1 Gn 9, 1 And God blessed Noah and his sons. And he said to them: “Increase, and multiply, and fill the earth. 2 Gn 9, 2 And let the fear and trembling of you be upon all the animals of the earth, and upon all the birds of the air, along with all that moves across the earth. All the fish of the sea have been delivered into your hand. 3 Gn 9, 3 And everything that moves and lives will be food for you. Just as with the edible plants, I have delivered them all to you, 4 Gn 9, 4 except that flesh with blood you shall not eat. 5 Gn 9, 5 For I will examine the blood of your lives at the hand of every beast. So also, at the hand of mankind, at the hand of each man and his brother, I will examine the life of mankind. 6 Gn 9, 6 Whoever will shed human blood, his blood will be poured out. For man was indeed made to the image of God. 7 Gn 9, 7 But as for you: increase and multiply, and go forth upon the earth and fulfill it.” 8 Gn 9, 8 To Noah and to his sons with him, God also said this: 9 Gn 9, 9 “Behold, I will establish my covenant with you, and with your offspring 6 after you, 10 Gn 9, 10 and with every living soul that is with you: as much with the birds as with the cattle and all the animals of the earth that have gone forth from the ark, and with all the wild beasts of the earth. 11 Gn 9, 11 I will establish my covenant with you, and no longer will all that is flesh be put to death by the waters of a great flood, and, henceforth, there will not be a great flood to utterly destroy the earth.” 12 Gn 9, 12 And God said: “This is the sign of the pact that I grant between me and you, and to every living soul that is with you, for perpetual generations. 13 Gn 9, 13 I will place my arc in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the pact between myself and the earth. 14 Gn 9, 14 And when I obscure the sky with clouds, my arc will appear in the clouds. 15 Gn 9, 15 And I will remember my covenant with you, and with every living soul that enlivens flesh. And there will no longer be waters from a great flood to wipe away all that is flesh. 16 Gn 9, 16 And the arc will be in the clouds, and I will see it, and I will remember the everlasting covenant that was enacted between God and every living soul of all that is flesh upon the earth.” 17 Gn 9, 17 And God said to Noah, “This will be the sign of the covenant that I have established between myself and all that is flesh upon the earth.” 18 Gn 9, 18 And so the sons of Noah, who came out of the ark, were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Now Ham himself is the father of Canaan. 19 Gn 9, 19 These three are the sons of Noah. And from these all the family of mankind was spread over the whole earth. 20 Gn 9, 20 And Noah, a good farmer, began to cultivate the land, and he planted a vineyard. 21 Gn 9, 21 And by drinking its wine, he became inebriated and was naked in his tent. 22 Gn 9, 22 Because of this, when Ham, the father of Canaan, had indeed seen the privates of his father to be naked, he reported it to his two brothers outside. 23 Gn 9, 23 And truly, Shem and Japheth put a cloak upon their arms, and, advancing backwards, covered the privates of their father. And their faces were turned away, so that they did not see their father’s manhood. 24 Gn 9, 24 Then Noah, awaking from the wine, when he had learned what his younger son had done to him, 25 Gn 9, 25 he said, “Cursed be Canaan, a servant of servants will he be to his brothers.” 26 Gn 9, 26 And he said: “Blessed be the Lord God of Shem, let Canaan be his servant. 27 Gn 9, 27 May God enlarge Japheth, and may he live in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his servant.” 28 Gn 9, 28 And after the great flood, Noah lived for three hundred and fifty years. 29 Gn 9, 29 And all his days were completed in nine hundred and fifty years, and then he died.

And God blessed Noah and his sons. And he said to them: “Increase, and multiply, and fill the earth.
Gn 1:28 - And God blessed them, and he said, “Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and the flying creatures of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
Gn 8:17 - Bring out with you all the living things that are with you, all that is flesh: as with the birds, so also with the wild beasts and all the animals that move upon the earth. And enter upon the land: increase and multiply upon it.”
Verš 3
And everything that moves and lives will be food for you. Just as with the edible plants, I have delivered them all to you,
Gn 1:29 - And God said: “Behold, I have given you every seed-bearing plant upon the earth, and all the trees that have in themselves the ability to sow their own kind, to be food for you,
Verš 4
except that flesh with blood you shall not eat.
Lv 3:17 - by a perpetual law, in your generations and in all of your habitations, neither blood nor fat shall you eat at all.
Lv 7:26 - Likewise, you shall not take as food the blood of any animals at all, whether of birds or beasts.
Lv 17:14 - For the life of all flesh is in the blood. Therefore, I said to the sons of Israel: You shall not eat the blood of any flesh at all, because the life of the flesh is in the blood, and whoever has eaten it shall perish.
Lv 19:26 - You shall not eat with blood. You shall not practice divination, nor the observation of dreams.
Dt 12:23 - Only beware of this: you may not eat the blood. For their blood is for the soul. And because of this, you must not eat the soul with the flesh.
