Gn 31, 1-55

1 (UKJV) "And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob has taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's has he got all this glory. "

2 (UKJV) And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.

3 (KAT) Vtedy Pán povedal Jakubovi: „Vráť sa späť do krajiny svojich otcov a k svojim príbuzným!
3 (UKJV) "And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of your fathers, and to your kindred; and I will be with you. "

4 (VUL) Misit Iacob et vocavit Rachel et Liam in agrum, ubi pascebat greges,
4 (UKJV) And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,

5 (UKJV) "And said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me. "

6 (UKJV) And all of you know that with all my power I have served your father.

7 (KAT) Váš otec ma však oklamal a desať ráz zmenil moju odmenu. No Boh nedal, aby mi uškodil.
7 (UKJV) "And your father has deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me. "

8 (KAT) Keď povedal: »Bodkasté budú tvojou odmenou,« všetky ovce donášali strakaté, keď zasa povedal: »Pruhované budú tvojou odmenou,« všetky ovce donášali pruhované.
8 (VUL) Si quando dixit: "Variae erunt mercedes tuae", pariebant omnes oves varios fetus. Quando vero e contrario ait: "Striata quaeque accipies pro mercede", omnes greges striata pepererunt.
8 (UKJV) "If he said thus, The speckled shall be your wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The striped with bands shall be your hire; then bare all the cattle striped with bands. "

9 (KAT) Boh vzal stáda vášmu otcovi a dal ich mne.
9 (VUL) Tulitque Deus substantiam patris vestri et dedit mihi.
9 (UKJV) Thus God has taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.

10 (UKJV) And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were striped with bands, speckled, and greyed.

11 (KAT) A Boží anjel mi vo sne hovoril: »Jakub!« Ja som odpovedal: »Tu som!«
11 (VUL) Dixitque angelus Dei ad me in somnis: "Iacob". Et ego respondi: Adsum.
11 (UKJV) And the angel of God spoke unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

12 (KAT) Vtedy mi povedal: »Pozdvihni oči a pozeraj.
12 (UKJV) And he said, Lift up now your eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are striped with bands, speckled, and greyed: for I have seen all that Laban does unto you.

13 (KAT) Ja som Boh z Betelu, kde si ty pomazal pomník a kde si mi urobil sľub. Teraz sa len zober, odíď z tejto krajiny a vráť sa do svojej rodnej krajiny!«“
13 (VUL) Ego sum Deus Bethel, ubi unxisti lapidem et votum vovisti mihi. Nunc ergo surge et egredere de terra hac revertens in terram nativitatis tuae" ”.
13 (UKJV) I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar, and where you vowed a vow unto me: now arise, get you out from this land, and return unto the land of your kindred.

14 (KAT) Ráchel a Lia mu vraveli: „Máme my ešte podiel alebo dedičstvo v dome nášho otca?!
14 (UKJV) And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father's house?

15 (KAT) Neboli sme preň ako cudzinky? Veď nás predal a čo utŕžil, načisto premárnil.
15 (VUL) Nonne quasi alienas reputavit nos et vendidit nos comeditque pretium nostrum?
15 (UKJV) Are we not counted of him strangers? for he has sold us, and has quite devoured also our money.

16 (KAT) Ozaj všetko bohatstvo, ktoré Boh odňal nášmu otcovi, patrí nám a našim deťom. Preto teda urob všetko, čo ti káže Boh!“
16 (VUL) Sed omnes opes, quas tulit Deus patri nostro, nobis abstulit ac filiis nostris; unde omnia, quae praecepit tibi Deus, fac ”.
16 (UKJV) For all the riches which God has taken from our father, that is ours, and our children's: now then, whatsoever God has said unto you, do.

17 (UKJV) "Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels; "

18 (KAT) vzal so sebou všetok svoj statok a všetok svoj majetok, ktorý získal v Mezopotámii, totižto statok, ktorý mu patril, čo si nadobudol, a šiel k svojmu otcovi Izákovi do krajiny Kanaán.
18 (VUL) Tulitque omnes greges suos et omnem substantiam suam, quidquid in Paddanaram acquisierat, ut iret ad Isaac patrem suum in terram Chanaan.
18 (UKJV) And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had got, the cattle of his getting, which he had got in Padanaram, in order to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

19 (KAT) Laban odišiel strihať ovce a Ráchel zatiaľ ukradla svojmu otcovi domácich bôžikov.
19 (UKJV) And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father's.

20 (UKJV) And Jacob stole away unexpectedly to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.

21 (UKJV) "So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead. "

22 (UKJV) And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.

