Gn 21, 1-34

1 (KJV) And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
1 (KAT) A Pán navštívil Sáru, ako prisľúbil, a Pán vyplnil Sáre, čo predpovedal.

2 (KJV) For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
2 (KAT) Sára teda počala a porodila Abrahámovi syna vo svojej starobe, a to v čase, ktorý jej predpovedal Boh.

3 (KJV) And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
3 (KAT) Abrahám nazval svojho syna, ktorý sa mu narodil, čo mu porodila Sára, Izákom.

4 (KJV) And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
4 (KAT) Abrahám obrezal svojho syna Izáka, keď mal osem dní, ako to prikázal Pán.

5 (KJV) And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
5 (KAT) Abrahám mal sto rokov, keď sa mu narodil jeho syn Izák.

6 (KJV) And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
6 (KAT) Vtedy povedala Sára: „Radostný smiech mi spôsobil Boh. Každý, kto o tom počuje, bude sa mi smiať.“

7 (KJV) And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
7 (KAT) A znova povedala: „Kto by bol povedal Abrahámovi, že Sára bude ešte dojčiť deti? A predsa som porodila v jeho vysokom veku.“

8 (KJV) And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
8 (KAT) A chlapec rástol a bol odstavený. V deň, keď Izáka odstavili, urobil Abrahám veľkú hostinu.

9 (KJV) And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
9 (KAT) Sára videla, že syn Egypťanky Agar, ktorého porodila Abrahámovi, posmieva sa jej vlastnému synovi Izákovi.

10 (KJV) Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
10 (KAT) Tu povedala Abrahámovi: „Vyžeň túto slúžku i jej syna, lebo syn tejto slúžky nesmie dediť s mojím synom Izákom!“

11 (KJV) And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.
11 (KAT) Ale táto reč sa veľmi dotkla Abraháma, veď šlo o jeho syna.

12 (KJV) And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
12 (KAT) Boh mu však povedal: „Netráp sa nad chlapcom a nad svojou slúžkou! Počúvni Sáru vo všetkom, čo ti hovorí, lebo podľa Izáka sa bude volať tvoje potomstvo!

13 (KJV) And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
13 (KAT) Ale aj zo syna slúžky urobím veľký národ, lebo on je tiež tvojím potomkom.“

14 (KJV) And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.
14 (KAT) Abrahám teda vstal včasráno, vzal chlieb a mech s vodou a dal to Agar, vyložil jej to na chrbát, a poslal ju aj s chlapcom preč. Ona šla a zablúdila na púšti Bersabe.

15 (KJV) And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
15 (KAT) Keď sa voda z mecha minula, uložila chlapca pod jeden z kríkov,

16 (KJV) And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
16 (KAT) poodišla a sadla si obďaleč, tak vo vzdialenosti dostrelu kuše, lebo si vravela: „Nemôžem sa pozerať na smrť dieťaťa.“ Tak sedela obďaleč a nahlas plakala.

17 (KJV) And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
17 (KAT) Boh však vypočul chlapcov hlas a Boží anjel takto zavolal z neba na Agar: „Čo ti je, Agar? Neboj sa! Veď Boh počul chlapcov hlas odtiaľ, kde je.

18 (KJV) Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
18 (KAT) Vstaň, vezmi chlapca a drž ho pevne za ruku, lebo z neho urobím veľký národ!“

19 (KJV) And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
19 (KAT) Tu jej Boh otvoril oči a ona zbadala studňu s vodou. I šla, naplnila mech vodou a napojila chlapca.

20 (KJV) And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
20 (KAT) A Boh bol s chlapcom. Keď vyrástol, býval na púšti a stal sa z neho veľký kušostrelec.

21 (KJV) And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
21 (KAT) Býval na púšti Fáran a jeho matka mu vzala ženu z egyptskej krajiny.

22 (KJV) And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:
22 (KAT) V tom čase Abimelech a veliteľ jeho vojska Pichol povedali Abrahámovi: „Boh je s tebou vo všetkom, čo robíš.

