1 (UKJV) Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, Why do all of you look one upon another?
1 (ROH) A keď videl Jakob, že je obilie v Egypte, riekol svojim synom: Prečo hľadíte jeden na druhého?
1 (RIV) Or Giacobbe, vedendo che c’era del grano in Egitto, disse ai suoi figliuoli: "Perché vi state a guardare l’un l’altro?"

2 (UKJV) "And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die. "
2 (ROH) A riekol: Hľa, počul som, že je obilie v Egypte. Odídite ta dolu a kúpte nám odtiaľ obilia, a budeme žiť a nezomrieme.
2 (RIV) Poi disse: "Ecco, ho sentito dire che c’è del grano in Egitto; scendete colà per comprarcene, onde possiam vivere e non abbiamo a morire".

3 (UKJV) And Joseph's ten brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt.
3 (ROH) A tak odišlo dolu desať bratov Jozefových, aby nakúpili obilia z Egypta.
3 (RIV) E dieci de’ fratelli di Giuseppe scesero in Egitto per comprarvi del grano.

4 (UKJV) "But Benjamin, Joseph's brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest possibly mischief befall him. "

5 (UKJV) And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan.
5 (ROH) A synovia Izraelovi prišli kúpiť obilia spolu medzi inými, ktorí tiež prišli kupovať, pretože bol hlad v Kananejskej zemi.
5 (RIV) E i figliuoli d’Israele giunsero per comprare del grano in mezzo agli altri, che pur venivano; poiché nel paese di Canaan c’era la carestia.

6 (UKJV) And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.
6 (ROH) A Jozef bol vladárom nad zemou; on predával obilie všetkému ľudu zeme. Keď tedy prišli bratia Jozefovi, poklonili sa mu tvárou k zemi.
6 (RIV) Or Giuseppe era colui che comandava nel paese; era lui che vendeva il grano a tutta la gente del paese; e i fratelli di Giuseppe vennero, e si prostrarono dinanzi a lui con la faccia a terra.

7 (UKJV) "And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spoke roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come all of you? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food. "
7 (ROH) A keď videl Jozef svojich bratov, poznal ich. Ale sa staväl ku nim cudzí a hovoril s nimi tvrde a riekol im: Odkiaľ ste prišli? A oni odpovedali: Prišli sme z Kananejskej zeme, aby sme nakúpili potravín.
7 (RIV) E Giuseppe vide i suoi fratelli e li riconobbe, ma fece lo straniero davanti a loro, e parlò loro aspramente e disse loro: "Donde venite?" Ed essi risposero: "Dal paese di Canaan per comprar de’ viveri".

8 (UKJV) And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew not him.
8 (ROH) Tedy Jozef poznal svojich bratov, ale oni jeho nepoznali.

9 (UKJV) "And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, All of you are spies; to see the nakedness of the land all of you are come. "

10 (UKJV) And they said unto him, Nay, my lord, but to buy food are your servants come.
10 (ROH) A oni mu povedali: Nie tak, môj pane, ale tvoji služobníci prišli nakúpiť potravín.
10 (RIV) Ed essi a lui: "No, signor mio; i tuoi servitori son venuti a comprar de’ viveri.

11 (UKJV) "We are all one man's sons; we are true men, your servants are no spies. "
11 (ROH) My všetci sme synovia jedného muža; sme statoční ľudia; nikdy neboli tvoji služobníci vyzvedačmi.
11 (RIV) Siamo tutti figliuoli d’uno stesso uomo; siamo gente sincera; i tuoi servitori non son delle spie".

12 (UKJV) And he said unto them, Nay, but to see the nakedness of the land all of you are come.
12 (ROH) A riekol im: Nie, ale nahé miesta zeme ste prišli vidieť.
12 (RIV) Ed egli disse loro: "No, siete venuti per vedere i luoghi sforniti del paese!"

13 (UKJV) "And they said, Your servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not. "
13 (ROH) A odpovedali: My dvanásti tvoji služobníci sme boli bratia, synovia jedného muža, v Kananejskej zemi. A hľa, najmladší je teraz s naším otcom, a jedného niet.
13 (RIV) E quelli risposero: "Noi, tuoi servitori, siamo dodici fratelli, figliuoli d’uno stesso uomo, nel paese di Canaan. Ed ecco, il più giovane è oggi con nostro padre, e uno non è più".

14 (UKJV) And Joseph said unto them, That is it that I spoke unto you, saying, All of you are spies:
14 (ROH) A Jozef im riekol: To je to, čo som vám hovoril, že ste vyzvedači.
14 (RIV) E Giuseppe disse loro: "La cosa è come v’ho detto; siete delle spie!

15 (UKJV) Hereby all of you shall be proved: By the life of Pharaoh all of you shall not go forth behind, except your youngest brother come here.
15 (ROH) Týmto budete zkúsení: Ako že žije faraon, nevyjdete odtiaľto, len ak sem prijde váš najmladší brat.
15 (RIV) Ecco come sarete messi alla prova: Per la vita di Faraone, non uscirete di qui prima che il vostro fratello più giovine sia venuto qua.

16 (UKJV) Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and all of you shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely all of you are spies.
16 (ROH) Pošlite jedného zpomedzi seba, aby pojal a doviedol vášho brata, a vy zostanete vo väzení, a tak budú zkúsené vaše slová, či je pri vás pravda. Jestli nie, ako že žije faraon, vyzvedači ste.
16 (RIV) Mandate uno di voi a prendere il vostro fratello; e voi resterete qui in carcere, perché le vostre parole siano messe alla prova, e si vegga se c’è del vero in voi; se no, per la vita di Faraone, siete delle spie!"

17 (UKJV) And he put them all together into ward three days.
17 (ROH) A dal ich všetkých pod stráž, kde boli tri dni.
17 (RIV) E li mise assieme in prigione per tre giorni.

18 (UKJV) "And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God: "
18 (ROH) Potom na tretí deň im povedal Jozef: Toto robte a žite. Ja sa bojím Boha.
18 (RIV) Il terzo giorno, Giuseppe disse loro: "Fate questo, e vivrete; io temo Iddio!

19 (UKJV) If all of you be true men, let one of your brethren be bound in the house of your prison: go all of you, carry corn for the famine of your houses:
19 (ROH) Ak ste vy statoční ľudia, jeden váš brat zostane uväznený v dome, v ktorom ste strážení, a vy iďte a odneste obilie na zapudenie hladu zo svojich domov.
19 (RIV) Se siete gente sincera, uno di voi fratelli resti qui incatenato nella vostra prigione; e voi, andate, portate del grano per la necessità delle vostre famiglie;

20 (UKJV) "But bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified, and all of you shall not die. And they did so. "
20 (ROH) A svojho najmladšieho brata dovediete ku mne, a vaše slová sa dokážu, že sú verné, a nezomriete. - A urobili tak.
20 (RIV) e menatemi il vostro fratello più giovine; così le vostre parole saranno verificate, e voi non morrete". Ed essi fecero così.

21 (UKJV) "And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us. "
21 (ROH) Vtedy vraveli brat bratovi: Pykáme spravedlivo, lebo istá vec, že sme sa previnili proti svojmu bratovi. Lebo sme videli úzkosť jeho duše, keď nás úpenlivo prosil, a nepočúvali sme; preto prišlo na nás toto súženie.
21 (RIV) E si dicevano l’uno all’altro: "Sì, noi fummo colpevoli verso il nostro fratello, giacché vedemmo l’angoscia dell’anima sua quando egli ci supplicava, e noi non gli demmo ascolto! Ecco perché ci viene addosso quest’angoscia".

22 (UKJV) "And Reuben answered them, saying, Spoke I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and all of you would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required. "
22 (ROH) A Rúben im odpovedal a riekol: Či som vám nehovoril: Nehrešte proti chlapcovi!? Ale neposlúchli ste. A hľa, vyhľadáva sa i jeho krv.
22 (RIV) E Ruben rispose loro, dicendo: "Non ve lo dicevo io: Non commettete questo peccato contro il fanciullo? Ma voi non mi voleste dare ascolto. Perciò ecco, che il suo sangue ci è ridomandato".

23 (UKJV) "And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for he spoke unto them by an interpreter. "
23 (ROH) A oni nevedeli, že Jozef rozumie, lebo im hovoril skrze tlumoča.
23 (RIV) Or quelli non sapevano che Giuseppe li capiva, perché fra lui e loro c’era un interprete.

24 (UKJV) "And he turned himself about from them, and wept; and returned to them again, and communed with them, and took from them Simeon, and bound him before their eyes. "

25 (UKJV) Then Joseph commanded to fill their sacks with corn, and to restore every man's money into his sack, and to give them provision for the way: and thus did he unto them.

27 (UKJV) "And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass animal food in the inn, he espied his money; for, behold, it was in his sack's mouth. "

28 (UKJV) "And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God has done unto us? "
28 (ROH) A povedal svojim bratom: Moje peniaze sú mi vrátené. Aj tu hľa, sú v mojom vreci. Vtedy ich opustila všetka odvaha. A predesení hovorili druh druhovi: Čo nám to učinil Bôh?

29 (UKJV) "And they came unto Jacob their father unto the land of Canaan, and told him all that befell unto them; saying, "
29 (ROH) A keď prišli k Jakobovi, svojmu otcovi, do Kananejskej zeme, rozprávali mu všetko, čo sa im prihodilo, a vraveli:
29 (RIV) E vennero a Giacobbe, loro padre, nel paese di Canaan, e gli raccontarono tutto quello ch’era loro accaduto, dicendo:

30 (UKJV) The man, who is the lord of the land, spoke roughly to us, and took us for spies of the country.
30 (ROH) Človek, pán zeme, hovoril s nami tvrde a dal nás do väzenia ako vyzvedačov zeme.
30 (RIV) "L’uomo ch’è il signor del paese, ci ha parlato aspramente e ci ha trattato da spie del paese.

31 (UKJV) "And we said unto him, We are true men; we are no spies: "
31 (ROH) A povedali sme mu: My sme statoční ľudia; nikdy sme neboli vyzvedačmi.
31 (RIV) E noi gli abbiamo detto: Siamo gente sincera; non siamo delle spie;

32 (UKJV) "We be twelve brethren, sons of our father; one is not, and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan. "
32 (ROH) Bolo nás dvanásť bratov, synov našeho otca; jedného niet, a najmladší je s naším otcom v Kananejskej zemi.

33 (UKJV) "And the man, the lord of the country, said unto us, Hereby shall I know that all of you are true men; leave one of your brethren here with me, and take food for the famine of your households, and be gone: "
33 (ROH) A človek, pán zeme, nám povedal: Po tom poznám, že ste statoční ľudia: Jedného svojho brata ponecháte u mňa, a to, čo je na zapudenie hladu z vašich domov, vezmite a iďte.
33 (RIV) E quell’uomo, signore del paese, ci ha detto: Da questo conoscerò se siete gente sincera; lasciate presso di me uno dei vostri fratelli, prendete quel che vi necessita per le vostre famiglie, partite, e menatemi il vostro fratello più giovine.

34 (UKJV) And bring your youngest brother unto me: then shall I know that all of you are no spies, but that all of you are true men: so will I deliver you your brother, and all of you shall trade in the land.
34 (ROH) A doveďte svojho najmladšieho brata ku mne, a tak zviem, že nie ste vyzvedači, ale že ste statoční ľudia, a vtedy vám vydám vášho brata, a potom obchodujte so zemou.
34 (RIV) Allora conoscerò che non siete delle spie ma gente sincera; io vi renderò il vostro fratello, e voi potrete trafficare nel paese".

35 (UKJV) And it came to pass as they emptied their sacks, that, behold, every man's bundle of money was in his sack: and when both they and their father saw the bundles of money, they were afraid.
35 (ROH) A stalo sa, keď vyprázdňovali svoje vrecia, že hľa, každý mal uzlík svojich peňazí vo svojom vreci. A keď videli uzly svojich peňazí, oni aj ich otec, báli sa.
35 (RIV) Or com’essi vuotavano i loro sacchi, ecco che l’involto del danaro di ciascuno era nel suo sacco; essi e il padre loro videro gl’involti del loro danaro, e furon presi da paura.

36 (UKJV) And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have all of you bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and all of you will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.
36 (ROH) A Jakob, ich otec, im povedal: Pripravili ste ma o deti. Jozefa niet, ani Simeona niet, a teraz vezmete Benjamina. Na mňa sa to všetko valí.
36 (RIV) E Giacobbe, loro padre, disse: "Voi m’avete privato dei miei figliuoli! Giuseppe non è più, Simeone non è più, e mi volete togliere anche Beniamino! Tutto questo cade addosso a me!"

37 (UKJV) And Reuben spoke unto his father, saying, Slay my two sons, if I bring him not to you: deliver him into my hand, and I will bring him to you again.
37 (ROH) Vtedy povedal Rúben svojmu otcovi a riekol: Zabi oboch mojich synov, ak ho nedovediem zase k tebe. Oddaj ho do mojich rúk, a ja ho navrátim k tebe.
37 (RIV) E Ruben disse a suo padre: "Se non te lo rimeno, fa’ morire i miei due figliuoli! Affidalo a me, io te lo ricondurrò".

38 (UKJV) "And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which all of you go, then shall all of you bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. "
38 (ROH) A povedal: Nepojde môj syn s vami dolu. Lebo jeho brat zomrel, a pozostal iba on sám. A keby sa mu prihodilo nejaké nešťastie na ceste, ktorou pojdete, sprevadili by ste moje šediny v zármutku do hrobu.
38 (RIV) Ma Giacobbe rispose: "Il mio figliuolo non scenderà con voi; poiché il suo fratello è morto, e questo solo è rimasto: se gli succedesse qualche disgrazia durante il vostro viaggio, fareste scendere con cordoglio la mia canizie nel soggiorno de’ morti".