23 (KAT) Vtedy Laban zobral so sebou svojich príbuzných, hnal sa za ním sedem dní cesty a dostihol ho na Galaádskych vrchoch.
23 (VUL) Qui, assumptis fratribus suis, persecutus est eum diebus septem et comprehendit eum in monte Galaad.
23 (UKJV) "And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days' journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead. "

24 (UKJV) And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that you speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

25 (VUL) Iamque Iacob extenderat in monte tabernaculum, cum Laban, consecutus eum cum fratribus suis, in eodem monte Galaad fixit tentorium.
25 (UKJV) Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.

26 (KAT) Tu Laban povedal Jakubovi: „Čo si to urobil?
26 (UKJV) And Laban said to Jacob, What have you done, that you have stolen away unexpectedly to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?

Neoznámil si mi to, aby som ťa mohol vyprevadiť s jasotom a spevmi, s bubnami a citarami!
27 (UKJV) "Wherefore did you flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and did not tell me, that I might have sent you away with delight, and with songs, with timbrel, and with harp? "

28 (KAT) Nedovolil si mi pobozkať mojich vnukov a dcéry!
28 (UKJV) And have not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? you have now done foolishly in so doing.

29 (KAT) V mojich rukách bolo urobiť vám zlo, ale Boh tvojho otca mi minulej noci povedal: »Chráň sa namiesto dobre - zle hovoriť s Jakubom!«
29 (VUL) valet quidem manus mea reddere tibi malum, sed Deus patris vestri heri dixit mihi: “Cave, ne loquaris contra Iacob quidquam!”.
29 (UKJV) It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spoke unto me last night, saying, Take you heed that you speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

30 (VUL) Esto, profectus es, quia desiderio tibi erat domus patris tui; cur furatus es deos meos? ”.
30 (UKJV) And now, though you would essentially be gone, because you sore longed after your father's house, yet wherefore have you stolen my gods?

31 (KAT) Jakub vravel Labanovi: „Áno, bál som sa, lebo som si myslel, že by si mi bol násilím vzal svoje dcéry.
31 (VUL) Respondit Iacob: “ Quia timui. Dixi enim, ne forte violenter auferres filias tuas a me.
31 (UKJV) And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Possibly you would take by force your daughters from me.

32 (KAT) U koho však nájdeš svojich bohov, ten neostane nažive! V prítomnosti našich príbuzných poprezeraj, čo mám so sebou, a ber si to!“ Jakub totiž nevedel, že ich Ráchel ukradla.
32 (VUL) Apud quemcumque inveneris deos tuos, non vivat! Coram fratribus nostris scrutare, quidquid tuorum apud me inveneris, et aufer ”.
32 (UKJV) With whomsoever you find your gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern you what is your with me, and take it to you. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.

33 (KAT) Nato Laban vošiel do Jakubovho stanu a do Liinho stanu i do stanu oboch slúžok, ale nič nenašiel. Keď vyšiel z Liinho stanu, vošiel do Ráchelinho stanu.
33 (UKJV) "And Laban went into Jacob's tent, and into Leah's tent, and into the two maidservants' tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah's tent, and entered into Rachel's tent. "

34 (KAT) Ráchel však bôžikov vzala, skryla ich do ťavieho sedla a sadla si naň.
34 (UKJV) Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.

35 (VUL) ait: “ Ne irascatur dominus meus, quod coram te assurgere nequeo, quia iuxta consuetudinem feminarum nunc accidit mihi ”. Quaesivit ergo et non invenit theraphim.
35 (UKJV) "And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before you; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched but found not the images. "

36 (UKJV) And Jacob was angry, and find fault with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that you have so hotly pursued after me?

37 (KAT) a prekutávaš moje? Čo si našiel zo všetkých vecí svojho domu?! Polož to tu pred oči mojich a tvojich príbuzných!
37 (UKJV) Whereas you have searched all my stuff, what have you found of all your household stuff? set it here before my brethren and your brethren, that they may judge between us both.

38 (KAT) Je tomu práve dvadsať rokov, čo som bol u teba! Tvoje ovce a kozy nikdy nezvrhli a ja som nejedol nikdy barany z tvojho stáda.
38 (VUL) Ecce, viginti annis fui tecum. Oves tuae et caprae non abortiverunt, arietes gregis tui non comedi;
38 (UKJV) "This twenty years have I been with you; your ewes and your she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of your flock have I not eaten. "

39 (KAT) Roztrhané som ti nikdy nedoniesol, ja som to vždy nahrádzal. Odo mňa si to vždy požadoval, či skapalo vo dne alebo v noci.
39 (VUL) nec dilaceratum a bestia ostendi tibi: ego damnum omne reddebam; quidquid die noctuque furto perierat, a me exigebas.
39 (UKJV) "That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto you; I bare the loss of it; of my hand did you require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night. "

40 (UKJV) "Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes. "

41 (UKJV) "Thus have I been twenty years in your house; I served you fourteen years for your two daughters, and six years for your cattle: and you have changed my wages ten times. "

42 (KAT) Keby nebol býval so mnou Boh môjho otca, Boh Abraháma a ten, ktorého sa boji Izák, tak teraz by si ma bol prepustil naprázdno! To však, čo som pretrpel a čo robievali moje ruky, videl Boh, a preto ťa včerajšej noci varoval.“
42 (VUL) Nisi Deus patris mei, Deus Abraham et Timor Isaac, affuisset mihi, certemodo nudum me dimisisses; afflictionem meam et laborem manuum mearum respexit Deus et iudicavit heri ”.
42 (UKJV) Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely you had sent me away now empty. God has seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked you last night.

43 (UKJV) And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that you see is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?

44 (KAT) Nuž poď teraz, uzavrieme zmluvu, ty a ja! Nech je to svedectvom medzi mnou a tebou!“
44 (UKJV) "Now therefore come you, let us make a covenant, I and you; and let it be for a witness between me and you. "

45 (KAT) Vtedy Jakub vzal kameň a postavil ho ako pamätník.
45 (VUL) Tulit itaque Iacob lapidem et erexit illum in titulum;
45 (UKJV) And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.

46 (KAT) Potom povedal Jakub svojim príbuzným: „Nazbierajte kameňov!“ I nabrali kameňov a urobili hromadu, a na nej potom jedli.
46 (VUL) dixitque fratribus suis: “ Afferte lapides ”. Qui congregantes fecerunt tumulum comederuntque ibi super eum.
46 (UKJV) "And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap. "

47 (KAT) Laban ju nazval Jegar sahaduta a Jakub ju nazval Galaád.
47 (VUL) Quem vocavit Laban Iegarsahadutha (id est Tumulus testimonii), et Iacob Galed (uterque iuxta proprietatem linguae suae).
47 (UKJV) And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed.

48 (KAT) Nato Laban povedal: „Táto hromada je dnes svedkom medzi mnou a tebou.“ - Preto ju nazval Galaád
48 (UKJV) "And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and you this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed; "

49 (KAT) a Masfa (stráž), lebo vravel: „Nech Pán stráži nad nami, keď sa rozlúčime!“ -
49 (UKJV) "And Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and you, when we are absent one from another. "

50 (UKJV) "If you shall afflict my daughters, or if you shall take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness between me and you. "

51 (UKJV) And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast between me and you:

52 (UKJV) This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and that you shall not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.

53 (KAT) Boh Abraháma a Boh Nachora nech súdia medzi mnou a tebou!“ A Jakub prisahal na strach svojho otca Izáka.
53 (VUL) Deus Abraham et Deus Nachor iudicent inter nos ”. Iuravit Iacob per Timorem patris sui Isaac;
53 (UKJV) The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us. And Jacob swore by the fear of his father Isaac.

54 (KAT) potom Jakub obetoval na vrchu krvavú obetu a zavolal svojich príbuzných na hostinu. Po hostine prenocovali na vrchu.
54 (VUL) immolatisque victimis in monte, vocavit fratres suos, ut ederent panem. Qui cum comedissent, pernoctaverunt in monte.
54 (UKJV) Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.

55 ----
55 ----
55 (UKJV) And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.

Gn 31, 1-55

Verš 13
Ja som Boh z Betelu, kde si ty pomazal pomník a kde si mi urobil sľub. Teraz sa len zober, odíď z tejto krajiny a vráť sa do svojej rodnej krajiny!«“
Gn 28:13 - A hľa, nad ním stál Pán a hovoril: „Ja som Pán, Boh tvojho otca Abraháma a Izáka. Zem, na ktorej odpočívaš, dám tebe a tvojmu potomstvu.

Gn 31,15 - V starej Mezopotámii bolo zvykové právo, že svokor zo sumy, ktorú dostal od ženícha, po uzavretí manželstva časť vrátil neveste; Laban si však iba privlastnil Jakubovu prácu.

Gn 31,19 - Strihanie oviec bolo spojené so slávnosťou.

V tom hriechu nebolo. Bol len obozretný a nechcel, aby mu Laban sťažoval odchod.

Gn 31,21 - Rieka, rozumej Eufrat.

Gn 31,26 - Hoci Laban bol sám príčinou rýchleho odchodu Jakubovho, teraz predstiera svoje priateľstvo a lásku k dcéram. Je to pretvárka, veď svojou tvrdohlavosťou priam ich z domu vyháňal.

Gn 31,43 - Laban si neprávom robí nárok na Jakubove ženy, deti a majetok.

Gn 31,47 - Slová znejú rozlične a majú ten istý význam. Jakub rozpráva hebrejsky a Laban aramejsky.

(porov. v. 42).