Verš 5
For I will examine the blood of your lives at the hand of every beast. So also, at the hand of mankind, at the hand of each man and his brother, I will examine the life of mankind.
Ex 21:12 - Whoever strikes a man, intending to murder, shall be put to death.
Ex 21:28 - If an ox has struck a man or a woman with his horn, and if they die, it shall be stoned. And its flesh shall not be eaten; also, the owner of the ox will be innocent.
Verš 6
Whoever will shed human blood, his blood will be poured out. For man was indeed made to the image of God.
Nár 4:13 - MEM. It is because of the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, who have shed the blood of the just in her midst.
Mt 26:52 - Then Jesus said to him: “Put your sword back in its place. For all who take up the sword shall perish by the sword.
Zjv 13:10 - Whoever will be led into captivity, into captivity he goes. Whoever will kill with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the patient endurance and faith of the Saints.

“Behold, I will establish my covenant with you, and with your offspring 6 after you,
Iz 54:9 - For me, it is just as in the days of Noah, to whom I swore that I would no longer bring in the waters of Noah over the earth. Thus have I sworn not to be angry with you, and not to rebuke you.
Verš 18
And so the sons of Noah, who came out of the ark, were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Now Ham himself is the father of Canaan.
Gn 6:10 - And he conceived three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Gn 9,1-7 - Ako bol Boh požehnal Adama (1,28), tak teraz po potope požehnáva Noema, hlavu nového ľudstva, a dáva mu nadvládu nad všetkým, čo žije na zemi. Po dedičnom hriechu aj príroda sa spriečila človeku. Predtým vládol nad ňou ľahko a pokojne. Po potope Boh zakazuje jesť krv alebo mäso, v ktorom by ostala všetka krv. Podľa poňatia starozákonného človeka krv bola sídlom duše. Duša však prináleží len Bohu, najmä ľudská duša. Preto beda tomu, kto preleje ľudskú krv. Odteraz bude platiť zákon odvety: život za život. Prísnosť tohto zákona zakladá sa na hodnosti človeka, ktorý je stvorený na obraz Boží.
Gn 9,8-11 - Prísľub, že Boh nezničí svet celosvetovou potopou, dotýka sa človeka, zvierat a všetkého potomstva. Zvieratá, stvorené kvôli človekovi, pokladajú sa s ním za jeden celok. Boh nevyničí viac potopou všetko stvorenstvo! Boh sa zaručuje za tento prísľub a Písmo nám ho opisuje ako "zmluvu", na ktorú spomienkou bude dúha. Prítomnosťou zmluvy medzi Bohom a človekom je odteraz téma zla ohraničená a prekonaná inou témou, ktorej budú patriť nasledujúce stránky Písma – témou znovunarodenia, obnovenia a spásy.
Gn 9,12-16 - Túto zmluvu Boh potvrdzuje znamením, znakom, akoby pečaťou. Dúha bude znamením pokoja a Božieho milosrdenstva. Neskôr, pri Abrahámovi bude to obriezka (Gn 17,11), pri sinajskej zmluve pokropenie krvou obetných zvierat. Autor netvrdí, že Boh vtedy stvoril dúhu alebo, že by sa vtedy prvýkrát zjavila. Znamenie nemusí byť niečo mimoriadne.
Gn 9,18-19 - Tieto verše sú úvodom k nasledujúcej rozprave a pripravujú aj správu o rozchode národov (hl. 10 – 11). Sem, hebr. šém, značí ,meno, slávne meno'; Cham značí ,teplý' alebo ,spojený' a napokon Jafet ,krása' alebo ,šírka'.
Gn 9,25-27 - Udivuje, že Noe nepreklial ani tak Chama, ako jeho potomstvo, čo bolo pre Chama horšie. Boh najcitlivejšie tresce ľudí na deťoch. Potomci Chamovi stanú sa sluhami svojich bratov. Kanaánčania, ako to dokazujú dejiny, upadli do takej bezbožnosti, že naozaj sa splnila na nich kliatba Noemova. Izraeliti, potomci to Semovi, v čase príchodu do zasľúbenej zeme ich sčiastky podmanili, sčiastky vyhubili. Sem dostáva otcovské požehnanie a je vyslovené chválou Semovho Boha. Pravý Boh bude mať osobitný vzťah k potomstvu Semovmu. I keď mnohí zo Semitov odpadnú od viery v pravého Boha, prakticky však niektorí ostanú verní, a ako to neskoršie svätopisec ukáže, budú to Izraeliti. Požehnanie je už v tom, že so Semitmi bude Pán, Boh. – Aj Jafet dostáva požehnanie, on síce nebude nositeľom zjavenia Božieho ako Sem, ale Boh ho požehná početným potomstvom. V hebrejčine je istá slovná hra, veď Jafet značí šírku, rozvetvenie. Jafet bude bývať "pod Semovými stanmi", bude účastný na Semovom požehnaní, potomci Jafetovi poznajú pravého Boha. A vtedy aj Kanaánčania budú slúžiť potomkom Semovým.
