Gn 26, 1-35

1 (UKJV) And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.

2 (KAT) Vtedy sa mu zjavil Pán a povedal: „Nezostupuj do Egypta, ostaň v krajine, ktorú ti určím.
2 (UKJV) "And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell you of: "

3 (UKJV) "Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you; for unto you, and unto your seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham your father; "

4 (KAT) »Rozmnožím tvoje potomstvo ako hviezdy neba a ja dám tvojmu potomstvu všetky tieto krajiny a v tvojom potomstve budú požehnané všetky národy zeme.«
4 (VUL) et multiplicabo semen tuum sicut stellas caeli daboque posteris tuis universas regiones has; et benedicentur in semine tuo omnes gentes terrae,
4 (UKJV) "And I will make your seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto your seed all these countries; and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; "

5 (UKJV) Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

6 (KAT) Izák teda ostal v Gerare.
6 (VUL) Mansit itaque Isaac in Geraris.
6 (UKJV) And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:

7 (VUL) Qui, cum interrogaretur a viris loci illius super uxore sua, respondit: “Soror mea est”. Timuerat enim confiteri quod sibi esset sociata coniugio, reputans ne forte interficerent eum propter illius pulchritudinem.
7 (UKJV) "And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon. "

8 (KAT) A keď tam býval už dlhší čas, raz filištínsky kráľ Abimelech pozeral z obloka a videl, ako sa Izák so svojou ženou Rebekou láskali.
8 (VUL) Cumque pertransissent dies plurimi et ibidem moraretur, prospiciens Abimelech rex Philisthim per fenestram vidit eum iocantem cum Rebecca uxore sua.
8 (UKJV) And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.

9 (UKJV) "And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, certainly she is your wife; and how said you, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her. "

10 (KAT) Abimelech mu povedal: „Prečo si nám to urobil?!
Praecepitque omni populo dicens:
10 (UKJV) And Abimelech said, What is this you have done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with your wife, and you should have brought guiltiness upon us.

11 (UKJV) And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.

12 (KAT) A Izák sial v tej krajine a v tom roku žal stonásobne, lebo Pán ho požehnával.
12 (VUL) Sevit autem Isaac in terra illa et invenit in ipso anno centuplum; benedixitque ei Dominus.
12 (UKJV) Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

13 (VUL) Et locupletatus est homo et ibat proficiens atque succrescens, donec magnus vehementer effectus est;
13 (UKJV) And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

14 (KAT) Mal oviec, dobytka a mnoho služobníctva, a preto mu Filištínci závideli.
14 (VUL) habuitque possessionem ovium et armentorum et familiae plurimum. Ob haec invidentes ei Philisthim
14 (UKJV) For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

15 (VUL) omnes puteos, quos foderant servi patris illius in diebus Abraham, obstruxerunt implentes humo,
15 (UKJV) For all the wells which his father's servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.

16 (VUL) in tantum ut ipse Abimelech diceret ad Isaac: “ Recede a nobis, quoniam potentior nostri factus es valde ”.
16 (UKJV) "And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for you are much mightier than we. "

17 (KAT) A Izák odišiel, svoje stany rozložil v údolí Gerary a ostal tam bývať.
17 (VUL) Et ille discedens tentoria fixit ad torrentem Gerarae habitavitque ibi.
17 (UKJV) And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.

18 (VUL) Rursum fodit puteos, quos foderant in diebus patris sui Abraham et quos, illo mortuo, obstruxerant Philisthim. Appellavitque eos eisdem nominibus, quibus ante pater vocaverat.
18 (UKJV) "And Isaac dug again the wells of water, which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them. "

19 (KAT) Keď Izákovi sluhovia kopali v údolí, našli tam studňu so živou vodou.
19 (VUL) Foderunt servi Isaac in torrente et reppererunt ibi puteum aquae vivae.
19 (UKJV) And Isaac's servants dug in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.

20 (UKJV) "And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him. "

21 (UKJV) And they dug another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah.

