1 (UKJV) And it came to pass after these things, that one told Joseph, Behold, your father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
1 (ROH) A stalo sa po týchto udalostiach, že povedali Jozefovi: Hľa, tvoj otec je nemocný. Vtedy vzal so sebou svojich dvoch synov, Manassesa a Efraima.
2 (UKJV) And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, your son Joseph comes unto you: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.
2 (ROH) A oznámili Jakobovi a riekli: Hľa, tvoj syn Jozef prišiel k tebe. A Izrael sa posilnil a posadil sa na posteli.
3 (UKJV) And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
3 (ROH) A Jakob riekol Jozefovi: Silný Bôh všemohúci sa mi ukázal v Lúze, v Kananejskej zemi, a požehnal ma
4 (UKJV) "And said unto me, Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people; and will give this land to your seed after you for an everlasting possession. "
4 (ROH) a riekol mi: Hľa, rozplodím ťa a rozmnožím ťa a učiním ťa hromadou národov a dám túto zem tvojmu semenu po tebe za večné vlastníctvo.
5 (UKJV) "And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto you in the land of Egypt before I came unto you into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. "
5 (ROH) A tak teraz tvoji dvaja synovia, ktorí sa ti narodili v Egyptskej zemi, prv ako som ja prišiel k tebe do Egypta, sú moji, Efraim a Manasses, a budú mi jako Rúben a Simeon.
6 (UKJV) And your issue, which you brought forth after them, shall be yours, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.
6 (ROH) Ale tvoj rod, tvoje deti, ktoré splodíš po nich, budú tvoje; budú sa menovať menom svojich bratov vo svojom dedičstve.
7 (UKJV) "And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem. "
7 (ROH) Lebo keď som ja prišiel z Pádana, zomrela mi Rácheľ v Kananejskej zemi na ceste, keď už nebolo ďaleko do Efraty, a pochoval som ju tam na ceste do Efraty, to je Betlehem.
8 (UKJV) And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these?
8 (ROH) A keď videl Izrael synov Jozefových, riekol: Kto sú títo?
9 (UKJV) And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray you, unto me, and I will bless them.
9 (ROH) A Jozef odpovedal svojmu otcovi: To sú moji synovia, ktorých mi dal Bôh tu. A riekol: Doveď ich, prosím, ku mne, a požehnám ich.
10 (UKJV) "Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them. "
10 (ROH) A oči Izraelove boly ťažké od staroby; nemohol vidieť, a Jozef ich priviedol k nemu, a on ich bozkával a objímal ich.
11 (UKJV) And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see your face: and, lo, God has showed me also your seed.
11 (ROH) A Izrael riekol Jozefovi: Nemyslel som, že by som voľakedy videl tvoju tvár, a hľa, Bôh mi dal vidieť i tvoje semeno.
12 (UKJV) And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.
12 (ROH) Potom ich odviedol Jozef od jeho kolien a poklonil sa tvárou k zemi.
13 (UKJV) And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him.
13 (ROH) A Jozef ich pojal oboch, Efraima do svojej pravej ruky, z ľavej strany Izraelovi, a Manassesa do svojej ľavej ruky, z pravej strany Izraelovi, a doviedol ich k nemu.
14 (UKJV) "And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wisely; for Manasseh was the firstborn. "
14 (ROH) A Izrael vystrel svoju pravú ruku a položil ju na hlavu Efraimovi, ktorý bol mladší, a svoju ľavú ruku položil na hlavu Manassesovu prekrížiac svoje ruky s rozmyslom, lebo Manasses bol prvorodený.
15 (UKJV) And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
15 (ROH) A požehnal Jozefa a riekol: Bôh, pred ktorého tvárou chodili moji otcovia, Abrahám a Izák, Bôh, ktorý ma opatroval celý môj život až do tohoto dňa,
16 (UKJV) "The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth. "
16 (ROH) ten Anjel, ktorý ma vyprostil zo všetkého zlého, nech požehná týchto mládencov, a nech sa volajú po mojom mene a po mene mojich otcov, Abraháma a Izáka, a čo do množstva nech sa až hemžia prostred zeme.
17 (UKJV) And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
17 (ROH) A keď videl Jozef, že jeho otec položil svoju pravú ruku na hlavu Efraimovu, neľúbilo sa mu to, a pochytil ruku svojho otca, aby ju preniesol s hlavy Efraimovej na hlavu Manassesovu.
18 (UKJV) "And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put your right hand upon his head. "
18 (ROH) A Jozef povedal svojmu otcovi: Nie tak, môj otče, lebo toto je prvorodený; polož svoju pravicu na jeho hlavu.
19 (UKJV) And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
19 (ROH) Ale jeho otec odoprel a riekol: Viem, môj synu, viem, aj on bude ľudom a on tiež bude veľký, avšak jeho mladší brat bude väčší od neho, a jeho semeno bude početným medzi národami.
20 (UKJV) And he blessed them that day, saying, In you shall Israel bless, saying, God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
20 (ROH) A požehnal ich toho dňa a riekol: Tebou bude dávať požehnanie Izrael a povie: Nech ťa učiní Bôh ako Efraima a Manassesa! A postavil Efraima pred Manassesa.
21 (UKJV) And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.
21 (ROH) A Izrael riekol Jozefovi: Hľa, ja už zomriem, ale Bôh bude s vami a navráti vás do zeme vašich otcov.
22 (UKJV) Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.
22 (ROH) A ja som ti dal jeden diel nad tvojich bratov, ktorý som vzal z ruky Amoreja svojím mečom a svojím lukom.

