Gn 47, 1-31

1 (CPDV) And so Joseph entered and reported to Pharaoh, saying: “My father and brothers, their sheep and herds, and everything that they possess, have arrived from the land of Canaan. And behold, they stand together in the land of Goshen.”
1 (ROH) Potom prišiel Jozef a oznámil faraonovi a riekol: Môj otec i moji bratia prišli so svojím drobným stádom a so svojím hovädzím dobytkom i so všetkým, čo majú, z Kananejskej zeme, a hľa, sú v zemi Gózena.

2 (CPDV) Likewise, he stood in the sight of the king five men, the last of his brothers.
2 (ROH) A pojal niekoľkých svojich bratov, piatich mužov, a postavil ich pred faraonom.

3 (CPDV) And he questioned them, “What do you have for work?” They responded: “Your servants are pastors of sheep, both we and our fathers.

4 (CPDV) We came to sojourn in your land, because there is no grass for the flocks of your servants, the famine being very grievous in the land of Canaan. And we petition you that you may order us, your servants, to be in the land of Goshen.”

5 (CPDV) And so the king said to Joseph: “Your father and brothers have come to you.
5 (ROH) A faraon povedal Jozefovi a riekol: Tvoj otec a tvoji bratia prišli k tebe.

6 (CPDV) The land of Egypt is in your sight. Cause them to live in the best place, and deliver to them the land of Goshen. And if you know there to be industrious men among them, appoint these as foremen over my cattle.”
6 (ROH) Egyptská zem je pred tebou. Osaď svojho otca a svojich bratov v najlepšom kraji zeme.

7 (CPDV) After this, Joseph brought in his father to the king, and he stood him in his sight. He blessed him,
7 (ROH) Potom voviedol Jozef Jakoba, svojho otca, a postavil ho pred faraonom. A Jakob požehnal faraona.

8 (CPDV) and he questioned him: “How many are the days of the years of your life?”
8 (ROH) A faraon povedal Jakobovi: Koľko je dní rokov tvojho života?

9 (CPDV) He responded, “The days of my sojourn are one hundred and thirty years, few and unworthy, and they do not reach even to the days of the sojourning of my fathers.”
9 (ROH) A Jakob odpovedal faraonovi: Dní rokov môjho putovania je sto tridsať rokov. Málo ich bolo, a zlé boly dni rokov môjho života a nedosiahly počtu dní rokov života mojich otcov za dní ich putovania.

10 (CPDV) And blessing the king, he went outside.
10 (ROH) A Jakob požehnal faraona a vyšiel zpred tvári faraonovej.

11 (CPDV) Truly, Joseph gave his father and brothers a possession in Egypt, in the best place of the land, in Rameses, as Pharaoh had instructed.
11 (ROH) A Jozef osadil svojho otca a svojich bratov a dal im vlastníctvo v Egyptskej zemi, v najlepšom kraji zeme, v zemi Ramsesa, jako to rozkázal faraon.

12 (CPDV) And he fed them, along with all his father’s house, providing portions of food to each one.
12 (ROH) A Jozef zaopatroval svojho otca a svojich bratov a celý dom svojho otca chlebom podľa počtu drobných detí.

13 (CPDV) For in the whole world there was a lack of bread, and a famine had oppressed the land, most of all Egypt and Canaan,

14 (CPDV) from which he gathered together all the money for the grain that they bought, and he took it into the treasury of the king.

15 (CPDV) And when the buyers had run out of money, all Egypt came to Joseph, saying: “Give us bread. Why should we die in your sight, lacking money?”
15 (ROH) A keď už nebolo viacej peňazí v Egyptskej zemi ani v Kananejskej zemi, prichádzali všetci Egypťania k Jozefovi a vraveli: Daj nám chleba; lebo prečo máme zomrieť pred tebou, keď už nieto peňazí?

16 (CPDV) And he responded to them: “Bring me your cattle, and I will give food to you in exchange for them, if you do not have money.”
16 (ROH) A Jozef riekol: Dajte svoj dobytok, a dám vám za váš dobytok, ak už nieto peňazí.

17 (CPDV) And when they had brought them, he gave them food for their horses, and sheep, and oxen, and donkeys. And he sustained them in that year in exchange for their cattle.
17 (ROH) Vtedy doviedli svoj dobytok k Jozefovi.