22 (KAT) Šiel odtiaľ ďalej a opäť vykopal studňu. O tú sa nehádali a dal jej meno Rechobot, hovoriac: „Teraz nám Pán dožičil voľnosti, aby sme sa rozmnožovali v krajine.“
22 (UKJV) "And he removed from thence, and dug another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land. "

23 (KAT) Odtiaľ šiel do Bersabe.
23 (UKJV) And he went up from thence to Beersheba.

24 (KAT) V tú noc sa mu zjavil Pán a povedal mu: „Ja som Boh tvojho otca Abraháma. Neboj sa, lebo ja som s tebou. Požehnám ťa a rozmnožím tvoje potomstvo kvôli môjmu služobníkovi Abrahámovi.“
24 (VUL) ubi apparuit ei Dominus in ipsa nocte dicens: “ Ego sum Deus Abraham patris tui. Noli timere, quia tecum sum; benedicam tibi et multiplicabo semen tuum propter servum meum Abraham ”.
24 (UKJV) And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham your father: fear not, for I am with you, and will bless you, and multiply your seed for my servant Abraham's sake.

25 (KAT) I postavil tam oltár a vzýval meno Pánovo. Tam rozložil svoj stan a Izákovi sluhovia tam vykopali studňu.
25 (VUL) Itaque aedificavit ibi altare et, invocato nomine Domini, extendit tabernaculum, et servi Isaac foderunt ibi puteum.
25 (UKJV) And he built an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants dug a well.

26 (UKJV) Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army.

Veď vy ste so mnou v nepriateľstve a od vás ste ma vyhnali!“
27 (VUL) et locutus est eis Isaac: “ Quid venistis ad me hominem, quem odistis et expulistis a vobis? ”.
27 (UKJV) And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come all of you to me, seeing all of you hate me, and have sent me away from you?

Uzavrieme s tebou zmluvu.
28 (UKJV) "And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with you: and we said, Let there be now an oath between us, even between us and you, and let us make a covenant with you; "

29 (KAT) Iste nám nič zlé neurobíš, ako ani my sme ti neublížili, ba preukazovali sme ti dobro a prepustili sme ťa v pokoji.
29 (UKJV) That you will do us no hurt, as we have not touched you, and as we have done unto you nothing but good, and have sent you away in peace: you are now the blessed of the LORD.

30 (KAT) On im pripravil hostinu a oni jedli a pili.
30 (VUL) Fecit ergo eis convivium, et comederunt et biberunt.
30 (UKJV) And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink.

31 (VUL) Surgentesque mane iuraverunt sibi mutuo.
31 (UKJV) And they rose up early in the morning, and swore one to another: and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.

32 (KAT) Ešte v ten istý deň prišli k Izákovi sluhovia a oznámili mu o studni, čo vykopali: „Našli sme vodu!“
32 (UKJV) And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had dug, and said unto him, We have found water.

33 (KAT) Preto ju nazvali Šebuah. A preto je meno toho mesta až do dnešného dňa Bersabe.
33 (UKJV) And he called it Shebah: therefore the name of the city is Beersheba unto this day.

34 (KAT) Keď mal Ezau štyridsať rokov, vzal si za ženu dcéru Hetejca Bériho Juditu a dcéru Hetejca Elona Bašemat; obe však zarmútili Izákovu i Rebekinu dušu.
34 (VUL) Esau vero quadragenarius duxit uxores Iudith filiam Beeri Hetthaei et Basemath filiam Elon Hetthaei.
34 (UKJV) And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:

35 ----
35 (VUL) Quae ambae offenderant animum Isaac et Rebeccae.
35 (UKJV) Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.

Verš 3
Zdržuj sa ako prišelec v tejto krajine a ja budem s tebou a požehnám ťa, lebo tebe a tvojmu potomstvu chcem dať všetky tieto krajiny, aby som splnil prísahu, ktorou som sa zaviazal tvojmu otcovi, Abrahámovi:
