1 (HEM) ויאמר אחיתפל אל אבשלם אבחרה נא שנים עשר אלף איש ואקומה וארדפה אחרי דוד הלילה׃
1 (KAT) Vtedy Achitofel povedal Absolónovi: „Vyberiem si dvanásťtisíc mužov a zoberiem sa (ešte) tejto noci prenasledovať Dávida.
1 (UKJV) Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:

2 (HEM) ואבוא עליו והוא יגע ורפה ידים והחרדתי אתו ונס כל העם אשר אתו והכיתי את המלך לבדו׃
2 (KAT) Napadnem ho - veď je ustatý a skleslý - a podesím ho, takže sa všetok ľud, ktorý je s ním, rozuteká. Potom osamelého kráľa zabijem
2 (UKJV) "And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will strike the king only: "

3 (KAT) a privediem späť k tebe celé mužstvo, ako sa vracia jediný muž. Veď ty hľadáš jedného človeka, potom bude celý ľud v pokoji.“
3 (UKJV) And I will bring back all the people unto you: the man whom you seek is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.

4 (HEM) ויישר הדבר בעיני אבשלם ובעיני כל זקני ישראל׃
4 (KAT) Absolónovi sa reč páčila, aj všetkým starším Izraela.
4 (UKJV) And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.

5 (HEM) ויאמר אבשלום קרא נא גם לחושי הארכי ונשמעה מה בפיו גם הוא׃
5 (KAT) Absolón však povedal: „Zavolajte aj Arachitu Chusaiho, chceme počuť aj to, čo má on na ústach.“
5 (UKJV) Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he says.

6 (HEM) ויבא חושי אל אבשלום ויאמר אבשלום אליו לאמר כדבר הזה דבר אחיתפל הנעשה את דברו אם אין אתה דבר׃
6 (KAT) Chusai prišiel k Absolónovi a Absolón mu povedal: „Takto hovorí Achitofel. Máme previesť jeho návrh? Ak nie, hovor ty!“
6 (UKJV) "And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spoke unto him, saying, Ahithophel has spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak you. "

7 (HEM) ויאמר חושי אל אבשלום לא טובה העצה אשר יעץ אחיתפל בפעם הזאת׃
7 (KAT) A Chusai povedal Absolónovi: „Nie je dobrá rada, ktorú dal Achitofel v tomto prípade.“
7 (UKJV) And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel has given is not good at this time.

8 (HEM) ויאמר חושי אתה ידעת את אביך ואת אנשיו כי גברים המה ומרי נפש המה כדב שכול בשדה ואביך איש מלחמה ולא ילין את העם׃
8 (KAT) A Chusai hovoril (ďalej): „Ty vieš, že tvoj otec a jeho ľudia sú hrdinovia a že majú rozhorčenú dušu ako mláďat zbavená medvedica na poli. Veď tvoj otec je bojovník, ktorý nenechá svojich ľudí spať!

9 (HEM) הנה עתה הוא נחבא באחת הפחתים או באחד המקומת והיה כנפל בהם בתחלה ושמע השמע ואמר היתה מגפה בעם אשר אחרי אבשלם׃
9 (KAT) Isto sa teraz schoval v niektorej trhline alebo na nejakom (inom) mieste a ak hneď na začiatku niekto padne, ten, kto o tom počuje, bude hovoriť: »Ľud, ktorý ide za Absolónom, utrpel veľkú porážku.«
9 (UKJV) Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrown at the first, that whosoever hears it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.

10 (HEM) והוא גם בן חיל אשר לבו כלב האריה המס ימס כי ידע כל ישראל כי גבור אביך ובני חיל אשר אתו׃
10 (KAT) Vtedy by iste ochabol aj taký, kto je zmužilý, ktorého srdce je ako srdce leva. Veď celý Izrael vie, že tvoj otec je hrdina a že tí, čo sú s ním, sú smelí ľudia.
10 (UKJV) And he also that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men.

11 (HEM) כי יעצתי האסף יאסף עליך כל ישראל מדן ועד באר שבע כחול אשר על הים לרב ופניך הלכים בקרב׃
11 (KAT) Radím teda: Nech sa k tebe zhromaždí celý Izrael od Danu až po Bersabe ako piesok pri mori a ty budeš tiahnuť v ich strede.
11 (UKJV) "Therefore I counsel that all Israel be generally gathered unto you, from Dan even to Beersheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that you go to battle in your own person. "

12 (HEM) ובאנו אליו באחת המקומת אשר נמצא שם ונחנו עליו כאשר יפל הטל על האדמה ולא נותר בו ובכל האנשים אשר אתו גם אחד׃

13 (UKJV) Moreover, if he be got into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.

14 (HEM) ויאמר אבשלום וכל איש ישראל טובה עצת חושי הארכי מעצת אחיתפל ויהוה צוה להפר את עצת אחיתפל הטובה לבעבור הביא יהוה אל אבשלום את הרעה׃
14 (KAT) Vtedy Absolón a všetci izraelskí mužovia hovorili: „Rada Arachitu Chusaiho je lepšia ako Achitofelova rada.“ Pán totiž prikázal znemožniť dobrú Achitofelovu radu, lebo Pán chcel Absolóna vrhnúť do nešťastia.
14 (UKJV) And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.

15 (HEM) ויאמר חושי אל צדוק ואל אביתר הכהנים כזאת וכזאת יעץ אחיתפל את אבשלם ואת זקני ישראל וכזאת וכזאת יעצתי אני׃
15 (KAT) Nato Chusai povedal kňazovi Sadokovi a Abiatarovi: „Takto a takto radil Achitofel Absolónovi a starším Izraela, toto a toto som radil ja.
15 (UKJV) "Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled. "

21 (HEM) ויהי אחרי לכתם ויעלו מהבאר וילכו ויגדו למלך דוד ויאמרו אל דוד קומו ועברו מהרה את המים כי ככה יעץ עליכם אחיתפל׃
21 (KAT) Keď (tí) odišli, vyliezli zo studne, išli a podali kráľovi Dávidovi správu. Povedali Dávidovi: „Vstaňte a prejdite rýchlo cez vodu, lebo takto radil proti vám Achitofel!“
21 (UKJV) And it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus has Ahithophel counselled against you.

22 (HEM) ויקם דוד וכל העם אשר אתו ויעברו את הירדן עד אור הבקר עד אחד לא נעדר אשר לא עבר את הירדן׃
22 (KAT) Nato Dávid a všetok ľud, ktorý bol s ním, vstal a prešiel cez Jordán. Kým sa ráno rozvidnilo, nechýbal ani jeden, ktorý by nebol prešiel cez Jordán.
22 (UKJV) Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that was not gone over Jordan.

23 (HEM) ואחיתפל ראה כי לא נעשתה עצתו ויחבש את החמור ויקם וילך אל ביתו אל עירו ויצו אל ביתו ויחנק וימת ויקבר בקבר אביו׃
23 (KAT) Keď Achitofel videl, že nekonajú podľa jeho rady, osedlal osla, zobral sa a šiel domov do svojho mesta, porobil v dome poriadky a obesil sa. Tak zomrel a pochovali ho v otcovskom hrobe.
23 (UKJV) And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and got him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the tomb of his father.

24 (HEM) ודוד בא מחנימה ואבשלם עבר את הירדן הוא וכל איש ישראל עמו׃
24 (KAT) Dávid prišiel do Mahanaimu, Absolón (on a všetci muži Izraela s ním) prešiel cez Jordán.
24 (UKJV) Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.

25 (UKJV) And Absalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Joab: which Amasa was a man's son, whose name was Ithra an Israelite, that went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah Joab's mother.

26 (HEM) ויחן ישראל ואבשלם ארץ הגלעד׃
26 (KAT) Izraeliti a Absolón táborili v krajine Galaád.
26 (UKJV) So Israel and Absalom pitched in the land of Gilead.

27 (HEM) ויהי כבוא דוד מחנימה ושבי בן נחש מרבת בני עמון ומכיר בן עמיאל מלא דבר וברזלי הגלעדי מרגלים׃
27 (KAT) Keď Dávid prišiel do Mahanaimu, Sóbi, syn Naása z Raby Amončanov, Machir, syn Amiela z Lodabaru, a Galaádčan Berzelai z Rogelimu
27 (UKJV) And it came to pass, when David was come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim,

28 (HEM) משכב וספות וכלי יוצר וחטים ושערים וקמח וקלי ופול ועדשים וקלי׃

28 (UKJV) Brought beds, and basons, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and flour, and parched corn, and beans, and lentils, and parched vegetables,

29 (HEM) ודבש וחמאה וצאן ושפות בקר הגישו לדוד ולעם אשר אתו לאכול כי אמרו העם רעב ועיף וצמא במדבר׃
29 (KAT) med, maslo, ovce a kravský syr, aby mal čo jesť Dávid a ľud, ktorý bol s ním. Lebo si hovorili: „Ľud na púšti vyhladol, ustal a dostal smäd.“
29 (UKJV) And honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of cattle, for David, and for the people that were with him, to eat: for they said, The people is hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness.
