Gn 49, 1-33

1 (CPDV) Then Jacob called his sons, and he said to them: “Gather together, so that I may announce what will happen to you in the last days.
1 (ROH) A Jakob povolal svojich synov a riekol: Sídite sa, a oznámim vám, čo sa bude s vami diať v pozdejších dňoch.

2 (CPDV) Gather together and listen, O sons of Jacob. Listen to Israel, your father.
2 (ROH) Shromaždite sa a počujte, synovia Jakobovi, počujte Izraela, svojho otca!

3 (CPDV) Reuben, my firstborn, you are my strength and the beginning of my sorrow: first in gifts, greater in authority.
3 (ROH) Rúben, ty si môj prvorodený, moja sila a počiatok mojej vlády, predné dôstojnosti a predné moci.

4 (CPDV) You are being poured out like water, may you not increase. For you climbed onto your father’s bed, and you defiled his resting place.

5 (CPDV) The brothers Simeon and Levi: vessels of iniquity waging war.
5 (ROH) Simeon a Lévi sú bratia; ich meče sú nástrojmi ukrutnosti.

6 (CPDV) Let not my soul go by their counsel, nor my glory be within their meeting. For in their fury they killed a man, and in their self-will they undermined a wall.
6 (ROH) Nech nevojde moja duša do ich rady a moja sláva nech sa nepripojí k ich shromaždeniu, lebo vo svojom hneve zavraždili muža a vo svojej samovôli podrezali volovi žily.

7 (CPDV) Cursed be their fury, because it was obstinate, and their indignation, because it was harsh. I will divide them in Jacob, and I will scatter them in Israel.
Rozdelím ich v Jakobovi a rozptýlim ich v Izraelovi.

8 (CPDV) Judah, your brothers will praise you. Your hand will be at the necks of your enemies; the sons of your father will reverence you.
8 (ROH) Júda, teba budú chváliť tvoji bratia. Tvoja ruka bude na šiji tvojich nepriateľov. Klaňať sa ti budú synovia tvojho otca.

9 (CPDV) Judah is a lion’s young. You have gone up to the prey, my son. While resting, you have lain like a lion. And just like a lioness, who would rouse him?

10 (CPDV) The scepter from Judah and the leader from his thigh will not be taken away, until he who will be sent arrives, and he will be the expectation of Gentiles.

11 (CPDV) Tying his young colt to the vineyard, and his donkey, O my son, to the vine, he will wash his robe in wine, and his cloak in the blood of the grape.
11 (ROH) Priviaže svoje osľa na vinič a na výbornú révu syna svojej oslice; operie svoje rúcho vo víne a v krvi hrozna svoj odev.

12 (CPDV) His eyes are more beautiful than wine, and his teeth whiter 30 than milk.
12 (ROH) Bude tmavších očí nad víno, a belších zubov nad mlieko.

13 (CPDV) Zebulun will live at the seashore and by the outpost of ships, reaching as far as Sidon.

14 (CPDV) Issachar will be a strong donkey, reclining between the borders.
14 (ROH) Izachár, kostnatý osol silný, ktorý leží medzi dvoma ohradami.

15 (CPDV) He saw that rest would be good, and that the land was excellent. And so he bent his shoulder to carry, and he became a servant under tribute.

16 (CPDV) Dan will judge his people just like any other tribe in Israel.
16 (ROH) Dán, bude súdiť svoj ľud ako jedno z pokolení Izraelových.

17 (CPDV) Let Dan be a snake in the way, a viper in the path, biting the hooves of horses, so that his rider may fall backward.

18 (CPDV) I will wait for your salvation, O Lord.
18 (ROH) Na tvoje spasenie očakávam, Hospodine!

19 (CPDV) Gad, being girded, will fight before him. And he himself will be girded backward.
19 (ROH) Gád, zástup ho bude sovierať, ale naposledy on sovrie.

20 (CPDV) Asher: his bread will be fat, and he will provide delicacies to the kings.
20 (ROH) Z Asera? Jeho chlieb bude samá tučnota, a on bude dodávať rozkošné potraviny kráľovské.

21 (CPDV) Naphtali is a stag sent forth, offering words of eloquent beauty.
21 (ROH) Naftali, vypustená jelenica, ktorý dáva krásne reči.

22 (CPDV) Joseph is a growing son, a growing son and stately to behold; the daughters run back and forth on the wall.

23 (CPDV) But those who held darts, provoked him, and they contend with him, and they envied him.
23 (ROH) Boli ho naplnili horkosťou; strieľali do neho a útočili na neho strelci, strieľajúci strely z lučišťa.

24 (CPDV) His bow sits in strength, and the bands of his arms and hands have been let loose by the hands of the mighty one of Jacob. From there he went forth as a pastor, the stone of Israel.

25 (CPDV) The God of your father will be your helper, and the Almighty will bless you with the blessings of heaven above, with the blessings of the abyss that lies beneath, with the blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

26 (CPDV) The blessings of your father are strengthened by the blessings of his fathers, until the desire of the hills of eternity shall arrive. May they be at the head of Joseph, and at the summit of the Nazarite, among his brothers.

27 (CPDV) Benjamin is a ravenous wolf, in the morning he will eat the prey, and in the evening he will divide the spoil.”
27 (ROH) Benjamin bude jako dravý vlk; ráno bude jesť lúpež a na večer rozdelí korisť.

28 (CPDV) All these are the twelve tribes of Israel. These things their father spoke to them, and he blessed each one with their proper blessings.
A to je to, čo im hovoril ich otec, a požehnal ich, každého z nich požehnal podľa toho, jaké bolo ktorého požehnanie.

29 (CPDV) And he instructed them, saying: “I am being gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the double cave, which is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
29 (ROH) A prikázal im a riekol im: Ja budem pripojený k svojmu ľudu.

30 (CPDV) opposite Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought, along with its field, from Ephron the Hittite, as a possession for burial.

31 (CPDV) There they buried him, with his wife Sarah.” And there Isaac was buried with his wife Rebekah. There also Leah lies preserved.
31 (ROH) Tam pochovali Abraháma i Sáru, jeho ženu; tam pochovali Izáka i Rebeku, jeho ženu, a tam som ja pochoval Leu.

32 (CPDV) And having finished these commands by which he instructed his sons, he drew his feet onto the bed, and he passed away. And he was gathered to his people.

Gn 49,6 - Hoci boli vlastní bratia a hoci takú jednotu preukázali vo svojej ukrutnosti, neujdú trestu, budú od seba oddelení a rozdelení medzi ostatné kmene.

Gn 49,16 - Dan ,sudca' uháji a zaobstará právo svojmu ľudu, svojim príslušníkom. Slovná hračka ako 30,6. Rohatá zmija je piesočná zmija, veľmi jedovatá.

Gn 49,22-26 - O Jozefovi naznačuje Jakub niečo z minulosti, niečo mu predpovedá do budúcnosti.

Gn 49,29 - Pozri 25,8.

Gn 49,30 - O jaskyni Makpele porov. 23,9-18.

Gn 49,33 - Tak sa pripojil… pozri 25,8.17; 35,29.
