (KAT) Boli tam traja synovia Sarvie: Joab, Abisai a Asael. Asael bol rýchlonohý ako poľná gazela.
18 (UKJV) And there were three sons of Zeruiah there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.

19 (HEM) וירדף עשהאל אחרי אבנר ולא נטה ללכת על הימין ועל השמאול מאחרי אבנר׃
19 (KAT) Asael prenasledoval Abnera a pri prenasledovaní Abnera neodbočil ani napravo, ani naľavo.
19 (UKJV) "And Asahel pursued after Abner; and in going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner. "

20 (HEM) ויפן אבנר אחריו ויאמר האתה זה עשהאל ויאמר אנכי׃
20 (KAT) Vtom sa Abner obrátil nazad a spýtal sa: „Si to ty, Asael?“ Odpovedal: „Ja.“
20 (UKJV) Then Abner looked behind him, and said, Are you Asahel? And he answered, I am.

21 (HEM) ויאמר לו אבנר נטה לך על ימינך או על שמאלך ואחז לך אחד מהנערים וקח לך את חלצתו ולא אבה עשהאל לסור מאחריו׃
21 (KAT) Abner mu povedal: „Uchýľ sa napravo alebo naľavo, uchop niektorého z mládencov a vezmi si jeho korisť!“ Ale Asael nechcel odstúpiť spoza neho.
21 (UKJV) And Abner said to him, Turn you aside to your right hand or to your left, and lay you hold on one of the young men, and take you his armour. But Asahel would not turn aside from following of him.

22 (HEM) ויסף עוד אבנר לאמר אל עשהאל סור לך מאחרי למה אככה ארצה ואיך אשא פני אל יואב אחיך׃
22 (KAT) Abner znovu hovoril Asaelovi: „Odstúp spoza mňa, prečo by som ťa mal pribodnúť k zemi? Akože si potom zdvihnem tvár k tvojmu bratovi Joabovi?“
22 (UKJV) And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn you aside from following me: wherefore should I strike you to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab your brother?

23 (HEM) וימאן לסור ויכהו אבנר באחרי החנית אל החמש ותצא החנית מאחריו ויפל שם וימת תחתו ויהי כל הבא אל המקום אשר נפל שם עשהאל וימת ויעמדו׃
23 (KAT) Ale zdráhal sa odstúpiť. Vtedy ho bodol druhým koncom kopije do brucha, takže mu kopija vyrazila von chrbtom. Padol tam a na mieste zomrel. A všetci, ktorí prišli na miesto, kde padol a zomrel Asael, ostali stáť.
23 (UKJV) "Nevertheless he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with the hinder end of the spear stroke him under the fifth rib, that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still. "

24 (HEM) וירדפו יואב ואבישי אחרי אבנר והשמש באה והמה באו עד גבעת אמה אשר על פני גיח דרך מדבר גבעון׃

24 (UKJV) Joab also and Abishai pursued after Abner: and the sun went down when they were come to the hill of Ammah, that lies before Giah by the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.

25 (HEM) ויתקבצו בני בנימן אחרי אבנר ויהיו לאגדה אחת ויעמדו על ראש גבעה אחת׃
25 (KAT) Vtedy sa Benjamínci zhromaždili okolo Abnera, zomkli sa v jediný oddiel a postavili sa na hrebeň ktoréhosi kopca.
25 (UKJV) And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and became one troop, and stood on the top of an hill.

26 (HEM) ויקרא אבנר אל יואב ויאמר הלנצח תאכל חרב הלוא ידעתה כי מרה תהיה באחרונה ועד מתי לא תאמר לעם לשוב מאחרי אחיהם׃
26 (KAT) Tu Abner zavolal na Joaba: „Či má meč žrať až do konca? Alebo nevieš, že na konci príde trpkosť? Dokedy sa budeš zdráhať prikázať ľudu, aby neprenasledoval svojich bratov?“
26 (UKJV) Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? know you not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, before you bid the people return from following their brethren?

27 (HEM) ויאמר יואב חי האלהים כי לולא דברת כי אז מהבקר נעלה העם איש מאחרי אחיו׃
27 (KAT) Joab odpovedal: „Ako žije Pán, keby si nebol hovoril, až ráno by bol ľud prestal prenasledovať svojich bratov.“
27 (UKJV) And Joab said, As God lives, unless you had spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.

28 (HEM) ויתקע יואב בשופר ויעמדו כל העם ולא ירדפו עוד אחרי ישראל ולא יספו עוד להלחם׃
28 (KAT) Nato Joab zatrúbil na trúbu a všetok ľud sa zastavil a neprenasledovali Izraelitov, ani ďalej nebojovali.
28 (UKJV) So Joab blew a trumpet, and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more.

29 (HEM) ואבנר ואנשיו הלכו בערבה כל הלילה ההוא ויעברו את הירדן וילכו כל הבתרון ויבאו מחנים׃
29 (KAT) Abner však a jeho mužovia tiahli celú tú noc púšťou, prešli cez Jordán, prešli cez celý Bitron a prišli do Mahanaimu.
29 (UKJV) And Abner and his men walked all that night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to Mahanaim.

30 (HEM) ויואב שב מאחרי אבנר ויקבץ את כל העם ויפקדו מעבדי דוד תשעה עשר איש ועשהאל׃
30 (KAT) Keď sa Joab vrátil po prenasledovaní Abnera, zhromaždil celé mužstvo, pričom z Dávidových služobníkov chýbalo devätnásť mužov a Asael.
30 (UKJV) And Joab returned from following Abner: and when he had gathered all the people together, there lacked of David's servants nineteen men and Asahel.

31 (HEM) ועבדי דוד הכו מבנימן ובאנשי אבנר שלש מאות וששים איש מתו׃
31 (KAT) Dávidovi služobníci však zrazili z Benjamíncov, z Abnerových mužov tristošesťdesiat chlapov, ktorí zomreli.
31 (UKJV) But the servants of David had smitten of Benjamin, and of Abner's men, so that three hundred and threescore men died.

32 (HEM) וישאו את עשהאל ויקברהו בקבר אביו אשר בית לחם וילכו כל הלילה יואב ואנשיו ויאר להם בחברון׃
32 (KAT) Asaela vzali a pochovali ho v otcovom hrobe, ktorý je v Betleheme. A Joab i jeho mužovia pochodovali celú noc; rozodnilo sa nad nimi v Hebrone.
32 (UKJV) And they took up Asahel, and buried him in the tomb of his father, which was in Bethlehem. And Joab and his men went all night, and they came to Hebron at break of day.
