1 (KAT) Dní Sárinho života bolo stodvadsaťsedem rokov. Toľko žila Sára.
1 (VUL) Vixit autem Sara centum viginti septem annis
1 (UKJV) And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah.

2 (KAT) Sára zomrela v Arbe, čiže v Hebrone, v krajine Kanaán. I šiel Abrahám, aby ju oželel a oplakal.
2 (VUL) et mortua est in Cariatharbe, quae est Hebron, in terra Chanaan; venitque Abraham, ut plangeret et fleret eam.

3 (KAT) Potom Abrahám vstal od svojej mŕtvej a hovoril Hetejcom:

4 (VUL) “Advena sum et inquilinus apud vos; date mihi possessionem sepulcri vobiscum, ut sepeliam mortuum meum”.
4 (UKJV) I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.

5 (KAT) Hetejci mu však odpovedali: „Počúvaj, pane! Ty si ako Božie knieža medzi nami. V najlepšom našom hrobe môžeš pochovať svoju mŕtvu.
5 (VUL) Responderunt filii Heth dicentes:
5 (UKJV) And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him,

6 (KAT) Nik z nás ti nebude brániť, aby si pochoval svoju mŕtvu v jeho hrobe.“
6 (VUL) “Audi nos, domine, princeps Dei es apud nos: in nobilissimo sepulcrorum nostrorum sepeli mortuum tuum; nullusque te prohibebit, quin in sepulcro eius sepelias mortuum tuum”.

11 (VUL) “Nequaquam ita fiat, domine mi, ausculta me. Agrum do tibi et speluncam, quae in eo est, praesentibus filiis populi mei; sepeli mortuum tuum”.

12 (KAT) Abrahám sa opäť poklonil pred obyvateľmi krajiny
12 (VUL) Adoravit Abraham coram populo terrae

16 (KAT) Abrahám súhlasil s Efronom a Abrahám odvážil Efronovi toľko striebra, koľko on pred Hetejcami spomenul: štyristo šeklov striebra podľa bežnej váhy.