Verš 3
And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
Gn 17:1 - "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be you perfect. "
Gn 35:6 - So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him.

"And said unto me, Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people; and will give this land to your seed after you for an everlasting possession. "
Gn 28:3 - "And God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, that you may be a multitude of people; "
Gn 35:11 - "And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of you, and kings shall come out of your loins; "

"And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto you in the land of Egypt before I came unto you into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. "
Gn 41:50 - And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.
Gn 46:20 - And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.

"And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem. "
Gn 35:19 - And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.

And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
Heb 11:21 - "By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff. "
Verš 16
"The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth. "
Gn 31:42 - Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely you had sent me away now empty. God has seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked you last night.
Gn 32:1 - And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.

And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
Rút 4:11 - And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that has come into your house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do you worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:
Verš 20
And he blessed them that day, saying, In you shall Israel bless, saying, God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
Jer 31:20 - "Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spoke against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, says the LORD. "
Verš 22
Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.
Joz 13:7 - Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh,
Joz 16:1 - And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goes up from Jericho throughout mount Bethel,
Joz 17:1 - "There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to know, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan. "
Joz 24:8 - "And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that all of you might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you. "
Gn 48,5 - Jakub adoptuje oboch synov Jozefových. Dáva im tie isté práva, ako majú ostatní synovia Jakubovi. Na požehnaní a prísľube z Betelu (35,11–12) majú mať synovia Jozefovi rovnaký podiel ako ostatní synovia Jakubovi. Efraim a Manasses stanú sa praotcami kmeňov a pripadne im rovnaký podiel pri rozdelení Kanaánu.
Gn 48,6 - Jozef mal aj iných synov, tí sa však pripoja k Efraimovi a Manassesovi. Keď Jakub namiesto Jozefa volí za dedičov jeho dvoch synov, tým dáva najavo, že na Jozefa preniesol právo prvorodeného. Jozef vo svojich synoch dostáva dva podiely. A to bolo právo prvorodeného.
Gn 48,7 - Porov. pozn. k 35,16–20.
Gn 48,8 - Jakubov zrak je už slabý, vidí dve postavy, ale už ich nerozoznáva.
Gn 48,13 - Jozef predvádza svojich synov podľa veku, a to tak, aby Jakubova pravá ruka dostala sa na staršieho syna, Manassesa. Pravica značila šťastie a hojnosť a toto všetko mal dostať prvorodený Jozefov.
Gn 48,19 - Mladší Jozefov Efraim v budúcnosti bude viac znamenať v histórii vyvoleného národa ako Manasses, bude to mocný a početný kmeň. Efraimov kmeň dostáva sa na popredné miesto v čase sudcov a po Šalamúnovi je vôbec najmocnejším kmeňom v severnej ríši kráľovstva Efraim!
Gn 48,20 - Požehnanie, ktoré dostávajú synovia Jozefovi, bude príslovečné. Keď niekto bude žehnať svoje potomstvo, bude im žičiť šťastie, ktorým obdaril Boh Efraima a Manassesa.
Gn 48,22 - Podiel, ktorý vyrval Jakub v boji Amorejčanom, nie je pozemok, ktorý kúpil (33,19). Apokryfná kniha Jubileorum v hl. 34 má rozpravu o boji, ktorý viedol Jakub s amorejskými kráľmi v okolí Sichemu, keď jeho synovia boli tu prepadnutí. Mojžiš tu zachytáva podanie o tomto boji. Isteže je to pozemok, podiel v okolí Sichemu; neskoršie tam uložili Jozefove kosti (Ex 13,19 a Joz 24,32).
