(KJV - Anglický - King James)

Gn 18, 1-33

1 (KJV) And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

2 (KJV) And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

3 (KJV) And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
3 (KAT) a povedal: „Pane, ak nachádzam milosť v tvojich očiach, neobíď svojho služobníka;

4 (KJV) Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
4 (KAT) donesie sa trochu vody, umyte si nohy a odpočiňte si pod stromom!

5 (KJV) And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.
5 (KAT) Prinesiem kúsok chleba a posilníte sa. Potom pôjdete ďalej. Veď prečože by ste mali prejsť popri svojom služobníkovi?!“ Oni odpovedali: „Urob, ako vravíš!“

6 (KJV) And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.
6 (KAT) Abrahám sa poponáhľal do Sárinho (oddelenia) stanu a povedal: „Zober rýchlo tri miery jemnej múky, zamies a napeč podplamenníkov!“

7 (KJV) And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.
7 (KAT) Potom Abrahám bežal k stádu, vybral pekné mladé teľa, dal ho sluhovi a on sa poponáhľal pripraviť ho.

8 (KJV) And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.
8 (KAT) Potom priniesol maslo, sladké mlieko i teľa, ktoré dal pripraviť, a predložil im to. Sám však ostal stáť opodiaľ pod stromom, kým oni jedli.

9 (KJV) And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.

10 (KJV) And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

11 (KJV) Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
11 (KAT) Abrahám a Sára boli starí, pokročilí vekom; Sáre sa už nestávalo, čo sa stáva ženám.

12 (KJV) Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
12 (KAT) Preto sa Sára sama v sebe zasmiala, mysliac si: „Teraz, keď som stará, budem mať rozkoš? A môj pán je tiež už starec!“

13 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
13 (KAT) Tu Pán povedal Abrahámovi: „Prečo sa Sára smeje a myslí si pri tom: »Mohla by som naozaj ešte porodiť, takáto starena?«

14 (KJV) Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
14 (KAT) Je azda Pánovi nejaká vec nemožná? O rok v tomto čase sa vrátim k tebe a Sára bude mať syna!“

15 (KJV) Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.
15 (KAT) Sára zapierala: „Ja som sa nesmiala!“ Bála sa totiž. On však povedal: „Nie. Smiala si sa.“

16 (KJV) And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.
16 (KAT) Mužovia sa potom odtiaľ pobrali a zamierili k Sodome. Abrahám išiel s nimi, aby ich odprevadil.

17 (KJV) And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
17 (KAT) A Pán prehovoril: „Mám pred Abrahámom tajiť, čo chcem urobiť?!

18 (KJV) Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
18 (KAT) Veď z Abraháma sa má stať veľký a mocný národ a v ňom majú byť požehnané všetky národy zeme.

19 (KJV) For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
19 (KAT) Nuž oznámim mu to, lebo on prikáže svojim synom a svojmu domu po sebe zachovávať Pánovu cestu, konať podľa spravodlivosti a práva, aby tak Pán splnil Abrahámovi všetko, čo mu prisľúbil.“

20 (KJV) And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
20 (KAT) Preto Pán povedal: „Žaloba na Sodomu a Gomoru je veľká a ich hriech je veľmi ťažký.

21 (KJV) I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
Chcem to vedieť.“

22 (KJV) And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
22 (KAT) Mužovia sa potom odtiaľ obrátili a išli do Sodomy, kým Abrahám ostal ešte stáť pred Pánom.

23 (KJV) And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
23 (KAT) Tu Abrahám pristúpil bližšie a povedal: „Zahubíš azda spravodlivého spolu s bezbožným?

24 (KJV) Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

25 (KJV) That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

26 (KJV) And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
26 (KAT) Pán mu povedal: „Ak v meste Sodome nájdem päťdesiat spravodlivých, kvôli nim odpustím celému mestu.“

27 (KJV) And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:
27 (KAT) Abrahám však začal znova a povedal: „Hľa, opovážil som sa rozprávať s Pánom, hoci som len prach a popol.

28 (KJV) Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.
28 (KAT) Možno, že do päťdesiat budú chýbať piati spravodliví. Zničil by si kvôli piatim celé mesto?“ On odpovedal: „Nezničím, ak ich tam nájdem štyridsaťpäť.“

29 (KJV) And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake.
29 (KAT) A on mu ďalej hovoril: „A čo, keď sa ich tam nájde len štyridsať?“ On odpovedal: „Neurobím to kvôli štyridsiatim.“

30 (KJV) And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.
30 (KAT) Potom povedal: „Ach, nehnevaj sa, Pane, keď ešte hovorím. A ak sa ich tam nájde len tridsať?“ Odpovedal: „Neurobím to, ak ich tam nájdem tridsať.“

31 (KJV) And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake.
31 (KAT) A zasa povedal: „Hľa, začal som hovoriť svojmu Pánovi: Čo bude, ak sa ich tam nájde len dvadsať?“ A on odvetil: „Nezahubím (ich) kvôli dvadsiatim.“

32 (KJV) And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

33 (KJV) And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

Gn 18, 1-33

Verš 2
And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
Heb 13:2 - Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Verš 10
And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
Gn 17:19 - And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
Gn 17:21 - But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
Gn 21:2 - For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

Verš 11
Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
Gn 17:17 - Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
Rim 4:19 - And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:
Heb 11:11 - Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Verš 12
Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
Sdc 19:26 - Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man's house where her lord was, till it was light.
1Pt 3:6 - Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

Verš 14
Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
Mt 19:26 - But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Lk 1:37 - For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Verš 17
And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
Am 3:7 - Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

Verš 18
Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
Gn 12:3 - And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Gn 22:18 - And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Gn 26:4 - And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
Sk 3:25 - Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
Gal 3:8 - And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

Verš 25
That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
Rim 3:6 - God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

Gn 18,1-5 - Boh zjavuje sa Abrahámovi v podobe Anjela a sprevádzajú ho ešte dvaja anjeli. Zjavenie sa odohráva na poludnie. Abrahám považoval hostí za ľudí, neskoršie v jednom poznáva Pána. Abrahám oslovuje z príchodiacich len jedného, toho najvznešenejšieho a najhlavnejšieho. Pane, hebr. adoni, je úctivé oslovenie. Seba Abrahám volá sluhom. Takto to vyžadovala orientálna zdvorilosť.