23 (KJV) Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
23 (KAT) Preto mi teraz a na tomto mieste pred Bohom prisahaj, že sa nezachováš neverne ani proti mne, ani proti môjmu potomstvu! Ako som ti preukázal priateľstvo ja, tak (ho) preukazuj aj ty mne a celej krajine, v ktorej si bol hosťom.“

24 (KJV) And Abraham said, I will swear.
24 (KAT) Abrahám povedal: „Áno, budem prisahať!“

25 (KJV) And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.
25 (KAT) Potom Abrahám dohováral Abimelechovi pre studňu, ktorej sa zmocnili Abimelechovi sluhovia.

26 (KJV) And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.
26 (KAT) Abimelech však odvetil: „Ja neviem, kto to urobil. Ty si o tom nič nevravel a ani dodnes som o tom nič nepočul.“

27 (KJV) And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.
27 (KAT) Potom vzal Abrahám ovce a junce a dal ich Abimelechovi a obaja uzavreli zmluvu.

28 (KJV) And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
28 (KAT) Sedem jahníc však oddelil osobitne.

29 (KJV) And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?
29 (KAT) I opýtal sa ho Abimelech: „Čo má znamenať tých sedem, osobitne oddelených jahníc?“

30 (KJV) And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.
30 (KAT) On odpovedal: „Týchto sedem jahníc musíš vziať odo mňa, aby mi to bolo svedectvom, že som ja vykopal túto studňu.“

31 (KJV) Wherefore he called that place Beer-sheba; because there they sware both of them.
31 (KAT) Preto sa tá studňa volá Bersabe, lebo tam obaja prisahali.

32 (KJV) Thus they made a covenant at Beer-sheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
32 (KAT) Takto uzavreli zmluvu pri Bersabe. Potom sa Abimelech a veliteľ vojska Pichol pobrali a vrátili sa do filištínskej krajiny.

33 (KJV) And Abraham planted a grove in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.
33 (KAT) Abrahám však zasadil pri Bersabe tamarišku a vzýval tam meno Pána, večného Boha.

34 (KJV) And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines' land many days.
34 (KAT) A Abrahám býval dlhší čas ako cudzinec vo filištínskej krajine.

Verš 1

And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

Gn 17:19 - And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Gn 18:10 - And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

Verš 2

For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

Gal 4:23 - But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

Heb 11:11 - Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Gn 18:10 - And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

Gn 18:14 - Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Verš 4

And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.

Gn 17:10 - This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

Verš 33

And Abraham planted a grove in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.

Gn 4:26 - And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

Verš 10

Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.

Gal 4:30 - Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

Verš 12

And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

Rim 9:7 - Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

Heb 11:18 - Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

Verš 13

And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

Gn 16:10 - And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

Gn 17:20 - And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

Verš 18

Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.

Gn 16:10 - And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

Verš 23

Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.

Gn 14:23 - That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:

Gn 21,3 - Izák-jischaq – ,smial sa', pomenovanie Izáka je pripomienkou na Sárin smiech (18,12).

Gn 21,6 - Opäť slovná hračka s menom Izák (ako 17,17 a 18,12–15).

Gn 21,8 - Čas dojčenia trval dva-tri roky (2 Krn 31,16; 2 Mach 7,27). Na východe sa aj dnes odstavenie dieťaťa oslavuje hostinou.

Gn 21,9 - Posmieval sa – doslovne hral sa, teda robil žarty: nová narážka na Izákovo meno (17,17).

Gn 21,14 - Keď sa zákonitej manželke narodili deti, mohol muž podľa obyčají starého Orientu otrokyňu a jej deti obdariť a poslať ich z domu preč. Otrokyňu však pri tom musel prepustiť na slobodu. Agar sa dáva na cestu do svojej vlasti, do Egypta, ale na ceste zablúdi a anjel Boží ju nachodí pri Bersabe, ktorá je na juhozápad od Mŕtveho mora.

Gn 21,17 - Narážka na meno Izmael (pozri 16,11).

Gn 21,21 - Púšť Fáran je severnou časťou Sinajského polostrova.

Gn 21,31 - Bersabe, hebr. Be ,er-šába', čo značí jednak ,studňa prísahy', jednak ,studňa siedmich'.