18 (CPDV) Likewise, they came the second year, and they said to him: “We will not conceal from our lord that our money is gone; likewise our cattle are gone. Neither are you unaware that we have nothing left but our bodies and our land.
Nezostalo nám pred naším pánom ničoho krome nášho tela a našej zeme.

19 (CPDV) Therefore, why should you watch us die? Both we and our land will be yours. Buy us 29 into royal servitude, but provide seed, lest by the dying off of cultivators the land be reduced to a wilderness.”
19 (ROH) Prečo máme pomrieť pred tvojimi očima i my i naša zem? Kúp nás i našu zem za chlieb, a budeme i my i naša zem služobníkmi faraonovi, a daj nám semä, aby sme žili a nepomreli, a nespustne zem.

20 (CPDV) Therefore, Joseph bought all the land of Egypt, each one selling his possessions because of the magnitude of the famine. And he subjected it to Pharaoh,
20 (ROH) A tak kúpil Jozef všetku zem egyptskú faraonovi. Lebo Egypťania predali každý svoje pole, pretože silne doliehal na nich hlad, a zem sa dostala faraonovi.

21 (CPDV) along with all of its people, from the newest borders of Egypt, even to its furthest limits,
21 (ROH) A čo do ľudu, previedol ho do miest od jedného konca hranice Egypta po druhý.

22 (CPDV) except the land of the priests, which had been delivered to them by the king. To these also a portion of food was supplied out of the public storehouses, and, for this reason, they were not compelled to sell their possessions.
22 (ROH) Len zeme kňazov nekúpil, lebo kňazi mali ustanovenú čiastku od faraona a jedli svoju ustanovenú čiastku, ktorú im dával faraon; preto nepredali svojej zeme.

23 (CPDV) Therefore, Joseph said to the people: “So, as you discern, both you and your lands are possessed by Pharaoh; take seed and sow the fields,
23 (ROH) A Jozef riekol ľudu: Hľa, kúpil som vás dnes i vašu zem faraonovi. Tu máte semeno a budete osievať zem.

24 (CPDV) so that you may be able to have grain. One fifth part you will give to the king; the remaining four I permit to you, as seed and as food for your families and children.
24 (ROH) A keď bude bývať úroda, dáte pätinu faraonovi, štyri čiastky budú vám na osievanie poľa a na pokrm vám i tomu, čo bude vo vašich domoch, a na pokrm vašim deťom.

25 (CPDV) And they responded: “Our health is in your hand; only let our lord look kindly upon us, and we will serve the king with gladness.”
25 (ROH) A povedali: Zachoval si nás pri živote. Nech najdeme milosť v očiach svojho pána a budeme služobníkmi faraonovi.

26 (CPDV) From that time, even to the present day, in the entire land of Egypt, the fifth part is turned over to the kings, and it has become like a law, except in the land of the priests, which was free from this condition.
26 (ROH) A Jozef to učinil zákonom až do dnešného dňa na Egyptskej zemi, aby sa dával faraonovi piaty diel; iba zem samých kňazov nestala sa faraonovou.

27 (CPDV) And so, Israel lived in Egypt, that is, in the land of Goshen, and he possessed it. And he increased and was multiplied exceedingly.

28 (CPDV) And he lived in it seventeen years. And all the days of his life that passed were one hundred and forty-seven years.
28 (ROH) A Jakob žil v Egyptskej zemi sedemnásť rokov. A Jakobových dní, rokov jeho života, bolo sto štyridsať sedem rokov.

29 (CPDV) And when he discerned that the day of his death was approaching, he called his son Joseph, and he said to him: “If I have found favor in your sight, place your hand under my thigh. And you shall show me mercy and truth, not to bury me in Egypt.
29 (ROH) A priblížily sa dni Izraelove, aby zomrel. Vtedy zavolal svojho syna Jozefa a riekol mu: Ak som našiel milosť v tvojich očiach, polož, prosím, svoju ruku pod moje bedro a učiníš pri mne milosrdenstvo a pravdu. Nepochovaj ma, prosím, v Egypte.

30 (CPDV) But I shall sleep with my fathers, and you will carry me from this land and bury me in the sepulcher of my ancestors.” And Joseph answered him, “I will do what you have ordered.”
A riekol: Ja učiním podľa tvojho slova.

31 (CPDV) And he said, “Then swear it to me.” And as he was swearing, Israel adored God, turning to the head of his resting place.
31 (ROH) Vtedy povedal: Prisahaj mi! A prisahal mu.
